The movie poster for The Time Traveler’s Wife looks gorgeous! The new drama, in theaters August 14th, is based on the best-selling book about a love that transcends time.
Clare (Rachel McAdams) has been in love with Henry (Eric Bana) her entire life. She believes they are destined to be together, even though she never knows when they will be separated: Henry is a time traveler–cursed with a rare genetic anomaly that causes him to live his life on a shifting timeline, skipping back and forth through the years with no control. Despite the fact that Henry’s travels force them apart with no warning, and never knowing when they will be reunited, Clare desperately tries to build a life with her one true love.

The book is not a romance novel but the trailer make it look like a cross between The Notebook and A Walk to Remember! Pure BULLSH!T.
If the studio created an accurate adaptation or at least chose to market it differently, the movie would appeal to a much wider base. The book is amazing and encompasses many more themes than a woman pining for her absent man!!

I agree. Rachel is one of my favorite actresses as well. She’s so gorgeous. Love her. im excited for this movie! I read the book and it was amazing! Romantic, hilarious, smart, and dirty [: i don’t recommend it to anyone who’s under 15yrs of age. I hope the movie is as close to the book as possible.

this book was one of my all time favorites, and I am a big time book worm! I somehow don’t picture Eric Bana as Henry…more a Johnny Depp type! I hope the movie is great, but please read the book! I think my paperback was shared by at least a half dozen friends!
Eric Bana is perfect as Henry, a fine actor and so very very hot….sigh!

Eric is a good actor, but looks nothing like how Henry is described. Actually he’s too old for the part as well. I always imagined (a young) Henry to look something like this. He’s descibed as very handsome, almost cat-like in his features and with shoulder-length hair (when young). Take a look…

I don’t think YOU got the book. No, “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is not a romance. But then neither was “Romeo and Juliet”.
