Beyonce Puts A Ring on It at The 2009 VMAs
Beyoncé performs her hit song Single Ladies at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall as part of the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (September 13).
B rocked the house with her rendition of the smash hit - complete with the now famous leotards and hip shaking dance with two backup dancers. Other celebs in attendance took notice of her outstanding performance and thoughtfulness for giving Taylor Swift the spotlight she deserved. Katy Perry tweeted, “There’s a reason why Beyonce is my hero.”

seriously the woman of class tonight. she had a smile on her face the whole night and when she gave taylor a chance to finish her speech she stole my heart. Not to mention she killed it on stage.

@shenanyginz: the moment with Taylor was pure class, but come on, there are several times when she has the mike totally down and her ‘voice’ is still singing. and a few parts where the camera shows that she didn’t bother moving her mouth at all. total lip sync. at least when Madonna used to ’sing’ and dance she used a headset so the mike was by her mouth and you couldn’t totally see it was fake.
and that opening did nada for the song for me.

There is s reason this song was video of the year. It lives up to the saying that less is more. Beyonce doesn’t need fancy props and computer and movie graphics to do a “song” performance. After all it is supposed to be about the music.
Thousands of people copied and remade her video as they could see the difficulty and simplicity of the video and how catchy the song was. The steps were well choreographed and it was done in black and white. Which goes to show you….
Beyonce doesn’t follow a trends, she does what she is comfortable with and works her talents to the best of her abilities.
