Michelle Obama Brings The Arts To Kids
First Lady Michelle Obama (in Michael Kors) arrives to address the Design Awards luncheon in the East Room of The White House in Washington, D.C., on Friday (July 24).
“An educational foundation is only part of the equation,” said Obama, who wants to expose more kids to the arts. “In order for creativity to flourish and imagination to take hold, we also need to expose our children to the arts from a very young age. We need to ensure that our children have both — knowledge and imagination. I know I want that for my girls. They deserve to have access to a good education and access to ideas and images that will spark their creativity.”
Later in the day, Michelle and President Barack Obama along with Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James Conway and his wife attended the Marine Corps Evening Parade at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C.

I agree that the arts are very important and still need to be taught at schools. love the obamas.
i love art!!!!!! i hate that arts are the first cut from schools…and then sports. ugh. education. they don’t get it that everything needs to be balanced…and that arts actually help you improve in actual concrete subjects and feed the creative mind. it doesn’t help to only have schools turning out only one dimensional thinkers. life is so much richer with arts and other things as a combintation. i know it always comes down to money, but money isn’t always the end all be all or everything. i mean those kids at the PS32 kids choir is a good example of this.
Barack Obama I love you, now I have more respect for people from your country that you made me believe in America have good people.

She needs to stop wearing yellow. That is not a good color for her. It puts an emphasis on her wide hips and ghetto booty. I bet Michelle Obama has had her picture taken more times as first lady already than Laura Bush had her picture taken as first lady in her 8 years as first lady.
i know. i was going to say ugh yellow again. i mean yellow is okay and she seems fond of it and i think she’s going to make it popular again but i am pained about that because i am like WHY? yellow is the best and worst colour all in one. it’s too strong. it’s too typical. it’s not surprising. like the yellow shade she wears is not fun. she needs to go like for a dark gold mustard, or for like a yellow fresh, NOT yellow yellow. she could go baby yellow. i mean yellow could be done so many different ways. but it’s not. hmmm. kinda like how the yellow on this website bothers me. lol.
The 10 year old daughter is 5′8″ tall already. Sad.
OMG! She looks fabulous in yellow. Bright and cheery! I love how their kids are always in normal casual clothes.
