There are just some people who will never understand why fans like the couple and their family so much. These are Aniston fans, Oprah fans and just your usual ornery folks. The more we like them, the more they hate them. These are very unhappy people and they deserve every rotten inch of their misery.

As for the BAMZ+1 fans, go on being happy. When I read the comments on the Oprah boycott of the couple, it made my day. The ones who were down on Oprah were people from all over the world. Posters were coming in from different countries. Now who could solicit such attention from anyone?

Oprah knows they are the "biggest get " as Kathy Crosby confirmed from Diane Sawyer on an interview. Every talk show host are dying to get one or the couple for an interview. Oprah must have realized she's burned her boat with that pity party for Jennifer. No way will Brad or Angie appear on her show now so she's trying to appear as if it was her and not them who dissed who first.

Um, I've never really posted on this forum before, but I have to say that Brad looks amazing in these photos. Part of the reason is that for the past few months he (and Angie too) have been dressing so modestly. So that when he finally shows us a little bit of skin, we're ALL drooling.

I was really expecting her NOT to answer as she did, and I would have been very cool with her saying "oh, I really like Chicago,....or.....I always wanted to live in NYC." I have heard of a study saying that people, women who watch Oprah are insecure and depressed. I don't know if they start that way or due to watching too much Oprah. I really think that Angelina & Oprah could have had (and may have...never say never) a rather interesting interview.

They do share an important interest in helping in Africa, and on that issue they could do a whole show. I can't invision AJ on her show with and audience, but one on one, it could be interesting.

I really loved Cynthia Mcfadden more then any other person AJ's spoken with. They seem to have a very genuine flow between them, and that would be my first choice (like I have one lol).

Jennifer Aniston told Access' Nancy O’Dell that she doesn’t want anyone's pity, that she might leave L.A. and that she and Brad Pitt are not in a race to the altar.

"They find a picture of you with a tissue, and it's, 'Oh, Jen's having a breakdown,'" Jen laughed, about the tabloid's obsession with her every move.

"And you just wanted to blow your nose or something," Nancy laughed.

"They're so hilarious," Jen agreed. "I mean they do start to get comical after a while. I mean, I'm apparently having an $8 million wedding. There's the guest list, there's the china, there’s the food. Everything's been broken down. It's a race! Who will win?"

Cheery and real, Jen had no problem answering all Nancy's burning questions while promoting her new film.

If anyone is planning on taking naked photos of Jennifer Aniston, he or she may like what they see, but should beware the consequences.

"A guy takes a photograph of you from a mile away right, topless in your backyard," Billy Bush said. "I think anyone would relate to you being outraged. It's completely an invasion of privacy of the highest order."

"Yeah," Jennifer agreed.

"What about it really makes you mad?" Billy asked.

"What makes me mad is that this guy, he has the balls to go, he had a telephoto lens and stand across a canyon and takes a photograph of anybody!" Jennifer said. "It's about setting a precedent. That's all it is. It's ridiculous. It's insane."

And it also has Jennifer fighting mad. She has filed a suit against photographer Peter Brandt, claiming he used "invasive, intrusive and unlawful measures" to take the photos. Consider it a clear sign from a star who has had enough.

"Isn't it against the law?" Billy asked.

"There are privacy laws," Aniston said.

"To use something you can look at Saturn with?" Billy joked.

"Absolutely," Jennifer agreed. "And the magazines that publish the photos are liable as well. They try to slip through the cracks. They just try to get away with it. They're little weasels and it's enough.

They can't do it. And this one guy... oh, I don't want get into it, but I won't stop at anything. When it comes to my personal privacy and anyone else's personal privacy, I'll set the precedent. I don't care. I would much rather not let anybody get away with that."

"It's because you're a celebrity, it's because you're famous that this happens," Billy said. "Knowing all that, is acting worth it?"

And the truth is, Jen is going in the opposite direction by releasing four movies in eight months, including "Rumor Has It" on Christmas Day.

"Rumor" is the movie Jen was shooting, when things began to go wrong in her marriage to Brad Pitt.

"This is just a very strange period of time that there's just a heightened interest for whatever shallow reason," Jen told Billy. "It's silly. It's enough. It's silly, especially considering what else is happening in the world.

That would be giving power to something that's absolutely not real. This is a really good life. I wouldn't give it up for those knuckleheads."

Good evening Ladies (and Gentlemen)
I am posting this evening there are something I’d like to say but before that I’d like to put it out there that I am not anyone’s fan. As a matter of fact, the only reason I am posting today is because of the events that took place in the last thread. This site was brought to my attention by one of my students, I am lawyer and I also teach law on a part time basis. A month and a half ago, my student walked in and proceeded to show me this site, you can imagine my surprise when I saw it was a celebrity site. She was interested in the pictures, she was interested in the debate or should I say debating styles. As I continued to read the post, I realized what she was talking about and soon I find myself reading the posts. As a lawyer, it was interesting to see the back and forth arguments and how things were handled. I have also roped in a couple of my associates and they agree with me that it is indeed fascinating. One of them said to me, forget about schools maybe we should start hiring of the web.

Going back to the events of last night that I mentioned above, the 1000th mark post, as I am unfamiliar with the rules of web posting, I don’t know what it means. What I do know is all the ladies came together to do this and they seemed happy. I thought to myself, this is what life is about, finding a common goal with people of lack minds and having fun with it. As I am not much of a computer person, I have sought my juvenile pleasure elsewhere. Pleas don’t be thrown off by my use of the word juvenile, because I use it in a good context. The world is changing so fast and it seems the responsibilities of life come a lot earlier forcing us to grow fast. It is only natural we’d seek something that takes our mind off the hectic day to day life. With that said and done, I’ll get to my point, which is more like of an observation. Now for the purpose of this, I’d like to define some term I will be using.
The arguments I will call a Case, the case before us is about the coupling of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. The defendants are of course the fans of the couple and the prosecutors are the people who are not fans. As I am not a fan and I don’t pay attention to what has been going on. The little I know I got from your postings but this is not about what happened to these people. My interest lies in the contents of your posts. From my observations I have noticed this.

THE PROSECUTORS: In my experience, the prosecutors always seem to have an advantage. All they have to do is lay out the facts of the case and pound the point across. Now I am aware that this is not a courtroom but it does have all the drama of one. The prosecutors in this case are not doing that. Go out there, find some facts, tear their arguments into shreds. Read their posts and soon enough, you’d find flaws in what they say. Use that against them, there are so many cases that have been won because of a slip from the other party. Paying attention, that is the key. You believe a crime has been committed, in all appearance it seems a crime has been committed, why are you losing? I’ll tell you why, you have not banded together. It is like everyday a new prosecutor comes into the case without conferring with the other counsel and the reason you have not done that is because you have not admitted that you have taken up the case. You make it seem like you are ashamed to be on the case. That attitude will not help you win.

THE DEFENSE: You are obviously doing a very good job with your fact findings, you’ve got the people who take the prosecutor’s argument apart and despite only meeting online, you people have bonded. Your support one another’s post and that is why it seems like your team winning this case. I use the word seems because I have also seen the tide turn a winning team to a losing team and most often than not, it is always one thing that makes this happen – Arrogance. You are getting cocky and what this does is it makes the other party angry and more determined. No matter our stupid there arguments are, treat them with respect. There are also chances of losing your credibility if you continue to trade insults with the posters whose purpose is to be despicable; what I see going for you is that you have some major players, who are really good at different areas. You have also got people from different cultures and countries; this I think is a plus. Most importantly, you have admitted that you are on the case, this is why your posts an element of fun.

Now, I hope you don’t mind that have taken a few posts and the corresponding counter posts, for my classes. Law is an old profession and the way it is taught is even older, so it is up to the professor to find ways of making it fun and a few of my students have found this to be so. I hope this does not make you lose hope in the legal system because I am only using this as an aid to show that there are no open and shot cases.

I would like to post this on a site for those I refer to as the prosecutors but I can’t find anyone or maybe I don’t know where it is. If there is one, you have my permission to post it.

Before I stop, I will share lawyer trick with you: Winning is about circumventing the facts. May the best team win and also know there are people who have taken an intrest in what is going on here.

# 129 | An Observer -you are so full of it...in this country legal system, you are innocent until proving guilty...in order for the " prosecutor" to have a case they must have evidences, proof of a crime committed, witness......but in this case, they have nothing, only hearsay, rumors and tabloids trash....I am glad that our legal system do not rely on those sources for this case, because they will be the laughing stock in the legal worlds and the "defense" will not need to say anything, because the judge will throw the case in the "prosecutor's face" and slab with a sanction as well.

Beautiful and sensual Brad, makes me remember when i was a teen and fell in love with him. When he married Jennifer he lost his magic to me.

This is the first time I have ever viewed this site and the reason I decided to take a look was to check up and see if Brad and Angelina were really broken up or not. However, after having photo after photo of Brad Pitt's arse thrown in my face, I scrolled down and noticed how many people actually took the time to post their inane comments on these kind of sites.

LOL, you idiots will say anything. The women and girls that I know who watch Oprah, and this is a pattern I've noticed for more than 10 years, is that they are all highly smart and successful. Rex, I don't think she is really happy. She made some really bad choices in the past few years and I think she knows it now. It's good for Brad because he's with a much more compatible person who shares his goals, but JA really blew it.

I think idf some people go back and read the post, it explained clearly how the Brad/Angelina fans were doing a lousy job of presenting their reasons for disliking the couple. They complimented us on how we defended Brad/angelina with facts. While I am no lawyer I have take a couple law courses in college. I thought the post was in accordance with terms used in our legal system.

Whether this person is telling the truth in why he postes, for now i will treat him fairly since i felt the post fairly portrayed what was going on.

In regards to #129, wow you're getting so many responses, you're saying the defense is winning because they are coercing together or banding together or supporting each other or making up "good" arguments (will disagree with you on that last one).


The defense is psychotic. Plain and simple. They have nothing better to do with their lives and have no real friends or have experienced hate from people so they are lashing out their own problems indirectly at everyone else.


The prosecuters, as you'd like to call them, are not trying to band together because they have no secret agenda to argue with anyone. They are here to state their opinions and leave. They simply are not obsessed and simply have better things going on in their lives than to spend time on a blog filled with crazy people of all places. If they receive a response to one of their posts, they either DON'T read them because the responses are mostly ugly and childish or they do respond back shortly KNOWING that these psychotic defendants who are blinded by the crime (such as a woman who justifies killing her husband for no valid reason only a psychotic one or parents who justify locking their kids in a wired fence in their room because they didn't want the kids to get out and hurt themselves or people who supported not allowing capital punishment on a gang member who killed tons of people but developed a heart of gold in the end or some African Americans or crazy fans supporting OJ Simpson or the fed up, tempermental cops who beat up an old black man) will answer the prosecutors back with hateful words and these prosecutors simply don't have the time to argue with looney people.

It's extremely biased and unprofessional for Oprah to take personal sides on a celebrity coupling and uncoupling - if in fact, she allowed herself to be so freaking petty. Freaking hell, Hollywood is littered with couples who couple and uncouple - many under compromising circumstances. Is she going to pass judgment on every celebrity where she ends up with only her BFF Gayle King to interview? She interviewed Meg Ryan to talk about her cheating. I guess that made for good tv as long as Oprah wasn't friends with Dennis Quaid. She interviewed Garth Brooks, a serial groupie cheater. And she probably swayed and sang aloud along with Garth in his performance. (What the hell is up with people singing along with professional singers? Don't they want to hear the PROFESSIONAL singer singing and not their own voices?)

I'll reserve actually believing the rumor but let it be known, I can't stand Oprah's self-importance even before any of her supposed celebrity endorsement. Next, Oprah will challenge Good Housekeeping's seal of approval with her own Oprah big-head label.

I believe Oprah began to lose her fan base with her attention-grabbing and self-serving manipulation of that Hermes incident. Oprah was too pampered in her Ivory Tower to recognize her perceived snubbing for the ordinary no-entry of a closed store. Though she got some praise for FINALLY admitting her mistake with James Frey (with a lot of arm-twisting and public humiliation, mind you), she again lost some credibility. Look at the damning words that Bruce Willis shot at her. I may be on the opposite side of Bruce on his politics, but he sure spoke for me about what Oprah did to James.

I saw an unscripted, unrehearsed moment between Angie and Cynthia when they were exchanging words outside the door of the building they had came out of. Cynthia remarked that Angie looked beautiful and she would talk to Jenny. Since then, I've learned that Cynthia McFadden is an adopted child herself. Seeing that she is professional, I'm sure her adopted status had no bearing in the interview. I've known and watched Cynthia since she was on ABC Primetime Live, when she often did legal stories with her legal background. She has the goods.

ITA Cindy2, she is really inconsistent in her interviews, as you put it bluntly totally lying at times. I just saw her on the insider, and she compares i think the media frenzy to a "cancer". What an analogy, it just doesnt make sense to me. I find that odd since Julia was pregnant with George's baby in the last movie.

First off, am not American but in any legal system that is patterned after the US system, its always been that the burden of proof lies on the prosecutor. Although I'm not in the legal profession but I know that in litigation, if the prosecutor cannot present enough evidence & have legal basis to prosecute then, the case has no legs to stand upon and it won't probably amount to a hearing.

Its been a year and I don't like to talk about her but since somebody brought her up and in line w/ the prosecution-defense discussion I'm going to touch on her and my apologies to everyone who would rather prefer her file closed in 2005. The thing about this phenomenon is that BP & AJ are very interesting individually and news worthy and when you put them together we've got an explosive story indeed. Both of them multi-faceted individuals and that allows people to talk about other issues that had been mentioned esp. AJ.

The Pitt-Aniston divorce was planned and started out as friendly but Aniston did not follow the script. For some reason or the other she believed in her own hype or her PR team thought they could bolster her entrance into HW as a movie star by going w/ the pity/sympathy angle. This maybe an unpopular opinion but I think Aniston is not as dumb or should I say her team is not as stupid as we think. She knows her limitations. IMO, she’s one calculating broad but her overconfidence and her penchance to talk and share will be her downfall. But I digress.

Aniston & co had to move fast and do her spill ‘cuz she knows she can’t talk once the divorce is final. Hence, VF article was moved from November issue to August?? (correct me on this one pls), else she’ll be breaking a confidentiality agreement. So, she had her friends do the dirty work for her and Bennetts helped also – she just contented herself w/ the likes of the sensitivity chip comment. Mind you, she back-pedaled a lot on the VF issue since then.

Aniston thought she had the edge when the sympathy poured in after her VF tell all. They never realized you can only play the victim card for such a time. America is not so keen on the continued whining and pity party (I’m confining it to the US ‘cuz she’s not that well known worldwide). Another thing that I don’t agree w/ Aniston is that she complains about the media attention but she continues to cultivate it. After a year, she’s got the right to say NO COMMENT. Sadly, she's one dimensional and not really a talented actress at that. So I guess, with just her talking by alluding to her ex and his to promote her movies, she’s I guess the next best thing that the entertainment shows and tabloids can offer. And with mediocre talent, she's too old to compete w/ the starlets and up& coming actresses....and if she's not careful she'll end up like Tara Reid.

Lastly, let’s remember that this is a case wherein only one party is talking and the other side of the fence is not participating. Aniston puts herself in the position as the aggrieved party by airing her complaints in public yet cries foul when her case is heard in trial by publicity and condemns the public (as judge and jury) for questioning and investigating her actions and words and pass their judgment.

NEW YORK -- Morgan Freeman has friends in high places.

Celeb pals Brad Pitt, Ben Affleck and Laurence Fishburne have donated sleek, custom-made motorcycles to an online charity auction to benefit a planned memorial in Washington for the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.

"People are always quoting" King, Freeman said in an interview Monday with The Associated Press. "He's remembered as our prince of peace, of civil rights. We owe him something major that will keep him and his memory alive."

The four bikes - two from Affleck and one each from Pitt and Fishburne - are up for bid on the Charity Folks Web site through Friday, Freeman said.

Freeman, who won an Oscar for his role in "Million Dollar Baby," said he hopes "people will overbid" for a good cause.

Other celebrity items are being offered in the auction, including wedge-heeled shoes designed and signed by Jennifer Lopez and a DVD of "Catch Me if You Can" signed by Tom Hanks.

The memorial will be built on the National Mall, according to the Web site for Build the Dream, which is promoting the project. The centerpiece of the memorial, the "Stone of Hope," will feature a 30-foot likeness of King.

Its location will create a visual "line of leadership" from the Lincoln Memorial, where King gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, to the Jefferson Memorial, the Web site says.

Groundbreaking is scheduled this year, with the goal of dedicating the site in 2008.

I was the observer who posted on #129. After my post yesterday, I have been unable to get on this site, so when I came back during my lunch break, I was horrified by some of the responses I got. I want to clear the air and apologize for miss leading you. A couple of post mentioned that I wasn’t a lawyer, they are right. I am not but I will be in a few years. Everything else that was written in the post is true. One of my classmates did show our professor a couple of your posts a few months ago and she used it for one or two lectures. She did say all those things about the defense and the prosecutor, and she thought the arguments were interesting. The more we got into it and talked about it, the more I felt obliged to dole out my unsolicited advice.

Another poster wrote that I made some mistakes and that I blame on the nervousness of not only posting on a board like this but pretending to be someone else. I would be doing my professor a disservice is I didn’t correct that. She is an intelligent and I wouldn’t want to leave the impression that out there in a university is a law Professor who sounds ignorant. I believe my attempt to come off as more knowledgeable generated the opposite effect. I apologize for that.

I was troubled after I read some post that asked if poster 129 was messing with them, that was never my intention. My classmate and I are very intrigued by what is happening here and was confirmed for us after our professor agreed. It never occurred to me that my post will take a life of its own.

Another post, I believe some one from the “prosecutor” said the prosecutors don’t need to bond because they say what they have to say and leave. That is not entirely true; the same people do come back and post the same thing. If you do support one another maybe you’d make headway.

An of the advice about looking at other people’s post for flaws was made evident, when one of the prosecutors wrote something to the effect of “who don’t have to support one another like you do because we are not obsessed” and another poster agreed “Yes, I agree with you” then one of the fans wrote “isn’t it funny how you both agree on the fact that you don’t agree”. That was small but it shows that there are flaws everywhere. If you say you are not engaged in this to win or even change someone’s mind, then why do any of you engage in this debate? There is always a motive behind an argument or debate, so what is the motive behind this?
What do the Prosecutors want to achieve? Is it the admission that there was indeed an affair? That one party was terribly wronged? If this is not your objective then it is pointless being here.

What about the defense? What do you want to achieve? An admission that there was no affair? That these are not terrible people? What?

Again I apologize for my deceit but everything else stands. I will return to my position as an interested observer.

While it's true that this is a blog site and not a fan, the nature of the pictures draws many BAMZ fans/supporters. They make up the majority of the posters here. Your use of words like "prosecutors" and "defense" I believe are not especially relevant here as there is no "trial" in as much as it is an ONGOING debate, which BAMZ Supporters especially relish and excel.

I want to be fair and honest here as much as I can. There is quite a bit of "hating" going on from both camps that are mostly attempts to either score fast points off the other side by use of profanity, name calling, derogatory comments or known lies. These are not debates. These type of posts are meant to fire an emotional response/retaliation, not intellectual debate. These type of posts are prevalent throughout the internet on sites such as Perez/H or FF.

Who are these negative posters and why do they feel a need to express their opinions so negatively? I believe that here are 2 types of negative posters actually. The first type of poster are fans whose emotional response is high and are acting/reacting instinctively in support of their stars. They shoot at the hip with their response, no thinking or logic required. The second, more insidideous negative poster, are the posters who may have an opinion but the opinion is only secondary to getting the desire response they seek. Their main pleasure comes from inciting others. These type of posters use repetitive posts as well as deliberately inflammatory comments, sometimes with no apparent point of reference, as part of their methods. Both of these type of posters could be either JA(mostly counting the numbers) or B&A fans.

Who then are the positive and/or logical/rational posters? As stated earlier because of the nature of these photos, Brad and Angelina and their family, this site tends to draw more BAMZ fans/supporters. Most are ordinary positive posters who come to look at the pictures and leave positive posts. A very few are JA supporters who may or may not be B&A supporters. A considerable number, however are positve/rational B&A supporters who like to debate the issues at hand regarding this couple, their situation, their family, their interests, the media, the fans and just about anything else relating to them.

It may be a bit unfair here, just because of the sheer numbers, to compare debates between B&A fans and JA fans. But I will point out differences that seem apparent in the fan base. B&A fans appear to be more well-rounded and well-read. Their sources for data seem to come more from actual interviews and more reputable publications or sources. They are more "open" minded in regards to society "mores" and "morals". This may or may not apply generally to all B&A and JA fans. Ahhh, I feel another good debate coming on!

Speaking strictly for myself I find your logic on why we do this to be flawed. Why do we need a reason for supporting BAMZ or hating them? People like what they like (or dislike) intuitively. I'm not here trying to change anyone else's mind. I'm just here to state my opinion and to concur or disagree with other people's opinions. I don't think any of us are expecting to get anything out being on this blog (except possibly a few chuckles). That's an unrealistic goal because in order to get something out of being here we'd have to have something tangible to win or lose and there isn't anything. Unless, of course, you count the satisfaction of being right. And that goal is not something that's going to be immediately clear. It may be years, if ever, before BP/AJ break up. The longer this relationship lasts the more the frenzy of interest will wane. That's just human nature.

Ava R, I get what you are trying to say, even if I am a little skeptical about your own motives. How exactly does this help you? I guess what I am trying to say is this, this...our debate does not come close to being a court case. We try to refute illogical arguements with logical ones. I don't believe this is the kind of arguement anyone can expect a winner.

On the other hand, you made a few good points, we do try to stay away from resorting to insults even though it is becoming increasingly difficult to sit idle, reading posts that wish death on an unborn child or cancer on AJ/BP. The immature posts that call Z an ugly baby or maddox fugly are very annoying. As I am not sure what your point is, I will err on the side of caution and stop here for now. I do hope you drop in once in awhile, if only to answer some of these questions.

I saw the commercial probably like everyone else did. It had all these different actors and famous people talking about poverty and AIDS in black and white. I was intrigued because not only did they ask for me to support them but the name of the organization looked very familiar, my Greek letter also spells ONE (theta nu xi). The ONE Campaign is an organization to rally Americans to support our lawmakers, when making innovative decisions about foreign policy. Especially policies that will affect how the United States gives to countries in need. Led by Bono and Brad Pitt, the ONE Campaign got my attention.
Maybe it was that song by U2 and with everyone dancing with iPods, it also could have been the fact that Pitt was finally single. But for some reason none of that mattered more to me than Angelina Jolie's involvement. I mean for the last four years she's been out of the spotlight, and under the paparazzi's radar. But then she did this movie with Pitt, called Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and she became my guilty pleasure for the rest of the summer.

Being my guilty pleasure didn't only mean I read every gossip magazine I could get my hands on in the grocery aisle. I brought her book too, yes Angelina Jolie can write among other things. Notes from my Travels: Visits with Refugees in Africa, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Ecuador, moved me in a way that no other book had last summer, not even the ones for my classes.

Jolie, who claims not to be a writer, does an awesome job of putting you in the shoes of those who work for United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. After finishing the book in 48 hours and dried my tears I was motivated to find ways to help. The ONE Campaign commercial came on again and it clicked in my head. I did not want to just sign a petition and leave it up to the politicians I wanted to put my whole weight behind this movement. That book made me realize that it's not just me and my problems in the world there truly are others out there who are less fortunate that I. That stuff your mother told you about children not eating in Asia was true and still is unfortunately. Jolie currently a U.N. Goodwill Ambassador has taken philanthropy to a whole new level and then she teams up with Pitt.

This couple is making moves to change the world for the better. I know because some how watching a movie and reading one book changed me, to the better I think. Who said that celebrities are a bad influence? I want to join the Peace Corp and there is no shame in that. I think sometimes we forget just how powerful one person can be, Pitt and Jolie reminded me of that. The ONE Campaign works off this premise too. If they can just get you to sign their petition once, to visit the website, or to wear the white armband then their job is done, because they know some one will see it and tell their friends. And just like that your simple click of a button makes a huge statement to the people in Congress and all over the world.

According to ABC news today, our beloved Brad will be narrating the six part series, Design:e2 on PBS to air this June. This documentary will hopefully promote environmentally friendly architecture.

Just a comment about displaced refugees in the US. I used to do brain research and one of my co-workers told me a disheartening story concerning Africans that were sent here from Rwanda and other countries-This was also the case of Haitians -Many were housed in very poor neighborhoods-few spoke English -They were given a stipend and some clothes from catholic charities, but there was no way to aclimate them to our way of living-Many were very well disciplined and were begging for work to do. On the thread where Angelina is holding the book, I read that perhaps it has come to ehr attention that the money she is sending is not being utilized as well as it could be-I believe this because I have friends who do mission work and many items that they bring for those who live in poverty are confiscated at the airport-anyway my opinion is that instead of celebrities jumping on the bandwagon to do charity work because it is popular, they should sit down and design exactly what cause they are going to support and how their monetary support is going to be utilized-they should hold everyone involved accountable for every penny-just a comment-love BAMZ+1or2

Malibumom, unfortunately that is one of the issue that needs to be ironed out. Sometimes, it get very frustrating because these people really need help. Apart from the money, these people need education....some form of enpowerment. They need to be guided on ways to help themselves, which is one of the reasons I like Aj. I read an article where she supplied women with sewing machines, this was a big step. I was so upset when one of the stupid post brutally rebuffed this act. These people have been living under dictatorship, where their opinions don't matter and that sewing machine, the sewing lessons goes a long way in restoring their esteem which gives them the confidence to rule themselves. The manner in which these funds are dispensed is not exactly "uneducated friendly" if you know I mean. How is a mother with three children under 5 with no formal education, expected to fill out a proposal for the money? The red tapes works in more advanced countries but not in this countries. These people get very discouraged and don't bother anymore. It is heartbreaking when you see the suffering and you know there is money to alleviate it. The only problem is how do they go about it. There is a long standing issue of state corruption and bureaucratic incompetance in administrating and managing this money. What would be ideal is to have the money disparsed the moment it is donated.

It is one thing to donate, it is quiet another to the time to monitor how it is being distributed. Again, AJ has proved that she not only talk the talk, she walks the walk. She may not know how to go about addressing this issue but she is willing to learn.
I remember my dad getting really frustrated because of the lack willing people (not money, mind you) to help. It actually became rite of passage of of sorts for me and my siblings (and friends) to volunteer in smaller towns. Of course it wasn't as grand as the as the real workers but I'd like to think it helped somehow.

Regarding Nicole Kidman, Have you listened to any of her interviews? I saw her on Charlie Rose promoting one of her movies (the hour?), IMO she is very beautiful and very classy, but not as attractive as AJ. AJ seems more interesting to me. That shows that BP is not attracted to a woman just because of her physical appearance only. Remember he said he admires her for her charity work and for being a great mom?

European doctor is as good as the American doctor, so I don't think she need to fly one. It's alright to shift to another doctor during pregnancy as long as you have your previous medical record and sono record with you. The new doctor in charge could even e-mail or called up her previous doctor if there's confusion. I don't think Angie is giving birth in recent weeks. her bump are still high and small compare to those in 9-10 months, look at Katie Holme bump, low and very big, that's the one who will be giving birth anytime in this week.

Hey thanks original curious. Actually, I wouldn't mind more people putting up headers identifying their long posts. You're reading and not knowing whose post it is until you reach the end. With more and more regulars posting daily, I'm trying my best to keep track of everyone's opinions. By the time I get here, there is so much I have to read quickly through, while slowing down at the posts from the people I recognize.

Anyway, as you may have gathered, I'm full of ideas that only I think are worth anything. So, I'll just have to live with scrolling down a long post to find the author and scrolling back up to read it from the beginning.

On post #129 of the author claiming to be a law professor, I wouldn't put too much on the perfection of spelling or grammar. Lawyers are lawyers, but like many professionals, the writing skills can vary across the board. Some professional writers are notorious bad spellers but they have a way with words. The only profession I would expect perfect or near-perfect grammar is English teachers.

I think the "lawyer" did give an objective view but it wasn't anything that we, ourselves didn't know. Prosecutors (i.e., the haters) circumvent the facts in their arguments. Check. Prosecutors morph into "new" prosecutors even though we know they are the same three persons. Check. Check. We've said that. Defense presents factual arguments. Check. Been there, done that. Defense bonds into a community. Check. Arrogance as the Achille's Heel. Nothing new there. Arrogance has been the downfall of empires, CEOs (e.g., Larry Kozlowski with Tyco) and many other people big and little.

What's strange to me is that a part-time law professor would use a blog as a case study. I don't know. The Supreme Court rulings aren't fascinating enough? Now see, I would watch Supreme Court proceedings on CSPAN if the SC would allow television coverage. Then, I could see the fraud that Clarence Thomas is on the bench.

As for debating styles, I could think of plenty of other sites that are more deeply debated and on point than arguing over the love triangle of celebrities. Noam Chomsky, for one. Atheist sites, for another, are great forums to follow orderly point-by-point debates without all the sideshow personal insults and attacks. Even the forums on Huffington Post's site are more substantiative. That's not to devalue anything my fellow BAMZ peeps do here but at the end of the day, we're in a tug-of-war over celebrities. A gossip blog? Sorry, even while I'm actively in some of the debates, I could see the bigger picture that our arguments are ultimately trivial in the grand scheme of life. We may be a show of social behaviors, but so is a playground.

malaya, indeed, the burden of proof is in the hands of the prosecutor. And for criminal cases, the proof must be beyond a reasonable doubt. Considering a criminal knows more about the crime and the tendency of the criminal to cover up his tracks, the prosecution is actually the one at a disadvantage. Of course, anybody who knows criminal cases knows that there has been a history of corrupt prosecutors trumping up charges and framing disadvantaged, destitute fall guys (who easily fall in line with juror prejudices). Still, it is up to the prosecutor to prove his/her case beyond a reasonable doubt and in civil cases, a preponderance of evidence. In other words, the so-called lawyer/part-time professor either misstated the justice system or plainly miseducated.

Jen's VF had to be released earlier than planned because of a leak she would spill the beans to cite Brad did cheat. How salacious! How scandalous! Page Six ran that rumor to the ground. But I wonder, who actually leaked that tidbit to Page Six? Page Six is a gossip mill but it rises above the Star and National Enquirer level by actually relying on sources.

Certainly, that hype generated more interest than just another television actress shilling her movie. It was no surprise that Vanity Fair issue became its best seller (it's only around 670,000 units so don't get that excited Team Aniston; the revenue from the sale doesn't even cover the editor's annual salary).

You won't hear me disagreeing with anything you say about Jen because I take a guilty pleasure with your takedown of her. As I've told you before at that wretched site, you are a wonderful writer. I'm glad you found your way here. There are a couple of other people there I would like to see migrate to here, as well. You're the best among the lot so I'm satisfied.

We all could post our opinions on a board with the idea that our opinions are so important that they deserve broadcasting. What else is the need to publicize our opinions anyway with real life friends and family to share these views? The else is the connection we make with other voices. Otherwise, we would be posting in a vacuum where nothing would be heard or read. But the difference that we learn from each other's experiences and perspectives does enrich our lives. Because of the convergence of strangers around the world in a conducive medium, we're allowed this place to converse with people we wouldn't normally be able to meet with such regularity. I mean, certainly, I doubt any of us would naturally talk to the stranger sitting next to us on a plane or bus (if you are, stop talking to me! kidding) or the person standing next to us in a public line.

Yet, it's natural and easy to talk on the net to people whose faces we don't see. Nevertheless, there is a realness of the bonds we've made. Many of us have become cyber friends, as loosely as I might use "friends." The advantage is that we all don't have to be in sync with our times. We don't have to make any time to meet to shoot the breeze. That's not to say it's not better to be face-to-face, as physicality has an inherent comfort that cannot be replaced by space (er, except when someone has body odor).

I don't know what is so difficult to understand the natural social behaviors of humans to question why we keep coming back in our daily lives to connect with others. No one is obsessed. If anybody thinks her life is so much better, then don't get involved in our "obsessed" activity by posting yourself. I could easily be strictly an observer at forums where I haven't bonded - as I've done at Brad and Angie's fan sites.

Okay, African Girl, I'm adding to your thought-provoking post to further the discussion.

Unfortunately, there is corruption everywhere. Power and greed corrupt. It's naive and smug to cite just the UN or aid agencies as corrupt (which I've often seen), as if corruption were absent from every thread of the fabric of our society. We have corruption in the government and justice levels and corporations and yes, even American charities. Red Cross has been muddied with fraud of theft and scams. Katrina relief supplies and funds have been diverted by not just Red Cross volunteers but paid employees. Then, do I need to run through the list of American legislators and executives who have been convicted in this year alone? Jack Abramhoff alone represents the sleaze of how our government is operated.

As for waste of money, nobody wastes money better than our government. Billions of dollars in Iraq funds can't be accounted for. Government contracts that should be subjected to bids often are not with no-bid defense contracts ala Haliburton. Toilet seats are bought for thousands of dollars when they could be had for less than $20 bucks at Home Depot. To think, we actually have a watchdog governmental agency called the General Accountability Office, better known as the GAO, that is supposed to monitor and investigate public spending. But fraud and corruption is still a problem.

So, it happens no matter how democratic and legitimate an organization is. I don't have the answers or solutions except the reliance on checks and balances. Never give anybody sole power or responsibility over funds. Be sure there are frequent external audits and change auditors to prevent any possible collusion.

Time and time again, I see the simplest solution for people to rise above poverty is the availability and the embracing of fundamental education. Education provides the means and the skills for people to make a living. For population control, nothing beats the education of women to give them the confidence and the knowledge to break out of traditional, babymaker roles. The lowest fertility rates in the world can be found among the highly educated and most literate populations. In agrarian cultures with high infant mortality rates, it's more important to have as many children as possible both for labor and a hedge against the high mortality rates.

So, it's not much a mystery as to where the money should go - infrastructure and education. But it is never enough and not always easy to deal with circumstances and the difficulties unique to the hot spots around the world. Regardless, choose your charities wisely and be sure you investigate those charities to ensure they are spending a high proportion of the donations on the programs themselves and not to administrative and fundraising expenses. A good start is to refer to this site:

Ensightful post as always....its been a great ride isn't it? I had fun fighting the good fight w/ you & the other BAMZ regulars (now +1) at that other site that shall never be mentioned.

I don't consider posting in blogs and sites as an obssession rather I would call it more as a diversion. I was never much into celebrity until this B&A paired up in M&MS. I would even say that my fascination w/ BAMZ+1 has kindled my interest on other issues and points of interests that are put in the discussion table w/in the periphery of our discussions regarding BAMZ+1.

I think people converged and bonds w/ other posters because they make a connection w/ one another despite race, nationality and distance. This is our global village wherein we meet, discuss, argue and make interesting, fruitful conversations most of the time and somehow maybe, make a difference too on what people think or look at issues or points of discussions.

IMO it shouldn't be such a surprise for anyone to see that there are people who become "cyber friends" because they share common interests. I would even be more surprise and perplexed if such a connection does not occur along the way. It is normal for us human beings to make connections (in the advent of the Information Superhiway this our village pub, where people hang out to chit-chat, discuss things though not face-to-face). As what has been often said, "human beings are naturally coalitional (clanish/tribal - natural tendencies to form a group) and that huge portions of the mind are devoted to the problem of navigating the social world."

I meant to add that discussions or posting at blog sites is also another form of socializing w/ another person, IMHO.

Paid no attention till the break-up and all the pity parties,interviews etc. All of which showed ja's real character. She has manipulated , milked the media gossips to promote her recent films that bombed. And all this time aj/bp kept silent .AJ became the victim not JA.All of AJ's efforts, monies in all of her projects were depicted as PR moves.I think It was 2001 when she became involved , perhaps during BEYOND BORDERS.
Find someone, esp. in Hollywood, who would go take dangerous trip to remote villages in Africa,Asia to dig dirt,(planting demo with un aides),)carry sacks of rice/grain(Pakistan). etc.
To me. she has shown ways to help the needy. Money ,time, adoptions and just the awareness that somewhere out there people are dying of hunger, Aids and the never ending wars. If it is her and bp's battlecry , it is mine too. Haters should stop trashing her. Instead rally behind her.Like she said at DAVOS, focus on the issue now . She can't do it alone. I am one of those who spends about equal time between the "fluff" blogs and the Political ones [you forgot to mention Daily Kos - one of my personal favs]. I think I come to the "fluff" because it's so depressing in the reality based world. Stolen elections, lying a country into war, no responsibility taken by liars for any woes, Katrina, and on and on. Too much reality demands some respite. I enjoy a good debate [not that there has been much of that lately here], and that got me interested. That the debate quickly devolved to sandbox is too bad. That rumor and inuendo mascarade as fact is also a pity. However, I win in the end, because I found a wonderful fanfic writer in Rica, an eloquent comentator in you, Estelle, African Girl, Guli, Passing Through and so many others.
