Daniels totally nails the accent. Hugh has not.

# 4

lol, yes she belongs as a witch somewhere, anyway, her holiday is coming up soon, Oct 31st.

# 5

I love a family man! She is so lucky.

@re; video:
And you can tell that from a short clip? Wow, you are good…no, actually, not. I heard people who have seen the show who said both their accents were good. And accent isn´t important, it´s the performance that matters.
To the photos - I am glad Hugh can still find a time to spend time with his family even when he is a busy man. I really like this guy :-)

i would say accent is important as it’s part of the character. Why bother playing someone from Chicago if you can’t do the accent?

Furthermore, I have also seen the play and Daniel nails it. Hugh’s accent is very forced.

Danny, the character that plays Hugh is of Italian origin. It is not easy for an English-speaking to imitate the typical accent of the Latin idioms because they have a totally different phonetics. The same problem that I have when I try to reproduce the English accent (I’m Italian)
The audience doesn’t even imagine that it means for an actor to lose the concentration playing live. This is the second time that Jackman and Craig are disturbed by an idiot, the impolite ones should not go to theater

@to 6:
Well, some people who actually are from Chicago said that it´s Daniel who doesn´t sound right. How can you tell? Every accent is different - it even differs in the same town. You can give a text to ten people from the same town and they will never sound same. Reactions to both of their accents differ and I bet most of that people even doesn´t know how the “Chicago accent” sounds like. I know I wouldn´t since I am not even an English native speaker but I hear many different accents every day at work.

ugly was here

This is the second time that Jackman and Craig are disturbed by an idiot,

======================================================

I agree but, for training purposes only, maybe Hugh and Daniel should visit these threads and then they will get used to getting interrupted by idiots.

saw this on all that chat @ 09/28/2009 at 5:14 pm

Here are the thoughts of a person who actually IS from Chicago:

“I’m FROM Chicago - although I’ve been living on the UWS for a while, I still sound like it. Jackman pretty much nails the accent. Craig doesn’t quite get all of the r sounds that we hit all the time, but for the most part does a great job. I was a little worried that they would fail at it, and take me out of the show, but I thought I was sitting around with my father-in-law and his friends who are all cops.”

As was stated from #9, even a city has different accents.
Hugh is playing an Italian descent Chicagoan, Daniel is playing an Irish descent Chicagoan.

Two different origins of accents so hard to compare really.

love the way daniel’s hair is sticking up in the video, he looks like a little boy.

wed mother @ 09/28/2009 at 6:23 pm

My Dad was born and raised in Chicago and he doesn’t have any kind of distinct accent.

But what makes me laugh… Hugh and family going pumpkin picking by limo. How incongruous. And doesn’t Hugh look gay with that fanny pack around his waist and wrap around sunglasses?

@ 15

I kind of have to agree with you on Hugh looking a bit gay in those photos. I’ve never seen a man wrap a sweater around his waist. Ever. They either hold it in their hand or they tuck it between their arms. There’s nothing wrong with his sunglasses though.

@wed mother:
It´s not a limo but SUV. And you have never seen a guy wearing this? It´s pretty normal here in Europe if I can judge from I see every day.

Ava looks cute,with her my little ponies.People that don’t turn off their cell phones have zero class,Im glad they said something.

More poeple should adopt

what do you mean? Why am I jealous? who wants to be a celebrity?

I can’t believe the guy in the audience kept his cell on. It’s such a rude thing to do it ruins the show for everyone in the audience not just the actors. Congrats to Hugh for calling him out!

What a father an actor and gorgeous…
