Gina Torres: Gossip Girl’s Latest Star!
Gina Torres will star in the upcoming season of Gossip Girl as the mother of Vanessa (Jessica Szohr).
According to TV Guide, Gina will play Gabriela Abrams, “a free spirit, former Brooklynite who lives ‘off the grid’ in Vermont and has definite opinions about things, especially concerning her daughter.”
Gina, who starred in Alias and Firefly, is married to Laurence Fishburne (CSI, The Matrix).
The season 3 premiere of Gossip Girl airs on Monday, Sept. 14 at @ 9PM ET/PT on The CW.

Love Gina, Hate Vanessa. Can’t believe they’re wasting someone of her caliber on the most hated character ever. They’re going WAY OVERBOARD trying to make Vanessa likable. It’s NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

Omg Does they really think we need Vanessa’s mother?? Oh please. We don’t need even this boring and not pretty Vanessa. Blair&Chuck, Serena are stunning. Lily and Dan’s dad it’s Ok. But Vanessa’s family? Please, NO.
She’s gorgeous, she has gravitas and she has this presence. I loved her as the benevolent goddess Jade when she was on Angel.

Vanessa Abrams is the best gossip girl character. I love her. So happy for more Vanessa in season 3. HATERS keep hating we do not care.

Vanessa does not have 3 haters. She has 3 fans. Sadly but true. And I think this show is trying too much to make her likable. People hate her. My sister changes the channel when she’s on. Stop waisting screen time with her. And by the way, that woman is prettier than Vanessa. She looks cleaner too.

Hmm look like Jess kind of fried her hair a bit with a relaxer. Should have used a weaker one….sad. She’s exotic. I think she’s gorgeous but I guess that’ s just my personal opinion.
