Reese Witherspoon Breakfasts to End Violence Against Women

Reese Witherspoon pretties up in RM by Roland Mouret‘s “Circe” dress for a breakfast meeting to launch the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women held inside the U.S Department Of State’s Benjamin Franklin Diplomatic Room in Washington D.C., on Wednesday morning (March 10).

The event is a collaboration between Avon, the State Department and Vital Voices, which works with women leaders in the areas of economic empowerment, women’s political participation, and human rights. I do admire her support of a great cause. What bad things can you say about that?

Reese, thank you for supporting this very important cause. The fact that she has taken the time matters. Reese has done some great roles in her career.

reese you are a disgusting woman, only reason she did this was for publicity, her publicist prolly called her and told her about this and the press she would get from it so she signed up for it, she is so self centered, all she cares about is herself!

@ke$haluv: This is part of Reese’s committment to Avon. She was in the British Parliment last year for the same reason.Whether you like Reese or not has nothing to say about the worthiness of the cause.

It’s going to take more than a breakfast get together to help fight the prevention of violence against women. If anyone has been watching or reading the news, you msut know of the double tragedy murders of two teenage girls by a registered sex offender. Laws need to be changed when dealing with predators arrested for sex crimes – first strike you are OUT! Lock the pervert away for good or better yet, put the monster down like a rabid animal. Domestic violence has to be treated harshly, and the abuser should be thrown into jail for a very long time. Women and girls need to take responsibility in their own safety by paying attention what is going on around them, learning self defense techniques and carrying a personal protection device such as a pepper spray or Mace. The law is obviously not going to protect women from harm, so we need to stand up and take care of ourselves.

Stingergirlz will be hosting the first annual Women’s Health and Safety Expo on Thursday, March 11th at the Carlsbad Seapointe Resort in North County San Diego. This is a non profit event with all proceeds going to Nettie’s House, a non profit organization devoted to helping women and children start a new life. To learn more about this event, visit http://www.stingergirlz.com/category/women_s_health_and_safety_expo/

If you have $20, an appetite, like to win prizes and interested in learning about self defense, anti-aging products, financial planning and relationship tips, this is the event for you.

@Pattycake:

well I knew it sure wasn’t her choice to go! LOL Reese is so self important, how can she get over gorgeous Jake in a month.

Reese and Avon can’t stop domestic violence alone!! If they can bring this very important cause to people’s attention then good for them. I’m sure it was her choice to go! Why wouldn’t she go support such an important cause – what is she too busy shopping like Rachel Bilson?? Also life goes on – with or without Jake!

Another personal appearance paid by Avon for the world’s phoniest Avon Lady. It’s amazing how Reese suddenly develped a charitable streak for women’s causes after she signed a multi million dollar contract with Avon. Guess when the Avon contract is over so is her charity work. And my God, her chin is growing longer by the day.

@Chrissy:

exactly, she is so easy to see thru, such a phony!

Thumb up Thumb down 0

She looks older.
BTW, she does this just for publicity.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

She makes 30+ million working for Avon.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

I keep reading that she is a “manipulative, controlling nightmare to live with” I always just assumed she was bland

Thumb up Thumb down 0

A great cause, but I still can’t stand her.

Reese Witherspoon doing PAID marketing for Avon and pretending she cares about something beside her publicity and bank account.

@ke$haluv: There was nothing to get over, Witherspoon’s “relationship” with Jake was just a fauxmance done for publicity – that boring woman sells cheap perfumes and wants tabloids to write about her.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

This is an excellent cause and it is good that Reese is bringing attention to it. I would like to see more celebrities and ordinary people getting involved. It’s healthy to give back.

Can’t stand that phony woman, she would use her dead grandmother to get some press and a few dollars more.

Thumb up Thumb down 0

She’s sooo sexy!!!!!!!! :)

She looks older, but Reese, thank you for supporting this very important cause. The fact that she has taken the time matters. Reese has done some great roles in her career.
