Rain: Ninja Assassin Will Open More Doors
South Korean star Rain bares his chest and grits his teeth in this still from the upcoming movie Ninja Assassin.
The 27-year-old actor, who plays Raizo, an orphan turned deadly assassin, told the AP that he was inspired by Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan for his leading role in his first American film.
“I hope the movie reaches the No. 1 at the box office,” Rain shared, “but regardless of the numbers, it will open doors for more opportunities in Hollywood not only for myself but for other Asian actors.”
Ninja Assassin hits theaters next Wednesday (November 25)!

Movies like these tend to do well at the Box Office for whatever reason. Jet Li and Jackie Chan’s movies always do well, too. I hope it does well, too.

I was in his concert in Bangkok and it’ was a farewell concert to his career as a singer and entertainer. He was very talented.
He told us he would persue the Hollywood star and stop singing.
But he is neither the best Korean actor and nor even the most best looking one.
Well, I think he will doing WELL and thsi kind of film makes money although the story may be just stupid and the actors are just ok.

@becki: Yeah, he looks a lot like John Cho if you were blind and thought all asians looked the same. I’m going to predict minimal lines for him in this role like all the early Jackie Chan/Jet Li English movies.
I think that the movie is going to be famous, he’s a great actor,singer,dancer…etc etc…his work deserves to be recognized.

Matrix 1 was really good.
All the big asian celebs are getting older, they need to start replacing them, sad,but true. Hollyweird whitewashes so many movies etc. I am still mad that Chow from True Blood was not played by an asian like Takeshi Kaneshiro…oh to dream. And not everyone thinks Megan Fox is hot. Some men like classier women,inside and outside, not just women who clean up nicely,but still behave like they belong in a trailer park somewhere.

i ve watched a lot korean films and I loved them!i dont know about this movie but I hope it does well!If it does not do well its still ok, besides most Hollywood movies do not have class! I think he s hot, and a little different than what we ve seen already which is a good thing!

He totally kicks butt in the movie! What’s even more awesome is that even as he is hindered with the language, he speaks English flawlessly! So you can tell that took alot of modification on his part to speak that way, consider the difference with his interviews where you can see that indeed he’s still learning. Action scenes, changing his body, language… that takes alot of work and ambition, and I can only say go you!
I watch alot of asian cinema that usually don’t cross over to the US, and let me tell you there are so many amazing asian actors and I hope to see more :) More films with asian actors please.
