While other pop stars paint their nails black to signal how "deep" they are, Pink, 26, no longer feels teh need to make gestures like that. In fact, these days she's wearing pink polish and looking downright girly; she even had a lavish wedding in January with motocross star Carey Hart. But it hasn't changed a thing: Pink still has a message she wants to send to the world -- and she isn't afraid to use a few curse words to make her point. On her fourth album, I'm Not Dead (out on April 4), she's as fierce as ever, railing against abusive men, shallow starlets, and the President too. Though Pink admits to being a "walking contradiction," she's proud of it. She explained that while her style may change daily, her beliefs will never waver.Pink has earned a reputation for beign outspoken, tough, and even a little scary -- but that's exactly why you need to get to know her better. Hey # 2, big fcuking deal if she's "ugly", what a dumb way to judge someone. Not everyone looks like a model, you know, and that's the whole POINT of an article in Seventeen for young impressionable girls who feel pressured by society to fit a certain mold . . . duh.
As someone who was physically assaulted by a man and the guy got away with it without getting arrested (in New Rochelle, NY -Westchester County), I am impressed that Pink brought this attention in her lyrics. It is a battle that I will personally take on and make sure goes public and that I do the most humanitarian work possible to help other women. I will do anything for women's rights and always have. And the fact that Pink is bringing up children and so forth, it's great.
People dont realize how easy it is for a guy to get away with assaulting a woman because most of our town leaders, policemen, law makers are men or cowardly, senseless women who follow these men to keep their jobs. It was terrible that the District Attorney, Jeannine Pirro and her female Assistant DA, who refused to accept the fact that I was assaulted, was a woman, even with my arm in a cast, the photos of my blood and numerous bruises on my body and medical report. The Assistant DA, she defended the attacker and it was partly, no mostly, due to goverment corruption in that town and money.
The attacker went to Iona College, one of the worst schools in the nation! Filled with nasty kids. The most rotten of the rotten. And New Rochelle defended that attacker because Iona College is bringing in thousands of dollars to a dying town and police officers have made efforts to hide those student's criminal behaviors.
Imagine, if it was your mother, sister, daughter, girlfriend, wife, relative or best friend that this happened to. You'd be steaming mad. Such injustice.
