Adam Lambert Splits with Boyfriend Drake LaBry
Adam Lambert and his boyfriend, interior designer Drake LaBry, are calling it quits, a source close to the couple exclusively tells JustJared.com.
“The relationship just ran its course,” says the source. “The break-up was mutual and amicable. They remain friends and still care for each other.”
Adam, who is dressing up tonight as a glammed-out vampire, is celebrating Halloween with singer pal Katy Perry, who is dressing up as the ass of a camel (it’s a two-part costume with actress pal Shannon Woodward).

Very sorry to hear that things didn’t work out for Drake and Adam as a couple but hopefully they will stay friends. The strain of a long tour, Adam working flat ot to release his album and being constantly thrust in the limelight must have taken its toll. Adam has millions of us to love him in his professional life, but I also want him to find love and happiness in his personal one. Good luck Adam in finding him!

when you’re in a relationship strictly for sex it does “run its course” really quick. there needs to be a deep friendship and compatibility along with the sex to have a lasting relationship.

Actually Drake was around during most–if not all–of AI. Celebrity makes stable relationships difficult. They probably didn’t get to see one another that much. Just hope Adam finds happiness with another close relationship.
Drake seems like a wonderful, creative and caring person, who has stuck by his boyfriend Adam for a long time, before Adam auditioned for Idol and reached this level of fame..

I could never ever see them together - the boy had no class. Honestly - didn’t he seem rather sleezy to anyone besides me. Of course I want Adam to be crazy happy - but not with a Klingon.

Everyone who has ever worked with Adam have nothing but nice things to say about him, he has countless friends and fans who love him, as well as a loving and supportive family. He always comes across as down to earth in interviews and he has helped raise a lot of money for charity even before he has received any proceeds from his album. This was a guy living in a bug infested studio apartment in Hollywood, has worked extremely hard, and deserves all the success he is receiving now. Why on earth must you attack his character, which has only been shown to be impeccable? And he even supports the other idols even though they may not do the same for him. That’s true character - he is extremely loving, caring, and supportive of others without expecting anything in return.
May I suggest for consideration: Neil Patrick Harris. He was standing by himself on the red carpet near where Adam was at the This Is It premiere. Neil just broke up with his boyfriend of five years. So he is available. He is bright, rich and cute. Just right for Adam. Just saying…..

When Adam came out I was not surprised at all because there were so many instances during AI that I found his movements kind of effeminate and his make-up on Ring of Fire Night was more than too much for me. Still, I like him because of his out-of-this-world singing talent and hoped that his being “gay” will not be a hindrance for him to reaching what his talent truly deserves.
When the paparazzi started exposing his activities with Drake, I was more than worried as those exposures won’t do good for his budding career knowing how cruel those paparazzi can become — they don’t give a damn whether their stolen shots or illegal coverage would do good or harm. And it was Drake that provoked Adam to exchange a kiss with him inside the car and though I know they both have the right to do their thing for “love,” I was hoping that they do their thingies in total privacy. So I thought then that Drake would be a great hindrance and TG (a million times), if this item is not just a rumour but real.
The thing is I like Adam no matter what his sexuality is because it is his talent that I so adore. I wish him the best of luck in finding a new love because I know that somehow being in love gives more inspiration. However, I hope that the new love of his life will not be as showy and as feminine as his ex in public.
Well, enough on Adam’s private affair… I am so excited for the day when I’ll have a hardcopy of his CD in my hands and I can’t wait for the AMA night so I could watch his stellar performance once again.

I am a straight man and though I hate to admit it, I am obviously smitten by Adam’s singing greatness and I could not agree more with what you have written. It’s enough for me to know that he is gay and I honestly don’t want to know more about what he does in his own private life. Breakups are hard so I hope that they are both okay emotionally. I thought that this was coming when I saw Adam on a platonic date with Katy Perry at the MJ premiere instead of with Drake. Adam’s life has changed so much rcently, and Drake’s hasn’t. That makes it hard to keep a relationship going. Jon Bon Jovi is one of the few rockers with a long-time stable relationship (married many years and four kids) and no affairs too. I think that right now Adam is concentrating on his new career and that takes up lots of his time. I’m glad that he and Katie are buddies, but I wonder if she has a crush on him. They are both so cute. My granddaughter thinks that they look like brother and sister.
Drake was far too cute for Adam. The only reason any guy would date Adam is because Adam is now famous. Adam is soon going to be 30 years which is 50 in gay years, and about 110 in dog years. Drake was cheating behind Adam’s back anyhow with cute guys.

On does he work? Yeah, as a waiter at The Villa, and then paints and supposedly does interior design - in other words, he doesn’t earn any money to speak of. Read recently he lives in an apartment without tv or internet. He is not in Adam’s league at all.
Adam can do much better and should not ’settle’. Adam is going to be a huge star and needs a partner who is able to successfully navigate that world..
I just am hoping that Adam does not go back to that Brad “cheeks” Bell guy. That guy is really too over the top now chasing fame. Hopefully, Adam’s friends will advise him not to do that. Not a big Drake fan, but as many said above, he is considered very cute in the gay community and like any really cute guy (or girl), he is accustomed to attention. Adam is too busy and Drake was not liking it. Many would feel that way. I’m beginning to be very sad about this. I always thought Adam could do much better, but Drake is probably considered a very desirable ‘catch’ by gays - just on his looks alone - ignoring that fact that he has no money. As a chorus boy in Wicked before Idol, Adam was earning well over $90,000/year. I doubt Drake has earned $90,000 total over the past 3 years. Well, you only need one primary earner in a relationship.

I think that Adam got what he needed out of the relationship and then kicked him to the curb..I wasn’t a huge Drake fan, but he was there all thru the Idol process supporting him and also for the tour..wow it only took him a little over a month to dump him once the tour was over…

Who knew when they met that Adam was about to hit the world stage in a such a huge way? Who knew when they met that Adam would have insane career opportunities and all the accompanying demands? What fledgling relationship begun under those circumstances could reasonably be expected to evolve and survive?
If Drake hadn’t met Adam, he’d still be in New Orleans, a virtual unknown. Drake, previously known as Adam Lambert’s boyfriend and still known as Adam Lambert’s ex-boyfriend, certainly wouldn’t be having his own art show in LA in a few weeks. Drake is definitely better off in more ways than one for having known Adam Lambert.
I wasn’t really liking Drake. He seems too into himself, Adam needs someone who will understand him and who will make him happy. I like Adam single, it lets him be closer to his fans. I wish I’d get a chance to date Adam, but hey so does every Lambert fan right? :-) Hope it goes well for you Adam. I’d hate to see you sad.
