go find a rock and climb under it!
moron freak!
Angie as always making waves. No matter what anybody thinks of Angie and/or Brad, it is a fact that they draw much needed attention to important issues. You know, lately even people I know who were never interested with humanitarian work, started discussing the subjects of food/social/financial crisis in the world, BECAUSE of Angie and Brad. Most recently because of the TV Guide interview. And those were people who used to zapp away as soon as a topic on hunger, aids, analphabetism came up on television. Can you imagine? So Angelina, keep on doing what you're doing. You are one heck of lady.
what a woman...inspiring.love her!
# 42
Glad to see you can contribute intelligently.

Let me see If I can properly translate #43's feeling:
you make us sick whore!!! the comedy is not your category change it!!
(I am an extremely jealous person and I'm making myself sick with it. I wouldn't understand humour if it bit me on the behind.)
you can be a prostitute and fuck all the members of your fondation
(I'm a bitter, bitter person who can only think about myself will never think enough of others to contribute anything.)
im sure you gonna be the best
(I wish you the worst in life, the same as my pitiful life.)
lunatica whorie
(Your name says it all.)
yeah that may be but when dudes like you come with the turn me on words why bother with men! eh
People, we need to arrange a meeting between Lunatic Whorie and $$$$$$$$$$$$$. they are a perfect match: one is without work and too ugly to find a man, the other is too horny and too dumb to even care.
#68 cain

#78 C'mon Stef. Ignore rich in hate $$$$. She's a real looser. Not even entertaining in the least. Just ignorant. Looking for attention. She's the type of competition that isn't even worth your time.

$
I don't have a problem in stating the obvious, you're not very intelligent are you? The more you name call the more your ignorance shows. It's boring. String two decent sentences together, without degenerating into rott mouth, won't you? I want meat and all you're offering me are bones.
is going on here??***
cain, i like the way you tell it!
you gotta admit that was funny.
naughty but funny
Obviously there are people here that do not understand the needs of needy people. I pray you do not find yourselves in their shoes. You are either here to try to help or just leave. When have we become so insensitive?
angelah
dont worry just someone who thinks they can come on here and dis us. quiet funny really.
yo freak you are pissing me off now, go away twat face!
we respect a honnest a clean a normal and a real person's and we love them!!! not a liar's a hypocryt's and false one's!and im defenitly not jealous about whore who looks like a blow tatooted fish!!!!! she' not halle berry even cameron diaz is beautiful than her!
I'm so sorry you, whoever you are. They were taking up valuable space and I felt I had to contribute something. All the regulars haven't joined so I was bored. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it. Anyone know anymore about Angelina's latest project mentioned above?
The people who are bashing are too closed minded to understand what Angie is doing with her celeb status. These people only care about who's sleeping with who, what's on tv and things that just do not matter in the whole picture of life. They have so much hate in their hearts that they wouldn't be willing to help the less fortunate anyway. maybe someday they'll see the light.. I doubt it though.
It's so uplifting to have someone working to make a difference. All the haters would rather just have the children die
# 91 | stef - AKA LCA...my goodness, you are still up?...well, I like the way you fight....LOL, $$$ is crying....he/she can only said one word at the time.....hahah....
damn! this place moves too fast I thought i was going to be post # 80 or somewhere in the 90's.
(((((((((CLAPPING)))))))))
Stef, you have earned your stripes. Estelle was not wrong when she knighted you.
I think we should all sip in and get that "freak" a lexicon. It seems to be lost for words.
Cain first time posting? I am liking your work so far. You have a certain....Rudedoginess to you. Welcome.
It's so uplifting to have someone working to make a difference. All the haters would rather just have the children die
yeah im sorry guys if i affended any of you.
i just didnt want them thinking they can come here a dis without a fight.
so on that note. lets hope $$$$ goes somewhere else.
again sorry for letting the team down.
Moi Jade I guess you are right. These twarts are braindead, it's not even fun anymore.
Stef, what you think? it is their last convulsions? Oh well, we can always play with them later. They are actually contributing in this thread's fast grow. You think they get the irony of that?LOL
i retract my last comment!
yeah that twat kept me up im goin soon tho.
Just ignore the troll.
I think that allowing people the opportunities to have an education is extremely important and one of the most powerful effects one can provide someone to better their lives and communities. I'm going to support that cause.
it kind was fun i must say, im usually against bulling but i had to do something!
i definatly think its there last time onthis site. ill be waiting in the wings if they come back, i got there buttons down!
Again with the 'freaks'. Don't you know another word? It's time to expand your vocabulary. Come sit with us for a while and we'll teach you how. But please listen first. It's rude to interrupt.
I doubt these people even took anytime out ot read the synopsis. All theysaw was Angie's picture and it got their heads spinning. Sad, very sad indeed.
cain you have a smoothness about ya. i like it!
where you from if you dont mind my asking?
She is a wonderful person I wish her the best!!

Cain, tell us more about you. Have you been a lurker?
Rizo I love that, really good. Wonder what they'll come back with.
Hallo Cain. I dig your style. Stef, you have energy girl.
To get back to the subject of this thread: Education is for any country, especially for the socalled developing country very important. It is empowering, it's emancipating. Angie is doing great work making more and more people aware of that and wanting to contribute.
These blogs are not ruined by the weirdos who post such OBVIOUS attempts to rile people and get attention; they are ruined by the well-meaning people who fall into the trap. You think you are putting them down and scaring them off? Hardly. They are laughing because they got exactly what they wanted -- your attention on them, and not on what you are here for, to chat with fans of Angelina and Brad's. No doubt, they do the same on other threads. It's so obvious, and yet, you Brangelina fans keep falling for it, letting the haters cackle with glee everytime you waste a post aimed at them. They don't care whether it's positive or negative, as long as it's towards them, then they have won. STOP engaging them.
bobbies! ha ha. its always the way, grass is greener hey!
i recommend you come in our summer cos you hate it otherwise. cold, wet and windy in other seasons, but i suppose that would make a nice change for ya right?
im so jealous of your weather, i definatly was born in the wrong climate!
hey guys, how are my bamz+1 friends....i'm baaaaccccckkkkk from my crappy midterm! wow, i went to the other thread of bamz+1 and there are almost 2000+ posts in there....radical....i hope the bamz+1 family are enjoying their vacation in namibia!

Just go right on, please, like Susie did. I want to hear more about Angie's book, not scroll past countless posts of childish behavior on both sides.

Don't judge us too harshly. I saw Eyes and Stef holding down the fort just had to even the load a little. Besides I think they are secretly facinated with us, and would like to be like us and yes, they want more attention, so I gave them a little. Everybody needs a little love sometime. Like I said I've been here for quite a while so I consider myself as part of us.
african girl, thats cool, and strange cos my family come from romany gypsies over here. my mums parents used to own a fair ground and they travelled with it. my mums parents gave it up when mum was 5.

speaking of freaks.....i'm the biggest one here!!! I just looked in the mirror and noticed!!! So in case my limited vocabulary didn't convince you, I am the biggest freak here!!! Freak-a-leak!!!! I like it freaky style w/ myself and my two daddies and a test tube!!!
Real life Gypsies? Wow. I am originally from a small country in west Africa, Benin Republic, which is actually why I am a big fan of Angie's. Her love for Africans and the plights. Education is one of the big issues there, the schools are good but there are certain things that are lacking. The average person has a choice of sending their children to private schools or out of the country but what about the very poor? Now it probably sounds hypocritical of me since I am one of the latter (because of my dad's job more than anything else) but it doesn't mean I don't care. I have cousins and family friends who are in Benin and I...we all want what is best for them. We actually have a program like that here in the United States where companies sponsor a certain number of Children to school. From Nursery, Primary, Secondary and then University. It has been quite successful, if I do say so myself (lol)
# 43, 46, 50, 53, 55, 59, 60, 62, 64 -- I's sure you're all the same crazy jen-head posting crazy stuff. Why don't you go wash out your mouth with soap. You've obviously recently been dumped by your boyfriend-- or can't you get any? Are you short and fat?

Oh yeah!!! I'm so freaky I get it on w/ my multiple personalities too!!! Freak-kay!!!
thats cool.
i said i was going to bed but that can wait.
i go to africa quite alot. mostly south africa my parents are out there at the mo. trying to buy a place they wanna live there cos we have family out there. and my dad grew up there too, his brother, my uncle has a wildlife foundation you will have heard of, the born free foundation. he was george adamsons best friend and took over it when he was murdered. so i have ties to that country too.
cos ive seen a lotover there i do a lot to help, mostly with donations to world vision as you can see what you are givin. i brought a desk, chair and stationary for a child at christmas, i did it insteadof buying uncles and aunts pressents and gave them the print out. kinda shocked them but they know what it means to us.
Oh, man I apologize for my typos; Can't post without my glasses.
Freakin it all night!!! Oh yeah, I'm so freaky I like to troll around blogs to find people as freaky as me, but so far none yet!!! Freak me out!!!

ROFLMAO!!
The only fans of BAMZ +1 are brown people. It's incredibly obviouis as us wealthier more educated types see through people such as her.
However, because she's white and adopts a black and asian child the unfortunate poor plebians that are minorities feel incredibly validated.
No one but the unfortunate unwashed brown people like her and Brad at this time.
Carry on.
I'm so freakin smart!!!!! Look how many big words I can string together!!! Imo freak you out!!!!
Jjoy
You poor baby. Yeah I remember Economisc can be tough. All the terms and the graphs, but try to stick with it, who knows before the end of the semester, you will be giving you prof a run for his money.
The Law of diminidhing returns is exactly what is going on with your tired posts. Funny you should ask that.
This site is great for furthering the truth, and I'm happy to see attention brought to Angie's interests. I share many with her, which is why I like to post here. Looking forward to getting to know a few like minds. We have an incredibly insane state test to prepare our students in life aside from this board, which leads me to ask... Are any of you teachers out there? Public, private, or otherwise; we are all teachers to an extent, but I'm curious how the education system functions in Africa and other global outposts.
Rock on, allies! Enjoy your weekend's posts.
lol, we got a ginger kid in our midst. hate those damn ginger kids with their nasty, pasty, freckly bodies, its like they came out of the oven undercooked or something
Look how freaky I am!!! I insult myself on the down low.....coz I'm a freak like that!!!! I try to suppress my freakiness but it keeps comin through!!! Release yo inner freak!!!!
She is using her celebrity to raise awareness on worlds' poverty. Jolie-Pitt know it's a unique contribution they can make in the incredible magnitude this year.
Hey did you guys read the rumor about Jolie is in talks for joining Ocean's 13? They say the producers are in need of big name such as Jolie. I read they are starting to shoot in July, so actually that would be a nice time to go back to work. It would be great for the whole family so Jolie-Pitt can take turns with the kids. I hope the script would be better than Ocean's 12....
god your life must be pathetic...Get one, it will do you some good...Clearly you have too much time on your hands.. so sad.
of course my email is directed to the$$$$$$$ money freak.
Only racists hate BAMZ+1.

I'm just happy that there are few celebrities who are dignified, intelligent and selfless like Jolie. And, for Jen's fans - tell me tell me what she has done in the last year except leave dirty rags all around herself.... pitty pitty chin chin
Dear Brad,
you know we would of had better looking childrem than this Brangelina baby.
Your baby will look like John Voight. How awful! You could of had one that was a golden baby but no, you went to the whore.
How sad. I see your sadness Brad and I am sorry. I am the nicest girl you will ever meet and you regret losing me.
How sad.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Aniston (No more Pitt because I filed for DIVORCE) HAHA!
Dear Brad,
If you don't come back you know what will happened don't you? Yes, thats right. I'll have to kill myself. I was already close once when it was announced that she was pregnant...don't drive me to that point again. The blood will be on your hands.
Sincerely,

Dear Brad,

Dear Brad,

Opps, too bad. I am gone HAHAHAHA!
I filed for D-I-V-O-R-C-E!

What a shame $$$ has created in our world. Racism and poverty--the gemini double agent. Anyone with a mind knows how shallow $$$ is.
Dear Brad,
You could not even take her to the Oscars! HAHAHAHA! you were embarrassed by your whore.
Also, you can't even mary her eventhough she is pregnant.
I was not even pregnant and you rushed me to the altar. because I am classy and she is a whore.

Dear Brad,
Our kids could have had big ears, square pointy chins and jacked-up noses...but you missed out. Now they will have perfect bone structure and non-fug genes. How could you let me get away?

Letter to Brad from Jennifer Aniston
u have got to be the scarriest person i ever come across with in any blogs i've been! lunatic and demented, please get some help. u need it, don't forget to take your medication....... please
Holla!!! But you know whats even scarier?!?! When I look in the mirror!!! It freaks me out!!!!
I read on People.com how she & Brad rented a whole resort in Jungle Land somewhere. I wonder if she throws the natives her leftovers. Just watched the end of this show of this couple who resue orphaned elephants somewhere in Africa I am guessing, maybe India. They live at the refuge in a modest house. I think anything anybody does to help someone else is great, but it makes her look like such a hyprocrite to drone on and on about helping the poor but she sure lives the high life. Throw the dog a bone & live in a palace. Reminds me of Marie Antoinette. Throw the peasants a crumb and enjoy your brioche Angelina. I am sick of people who want to canonize her or something. If she was so caring she would give up her wealth and go live with the poor and help them in person, not at a resort. Not a quick visit for a few hours and then back to the lear jet. The real test is would she do any of this if there were no cameras around, no media to record it? That would be interesting, because I don't think she would. I hope her & Brad never come back to America, they are an embarrassment to our country.
she's been doing charitable work for over 5 years and has only started getting publicity now because of the hollywood hooplah going on. Effen bastards like yourself belittle what she has done and discount the money she has donated just because she doesn't effen live in a hole in the ground. Well your retarded, just because she helps the poor doesn't mean she has to live like the poor. Why the hell do humanitarians have to strip themselves of their belongings for it to "count," because of bastards w/ retarded mentalities like yourself want to discredit them....go suck an egg

First of all America is from North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. I don't think you can call crumbs what Angelina gives to this ppl. And if you have to be embarrass for something, feel so for millions of inmigrants that your gobverment want to ger rid of and stop for coming to the United States of America.

#187 | Zaiyana : I'm a teaching assistant in a high school in New York state. The NY state Regent's exams are some of the tougher state exams in the US. I don't know how they compare to other countries though. I do know we waste valuable educational time prepping for them. Since I work in Special Education, I also have a problem with the cookie cutter approach to education. The goal in NY is to raise all children up to Regent's standards. In reality, some of them will be lucky to meet local standards [not so intense, need a 55 instead of 65 to pass exam]; the goal however, is to phase the local out.
Gee, it Makes Me Wonder why people pick on Brad and Angelina when certain big-nosed, long-chinned celebrities don't stir themselves to do much or anything but promote their current bad movies or film desperation scenes in Chicago for future bad movies.
Fuck you. Go pick on Aniston's lack of ANY social conscience.

#194, your comment “Only racists hate BAMZ+1” is unfair and inflammatory.
Why would you say that white people hate Brangelina, other than the racist comment by #184 and some others? Angelina is not black and neither is Pitt, obviously. Do some black people love Brangelina simply because she adopted a black child and is a spokesperson for the UN? Many white people care about third world countries and help UN causes, they just don’t get or seek credit for their humanitarianism.
Do all black people hate Friends because it’s a show about white people? Do all black people hate Seinfeld for the same reason? I remember hearing that the black population bitched about these two shows because they were so white. Why do posters on some black forums attack stars of shows that feature white people? Do some black people hate Aniston because she was a popular star on a popular show about white people?
As far as the opposite goes, do all black people think that all white people hate shows about black people like Good Times, The Cosby Show, Living Single, Hanging with Mr. Cooper, Martin, My Wife and Kids, Bernie Mac, Hanging with Mr. Cooper, The Hughleys, Wayans Brothers, Half and Half, Girlfriends, Malcolm and Eddie, etc. And do all black people think that all white people hate the stars of those shows because the shows aren’t about them?
I love you Angie, you are my idol!

My husband is a prof. in computer science at a University. He laments that some undergraduate computer science majors have unbelievable lack of math skills, which should have been achieved in high school. Of course he is a French mathematician coming out of their rigorous system, but still in Europe (France) he says there is at least a certain level ALL children are supposed to achieve at the end of high school.
We are fearing there may be a huge discrepancy between public and private high schools in terms of the level of competence especially in math. But that's still quite a bit down the road for us....
BTW my daughter is 5 and is in Special Ed, being diagnosed with PDD. She has been in a remarkable environment with wonderful Special Ed teachers and progressing beautifully. We have so much respect for the professionals in your field.

Dear Be Sane
Than you for your support.
I agree with you on the discrepancy between private and public school. I'm a mother of 2 girls
which are at private school. I think one of the reasons for this differences is that public school have more students per teacher tha private and at private schools ( at least some of them) classes are smaller than public. I do have a very good friend who have a son attending E.D. So good luck.

explain the law of diminishing marginal returns. – is when the golden couple is kaput the stars of the chin decline because the fixed input (braddy) is gone to shine her stars…you know what I mean…no braddy….no chin….declining stars….he! he! he!
what is the laffer curve? Is when you don’t go and watch chinny chin’s movies…no tax revenue for her movies so she becomes an inferior commodity and nobody wants to hire her…
what measure is used to track the rate of inflation? Is when you are counted in measuring the inflation because you are part of the third type of unemployment – functional unemployment….meaning you are functionally illiterate…and you are the best example of this labor force….you got it…..lol…congrats parasites….
what tools does the federal reserve have at it's disposal to moderate inflation rates? Is to maximize employment which means that you need to go to work sucker and be counted as part of the labor force instead of sitting on your butt in front of your computer being obnoxious to bamz+1 lovers….lol
the end….no more econ questions…..hey….if I didn’t know it….you really can not live without having a bamz+1 fix ha?? Like the bamz+1 lovers…..which means that even you really really hate the bamz+1 family and their fans….you can’t ignore them and that’s make you upset…..ooowww…poor freak $…hey your input is always counted and tolerated…..thanks!!

Our economic-terms-spouting naysayer seemed to have been caught flat footed. LOL.
did anyone see the new E show the daily ten? Michael Rapaport was on and he said that Brad pitt is just a normal, nice guy, and went on to say, just a really, really good guy .. He said all of the stuff you read about him in tabloids so not true.. He added yes he's rich, good looking and has Angelina, but he is still just a normal nice guy.. It was very refreshing to hear some nice things about Brad.. The tabloids right now are out of control..

#218:
If you could perhaps think just a tad you would realize how stupid your comment is.
Because they have rented out the entire resort, the resort would get the business and the workers would get paid. In simple terms, in some ways it does help the economy. Sure they could have rented out a cheaper place, but why? They certainly won't be able to get as much space and security, which they certainly need. By making money, one can continue to give more, if you simply give it all up, you might not be able to give as much money-wise. People help in different ways, and yes, money really, really helps, as well as public attention. In fact, that's the one of the things they need most, MONEY.
It's just really stupid when people make comments like this because it just shows that they really don't realize how the world works. Do you think Bill Gates or Oprah should give up their $$billions as well?

Dear Jennifer,
I have asked you nicely to stop writing to me but you cannot seem to stop yourself. If you keep this up, I will have to file a
stalking complaint against you, ex-wife or not. How many times do I have to tell you that your constant whining is what drove me
away. I put up with bumping into your big chin every time I turned around, but there is only so much a man can take. I have
found the love of my life with Angie, we are a family, and she is everything I could ever want. She has opened my eyes to so many
things and I can never go back to being that person whose life revolved around posing for the cameras for the red carpet
occasions. Jennifer, a bit of advice from the guy you say is 'missing a sensitivity chip,' get yourself another psychiatrist! You
have to stop blaimg me and everyone else for your problems. Stop bringing up my name, or referring to me, when you do an interview, and just leave me the hell alone!

#245, jjoy, @ 12:13am....
You are reminding me of my freshman year in college. It wasn't macro or micro economics, though. It was Economics 101. About as basic as it gets, but still such a stretch for me. I went to class, did all the assignments, stayed up late studying for the exam...regardless, it the end the instructor handed me my grade--D--with the words "It's a gift!" I guess I'm just lucky I can balance my checkbook. Good luck!!
Dear Jennifer,
Please read this entire letter I beg you. Jen, I have made the biggest mistake of my entire life. First off, I didn't think you'd rush to a lawyer and file that fast after I told you about my feelings for Angelina. You were right, most of what I've felt have just been lustful feelings and not love at all. I never, and you need to believe me when I say Never expected her to get pregnant. I was told she was on birth control pills, when in reality she was taking fertility pills! Ye gads she's evil! Now I'm stuck with her and all these kids. What can I do? Here's hoping you can find it in your heart to forgive me and take me back please. She's been beating me up. She caught me smoking and knocked the beejeeus out of me. HELP
love, Brad
Jen,
Please take back your whiny and possessive ex. He is too much possessive for me that he is even jealous of my children. He loves to whine like you do that's why you two complimented each other and got married. It's a good thing that I don't want to marry him so find it in your good heart to take him back.
Angie
Hello, did Jolie even graduate high school? She needs to educate herself first. GET THAT GED, then lecture the world honey...
Angelina's book is wonderful. It's not written like a text book, nor is it written like a fictitious novel. It's simply a compilation of her thoughts and observations of her travels and a sharing of some of the knowledge she's gained. And the stories--I felt nauseous when she talked about the reign of Pol Pot in Cambodia and the things that happened at that time. I've seen that picture of the soldiers tossing a baby in the air and stabbing in with the end of a bayonet. It's sickening.
But one thing I really like about AJ is that she doesn't just focus on the bad. She spends a lot of time marvelling about the positive spirit these refugees have, that they are determined to make better lives for themselves and their families.
Anyone who doesn't appreciate what she does needs to stand up and show how they could do better.

Oh Jen..you whining sack of sh*t. I can't believe I lasted w/ a self-sentered bitch/mediocre actress for nearly seven-years! I realize now, that I was just on a rebound from Gwen...you got me when I was @ my lowest. And now that I look back & see what a pathetic class-b actress, I feel like puking. The hours of staring @ your self in the mirror...the time you spent in your personal salon in our house trying to figure out what to do w/ your hair so that it covers your gigantic chin & nose...what was I thinking???
Then bam...I turn to side of my bed, and I see beautiful Angelina. I am so glad she took me in after what you turned me into. I see that there's more to life than just "jennifer".
I just hope you'd stop whining...Angelina will be giving birth soon, leave us alone & move on. I'm sure you'll find another victim.

Good luck to you my young friend…Its been so long since college and one thing that I do remember about my higher econ subjects (macro/micro were also higher econ class) is that I was just going thru the motions so I can proceed to my major subjects. If you ask me, would have been fine w/ just the basics unless you really wanted to become an economist or social scientist or other courses that really requires an extensive knowledge of it. But that’s me….the high brows at the academe thinks differently. LOL

Malaya, you and jjoy are bringing back nightmares of my macro/micro econ days. I exaggerate. Those classes weren't bad. Surprisingly enough, jjoy's econ concepts are still familiar.
These latest versions of the letters from Brad, Jen and Angie just don't live up to that Friday of some weeks ago unfortunately. I could use the amusement to get my mind off the computer problems I'm having.

wtf?? Rebound from Gwen? That was 2 freakin years before you met me! What a lousy excuse. You critize me for my acting ability? What did that have to do with our marriage?? What are you talking about buddy? I had to fight you for any mirror in the house! Here, I listened to you fart away most nights, listened to you belch after every meal, rolled over to your outrageous breathe every freakin morning, cleaned up your flithy sink full of hair and gunk, watched you pick you nose hairs out, held your head while you puked with the flu, answered you a million times "yes, Brad you're STILL the bomb" and all you can come up with is my acting was bad??? Geesh, now I remember why I divorced you. Thanks for reminding me. Jen

i think if you like quantitative and qualitative reasoning then you are okay in taking either micro or macro....i am not so good at both of these reasonings...i like numbers but it's hard for me to explain it in logical ways...first, english is not my first language and i think first in my native language and then translate it to english...and you know some thoughts got lost between translation...lol...like the movie "lost in translation"....but as the other bamz+1 fans said...good luck to all of us....students...he! he!
may i ask, hospitality, like in hotel management?? that will be cool!!
On TOPIC:
I think one important aspect that also needs to be addressed to w/ regards to giving our children their right to an education is to also educate the parents & the community especially among very low-income families in the 3rd world countries. I’m sure the parents care & love their children but sometimes I question their actions and intent. Although in my country there’s a high literacy rate (96%) I still see children being told by their parents to stop going to school. Children common among girls who are the eldest were given the primary responsibility to take care of the younger siblings. One of the justifications is that women anyway when they get married will be left at home to take care of her family. The boys are there to help tend the farm or cattle. Hence, to me there is a need to continually educate the masses that bearing children does not equate to "free labor" or cheap labor.
What’s heartbreaking is that due to extreme poverty and scarce resources in their areas child labor is prevalent - more specifically among those in the rural communities that are dependent on agriculture (comm’l agriculture & fishing) as their source of income. The parent’s income can barely bring food to the table 3 times a day (hence among sugar plantations or haciendas the “one day-one eat” or in extreme cases “one day no eat at all” kind of situation are still in existence). At a tender age of 5 some children are already working on the sugar fields or involved in deep sea diving w/ no proper equipments (using air compressors) for a pittance. You can’t entirely blame their parents because that’s they way of life they’re parents and their grandparents before them have been born into and their mindsets are influenced by that environment. Part of the process could be that you have to peel off layer upon layer of history ingrained upon them. For example, like other countries occupied by the Spaniards, the friars has taught their forefathers that “blessed are the poor for they have a place in heaven” unaware that it’s the Church’s propaganda to enforce “forced labor” and enrich its coffers and expand its power. The older generation of hard laborers were brainwashed to accept the rule and their role in society. In some cases I would even call it indolence inherited from generation to generation.
So it starts from education that goes hand-in-hand w/ the right economic infrastructure (small-scale) that are sustainable or land reforms as the case maybe and making sure it’s put to good use and can serve them well in the long term and not just a short relief for hunger. Its an on-going educational process that will take time and will cross generation or lifetime.
Dear Brad,
I should not even address this letter as Dear because you have acted like the mean person you are.
Angelina is a whore and she will sleep with you and drop once she finds a more suitable fuck buddy.
Nrad look how you are hurting. you never wore clothes like that with me - ugly hats, nasty shoes. What happened Brad? Is she not feeding you? Does she rather feed the hungry children in Africa isntead of you?
Poor Brad 0- you seem so miserable. I know your ego was brusied when I FILED FOR DIVORCE.

I was wondering where you've been. If you were two-timing me, I would have hunted down the other owner-to-be and knock the sunglasses off of him. I don't care how many pairs of sunglasses he wears either. I'll knock them off like I'm shooting at clay pigeons.

# 268 | malaya | April 8, 2006 02:57 AM
Hey malaya, that's what I've been saying over and over with my cyber bullhorn. Education is the salvation for the poor.
Asian-Americans place a high value on education to the point Asian-American parents put a lot of pressure on their children to succeed. Hence, the reason many Asian-Americans are extremly competitive in classes that you will be steamrolled if you're just taking a joyride in class.
Jewish-Americans also have place that high emphasis on education. For the most part, both minorities have succeeded in America financially. But that's not to say there still aren't glass ceilings for Asian-Americans. There may be representation in upper management but it's not proportional to the Asian-American population, or the demographics in the workplace.
When I say Asian-American, we mostly think of East Asians with the Confucious values emphasizing family and respect. These values aren't across the board for Asians. Some Southeast Asians (excluding Vietnamese) are still struggling economically in the States. There was a wave of economic refugees from that region, which may make it tougher for them to overcome their hardships.
Anyway, I'm a big proponent in spending money on education (with the expectation that teachers are competent), which pays for itself. Not many programs can say that.
Off my soapbox and handing my bullhorn back to malaya. ;) (You're going to need to speak over the crazies.)

Okay, "Jennifer" if you're going on this Brad-Jen charade, you're going to keep your facts straight about your so-called life.
"We were married for 7 years - I know everything about you. "
Seven years? 4.5 years technically.
Okay, carry on. I need my amusement.
Dear Jennifer,
I married Angelina in Paris on March 30. It was the most Romantic day of our lives. Now we are in Africa getting ready for our child to arrive . I'm so happy to be spending my life with my equal. she excepts me for me, dirty hat and all. She would never judge me based on the clothes I choose to wear. She is the love of my life.
This is the last time I'm going to tell you nicely.. Pleas stop stalking us,.you are beginning to scare my children. Please move on and find love with someone who will except your drug use and countless other problems...anyone. Just leave me and my family the hell alone.

Brad brought them all by to visit and we had the time of our life. They don't smell like b.o and cigarrettes like you did. You are no longer welcome here.
Sincerly,
Grandma Betty the family spokesperson
Dear Brad,
If you married her in Paris (which I doubt because the marriage certificate would of been leaked byt the courthouse) - why don't you want to tell the whole world?
I know. Because you are ashamed of her. Nrad, you are ashamed. You are so ashamed of the whore.
You realize you can't believe your child will be the child of a whore.
Also, Brad, please take a paternity test. How do you know it is not Collin Farrell's child? She was with him in Egypt. Brad, you are lost. You are not smiling like you used to smile with me.
What happened to the nice suits? Brad, what happened to you? You look like Kurt Cobain now. How sad.
The ONLY woman you ever had the respect enough to marry,
Jennifer
Grandma Betty? What ? I just talked to you yesterday and you said you couldn't stand the fact that Brad won't quit smoking? What's this we had the time of our lives? You tried to explain to me how you feel about the "many colors" in your family now, and I told you I understand but really it made me want to puke. I know your upbringing was what made you so prejudiced but is that any excuse when you are now a adult and know it's wrong? You see Grandma, Brad won't leave me alone. Please talk to him and ask him to stop! I'm engaged to be married to a wonderful, honest and most of all Faithful man. Brad needs to deal . Ok? Love always, Jen
Cindy #274,
Why do you think only certain groups place emphasis on education?
The issue is economic. In middle class and lower middle class families, you will see a high emphasis on education. Also this empahis is more real for those communities - they can afford good schools, extra-curricular activities, college, etc so their emphasis is not an empty dream.
Now, if you go to a dirt poor city in Vietnam or Thailand, for example - the emphasis on education is less. There you will see farmers selling their daughters into the sex trade, etc.
So this idea that Asians have this super emphasis on education is misleading. Middle class Asians do becaue they can attain it. There are lots of poor Asian communities.
Take the Black community for example. There is a HUGE emphasis on education. Black parents enforce the idea that education is the only way. What happens is some Black communities are SO poor that you don't see the result of that emphasis so you would think it is not encouraged but it is encouraged - it's just not always economically possible to achieve it.
Look, I went to private schools all my life and private university. My parents worked 2 jobs to keep this up. Now when I compete with kids who went to public universities - I get chosen over them because there is still a lot of emphasis placed on the kind of school you went to.
I bring this up to show how unequal the playing field is. A kid who can afford to go to Harvard or other private schools will have access to more than the kid who is really smart but could only afford the local state school.
Let's dig deeper on the issue instead of generalizing.

I was thinking to myself how long can you guys ignore those haters stupid posts. Not very long. They do get to your nerve after a while, isn't it?
Dear Jennifer,
This is Angelina Jolie. Yes, me #6 Most Beautiful Woman of all time Voted by New Woman Readers. You were #42. Anyway, I digress.
Jennifer, you are scaring my kids-our kids-Brad's kids. Leave us alone. Little Zahara is a Daddy's girl. She follows him wherever he goes. Mad is mischievious like Daddy can be. It is very cute. Leave us alone. Stop disrupting our lives.
Here is the harsh reality. I am gorgeous. I am also a UN embassador. I am talented with choices of any movies I want to be in. They make money. I am nice and interesting. I fly planes and ride motocycles.
Brad has found all this in me and he is not going anywhere. Plus, I am very sensual and the sex blows his mind.
We are preparing for a new baby (people are already saying it will be the most beautiful baby ever born). I think all three of our kids are beautiful. Anyway, I digress.
Leave us alone Jennifer. Work on the career. Maybe there is an informercial you can do. Something. Go back to acting school but leave us alone.
Marrying me? Brad and I are free spirits. We don't need to get married. Plus, I am afraid you will kill yourself if we do and I don't need the kids to hear about your suicide. So, we are holding off. We will do it when your meds kick in and when you can cope more. Once you get settled with a new therapist (why did you kill that last one Jennifer?/I digress)- we will have George Clooney (Team Jolie) start preparing the Lake Como house for the nuptials.
Don't kill yourself Chinny. We want you to live Jennifer just not in the same continent as us because you are way too pathetic.
Sincerely - the hot chick that Brad left your ugly ass for,
Angelina Jolie (FHM #2 Sexiest Woman despite being pregnant)
Actually, I've tried avoiding discussing other minorities for that very reason.
I am very well there are Black communities and parents that emphasize education. As I am not Black myself, I didn't want to speak about it. There are many African-Americans to speak up about it themselves.
I was focusing on Asian-Americans, who have come from all different levels of socio-economic classes, depending on the wave of immigration. Poor Asian immigrants also emphasize education. It doesn't matter what socio-economic class they come from. It's a fact I know very well intimately beyond the fact I grew up in a predominantly Asian community with different socio-economic classes. I can assure you it's not just middle class. Many of these Asian-American students have immigrant parents working in restauarants, seamstresses, etc. Not exactly what you would call middle-class jobs. For East Asians the emphasis on education is ingrained from Confucian values. I can't speak for other Asians except for the fact that the recent wave of Southeast Asians haven't been doing as well as the earlier East Asians. Malaya, who is Filipino, gave an perspective of other Asians.
My post wasn't mean to generalize any other minorities. But thank you for offering your POV.

These letters certainly aren't as entertaining when they first popped up. Perhaps, the novelty has worn off. It's amusing the first time around, but wearing thin now. I think there are other characters that have taken up the prank, too.
Dear, Ms Aniston
I am sending this letter on behalf of the family. Brad will not be responding to your letters any longer. We are requesting a restraining order against you. He didn't want to have to go to such extremes, but his family is his number one priority. Brad and Angelina are married. The wedding certicate is confidential. it will not be leaked, they will announce their marriage to the world the same day the first Jolie-Pitt baby pics are on the cover of People magazine. You already know too much.
Sincerely,
Mickey
P.s Grandma Betty says you stink.
okay, im done with these stupid letters.

P.S. Just one more thing about affording higher education (as public education is guaranteed for legal residents and citizens to high school). Poor Asians will work their bone off to be able to pay their children's future education to the point the parents may be reared by the grandmother or the older kids having to care for the younger siblings. For instance, my cousins work long hours at a restaurant with the wife working two jobs to put their child into Berkeley.
Where income is still lacking, these Asian students seek out scholarships. But good education isn't limited to Ivy League schools where yes, the rich have a distinct advantage (not only with income but with network connections as alumnis, e.g. George W. Bush getting entry into Yale). In California alone, there are excellent University of California satellites (UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, etc). Education is what you make of it.
Again, this is NOT a criticism of any lack of education values by other minorities. My apologies if anyone read it as such.
The point is still education is the best tool to get out of poverty.
Cindy , I appreciate your thoughts as well. However, I think ASIAN tends to be lumped together in one group.
Asians are quite diverse. In general, I think most human beings respect education - which group doesn not?
I think we understand emphasis when we see its results.
What I mean is a group can emphasize education until it's blue in the face but if you don't see the result (in terms of economic power) then you won't understand the emphasis.
Some Asian communities have done well economically in the US so we think they are more focused on education and success.
The reality is a lot of Asian groups escape the history of oppression that a lot of other groups are subject to. It's almost as if as the Whites Black and Hispanics fiight for a place in America - the Aisans sort of slip under the radar and are less burdened with racial issues that the aforementioned groups are subject to.
Take for example the Chicano or Mexican population. If you go to places like California - there is no group that works harder. The Mexicans are the cooks, the road diggers, the maids, the servants - they work harder than anyone I have ever seen. Yet, they are not economically stable. Why? The Immigration issue is one - a lot are here illegally and cannot benefit from the system. Yet they emphasize hard work.
There are Asians who come here illegally too but for the most part, Asians are not facing the obstacles that Mexicans crossing the border are facing.
So a group's success does not have to do so much with emphasis (an abstract idea that is hard to prove) but rather has to do with history and the group's conditioning once here in America.
Look at the Native American community - same thing.
" future education to the point the parents may be reared by the grandmother or"
Today is not my day for typing out my thoughts or words. That sentence should read as "future education to the point the CHILDREN may be reared by the grandparents..." I've noticed other errors but I'm only correcting that one for clarity. I'm saving to be pedantic when I go over to the Shakespeare site.
Off my soapbox and handing my bullhorn back to malaya. ;) (You're going to need to speak over the crazies.)

I have to comb thru the LETTERS to found your post. :)
“Anyway, I'm a big proponent in spending money on education (with the expectation that teachers are competent), which pays for itself. Not many programs can say that.”
Not only competence of the teachers but proper orientation of which educational courses or specialty they should go into. That’s been my beef w/ the Philippine’s educational system. I think we’re producing too much accountants, teachers & other white collared jobs related courses when the labor pool is saturated with these professions. What I think we need are technocrats to build a good economic foundation and entrepreneurs to spur & generate economic activity. Hence, underemployment is quite common – you won’t believe how many teachers are working as sales ladies in our department stores. Programs for entrepreneurship (w/c generates jobs) are only good in paper or at the start but looses its steam and is not really encouraged by the system. My cousin who is a teacher and when I get invited to talk about career orientations, they always find it odd that we encourage young students to take up technical courses and other skills that might get them thru w/ the limited resources they have. Or if they have a parcel of land, instead of pressuring parents to send them off to school to become teachers they might as well become an agriculturist and cultivate that land with the aim of going into an agri-business.
“There may be representation in upper management but it's not proportional to the Asian-American population, or the demographics in the workplace.”
So true. The excellence in education, the dominance/success of East Asians (those w/ Chinese descent – Chinese, Taiwanese esp I wouldn’t really count much the Japanese since they’re very insular) in business or other areas could largely be attributed to their culture. Like my country, most of the businesses are owned and ran by Filipino Chinese families or individuals. Also factor the fact, that when you’re in a foreign country you have to do good since if you fail there won’t a support system to back you up. But I think they also take it to the extremes like Taiwan’s education system IMO is just putting too much pressure on the children/students. No wonder they have so many suicide cases related to this. Can you imagine having tutorials for summer classes so you can be sure you’ll get a place in a higher class or higher ranking to get in a particular university? I have a Taiwanese acquaintance who’ve been a student all her life and she’s now 30 something (she married well so she spends her time between vacations and going to school. LOL).
“These values aren't across the board for Asians. Some Southeast Asians (excluding Vietnamese) are still struggling economically in the States. There was a wave of economic refugees from that region, which may make it tougher for them to overcome their hardships.”
I have personal stories on migration. I have friends, family who went to the US to seek for greener pastures. I have a cousin who is a licensed chemical engineer and circumstances forced her to migrate to the US about 8 yrs ago. Was and still is working as a caregiver in a nursing home. Sad really but she said w/ her job she was able to send her daughter to law school & a little something for her retirement fund. Due to lack of opportunities in their own country, many migrant workers or professionals holds menial jobs that are far beneath the skill or level of education they achieved in their home country (with the exception I think of those in the medical professions but again we have doctors here who are taking up nursing so they can go to the US).
Of course I realize there is diversity even within that social construct of "Asian," which is the reason I separated East Asians out. East Asians are more unified by influence China had in those regions. Confucianism did spread to Korea and Japan.
Chinese immigrants were extremely oppressed and discriminated in the early 1800s and 1900s. There were discriminatory laws directed specifically at Chinese to deny them jobs, work, legal entry among many anti-Chinese laws. But those Chinese were tenacious in fighting many of those discriminatory laws through the court system. Chinese-American history is glossed over in our public education, if taught at all.
Please don't believe the myth as if Chinese and Japanese had a silver platter handed to them upon "getting off the boat." Japanese-Americans were subjected to discriminatory internment where their property were seized during WW II.
Actually, Chinese refugees escaping from political oppression do suffer hardships. Have you heard of illegal Chinese smuggled under conditions in containers where they die? Or some who have become indentured slaves because of the contracts for the smuggling. It ain't all hunky dory for the Chinese either. And political asylum isn't guaranteed even for the Chinese fleeing a communist regime.
Certainly we don't hear much about those news because China doesn't exactly border the States as Mexico.
Education is a way out of poverty. My parents were not poor but they were not rich and I went to an Ivy League school. I was lucky to get scholarships (partial) otherwise, I would not of been able to afford it.
That said, not everyone has equal access to education. I have taught in poor schools in the past. it is horrifically depressing. A few kids will get out but not all.
Have you ever seen kids sit on toilet bowls turned desks? I have. Right here in America.
Anyway, this idea that Asians are working two three jobs to get their kids to schools does not explain the whole issue.
Many parents work two three jobs. Theie kids don't end up anywhere. There are certain communities that have traditionally been the communities on the bottom and the system thrives on their being on the bottom.
Think about the Black community for example. Just 50 years ago - in our lifetime - Blacks were not allowed to drink from the same fountain as Whites. Think about that.
Now what other group has worked harder in America than Blacks. First as slaves, then as sharecroppers, then as servants etc.
Yet, the fact that you systematically segregate a group of people from society will have harsh results.
Asians did not have to deal with this on this scale. No group had to in America. So Asians come to American without a segregationist history that sytematically requires that they are on the bottom.
In fact, the reason most Immigrant groups can come here and freely enjoy America has a lot to do with the fact that Blacks worked hard to build this empire. The empire was built on their free labor. Think about that.
It's like marrying the poor man who you help put through college but once he has money, he marries the rich girl and leaves you.
Immigrants in this country are enjoying a society in which the Blacks already slaved away in so they don't have to do it. Immigrants come here on a clean slate. Blacks don't come here - they have been here and so that history of being here and slaving away here has repurcussions.
The Black community actually does exceptionally well for a community who, again, only 50 years ago was not allowed to be seen on TV with a White person!
Anyway, I may be rambling but in a nutshell - what Asians, Jews, and other immigrant groups have to overcome to succeed in America is nowhere near what Native Americans and Blacks have to overcome.
Same thing for the Chicanos and Mexicans. Different history/different results.
Cindy , I appreciate your thoughts as well. However, I think ASIAN tends to be lumped together in one group.
Asians are quite diverse. In general, I think most human beings respect education - which group doesn not?

I’ll speak for the Philippines. I think the literacy rate of 96% speaks for the value that Filipinos have on education. My parents always emphasize the fact that they have no treasure that they can pass on to us, their children, but the value of education. By learning and having knowledge we have something that no one can take away Wealth, fame, power, that can all be taken away but knowledge thru education.
I realized I'm making no sense. You're too fast for me guys. I'm multi-tasking here.

"What I think we need are technocrats to build a good economic foundation and entrepreneurs to spur & generate economic activity."
Interesting point, Malaya. China is producing a greater percentage of scientists because she feels her ascent to be the superpower in 2050 will hinge on technology. In contrast, the States have been lagging in our emphasis on the sciences and thus, producing less engineers and scientists to keep us in the forefront of technology. Because of our headstart, the States is still more technically savvy than China such that China will try to steal technical know-how.
Yes, there can be an excess of that push for education as best reflected by Japan. I believe up to college, the students are so competitive to get into the good colleges (where once after they excelled in their entry exams they can skate) that often they are over-stressed and even pushed to suicides (but Japan has an inexplicably high per rate of suicides).
There's more backhistory to the discrimination of Chinese. When African slavery was banned, it was the Chinese and Indian coolies that took up the slack. Conditions were no better for them as previously exploited labor.
I don't want to get too off-topic so I'll leave it at that...unless malaya takes the baton, er bullhorn. ;)
Malaya, because your parents emphasized educationa and because there is a 96% literacy rate in Philippines does not mean there is something inherent in Philipino culture that favors education.
I think we have to be careful with this argument for saying the above as you say it can suggest that groups that don't have high literacy rates or don't have a high number of kids in college place less emphasis on these ideas. That is simply not the case.
Besides, education is not the only way to judge a human being or a group of people.
Think of ethnic tribes like the Masai or the Peruvian indigenous groups who have cultures that are extraordninary.
The Masai women of African have a tradition of using geometric figures (mysterious forms) for creating art and artifacts. This is not learned, it is not education but it shows a level of human depth that is beyond comprehension.
Same with the Tibetan monks. What for me is interesting is not their knowledge of books but their knowledge of soul.
Same with the Native American tribes. Such high levels of humanity and spirituality. They should not be defined by the fact that a high number of Native American kids are not economically empowered or educationally empowered but they are culturally empowered.
Let's think about how we assess a human being. By what standards? What is truly important?
Listen, I'm not going to deny that the rise of America wasn't built on the labor of Blacks. Chinese, too, were there. And I'm speaking beyond the lore of the Chinese railroad workers. An often overlooked part of history is that Chinese and Indian were working on plantations all over South America when the African slave trade was prohibited. If anyone is curious as to the Chinese mix in Latin America, that history explains it.
I'm not going to go for a tic-for-tac on whose plight and history was worse. But believe me, the history of Chinese was not easy. Early Chinese were targets of violence and discrimination. We can't hide in mainstream American any better.
And still Asian-Americans are discriminated. Where discrimination was overt, it has moved underground. Racism does exist. I'm not going to get into who has it worst when discrimination is bad regardless of what extent. I have empathy for Blacks, Native Americans (who I think got the worst shaft when it was a near genocide of their peoples with 90% annihilated), Latinos, as well.
# 297 | Repsonse to Malay - I should use my name: Abbie | April 8, 2006 04:56 AM
Have you been a regular lurker and we've brought you out? ;)
I don't know if malaya is still around but as I still am while I'm posting up my resposnses, I think I can speak for her as we agree on a lot of things.
Education alone isn't the only worth anybody has. Societal worth, of course, is dependent on the society itself. In the States, we are materialistic with our drive for acquiring status through wealth, tangible assets, etc. Keeping up with the Jones.
But in other societies (with your notable examples) worth is different. I know that in Bhutan, where there is an extremely high sense of happiness, they are not materialistic at all. Their lives are comparatively simpler than ours, the lives are less complicated and they live under rudimentary conditions and infrastructure.
I doubt either I or malaya would be so arrogant to impose our societal values on different cultures or to dare to believe we are better than they. I have a great appreciation for cultures that can live off the land for the plain reason they pollute the land and impact the environment less. We discard so much garbage that never degrades in landfills.
If they're happy, I'm happy.
Wow, Cindy, I may have to soon end the conversation because of your inaccuracy in your las post. I am sorry to admit.
Conditions were no better for Coolies and Chinese after slavery was banned?
I think the conditions of the Chinese railroad workers were horrendous and America should be ashamed of it.
I think the conditions of the Japanese interned during WW2 was atrocious and we should also be ashamed of this.
However, slavery - black slavery was a whole different beast.
However, Black Mothers sold on auction blocks. Mothers separated from their children, constantly. The tortures. The beatings. The rapes. Then after slavery - Jim Crow. The lynchings. The required sitting on the back of the bus.
This history makes me ashamed, at times, to be American. It is harsh and brutal and it lasted for 400 years. How can you compare this to any other form of discrimination?
Look I am not trying to compare Holocausts here but in America the experience of slavery is not the same as the experience of groups who were discriminated against.
It was LEGAL to discriminate blacks. It was part of out legal doctrines. This can never be compared to any other experience. And the fact hat in 2006 lots of Blacks still cannot get so many to see slavery as the inexplicable and unforgivable system that it was speaks volumes.
I have Irish blood and I know the Irish worked as dogs when they came to America and were discriminated against.
But I put this in perspective. I know that ultimately the Irish were not Black and so were not subject to the same problems.
I think it is very dangerous for one group to wallow in their success without understanding the dynamics behind their success.
Last, I think the Asian community has found success in business and academia but in the scheme of real American power, Asians are not in power.
Owning a chain of mom and pop stores is not in the end true economic power in the heirarchy of power here in America.
Why are there not more Asian CEO's? Politicians? Entertainers if you will? Asians are still kept out of a lot of arenas and this has to do with racism, I believe.
How many Asian CEO of Fortune 500 companies? How many Asian Senators and Governors - not enough given, by your account, the number of Aisans succeeding in college.
So ultimately, what REAL power does the Asian community have? I think this power is an illsuion. It is a band aid. I went to school with many a WASP kids who were children of millionaires. I vacationed with them at their summer homes. All White and all WASP. They had and their parents have the real power not anyone else.
So in the end, minority groups fight for the crumbs. Those who get the biggest pile of crumbs think they have won the jackpot meanwhile the rich White men in power enjoy the full loaf of bread.
he guys seems like you have had a busy night with the haters! i had a funny time with ine earlier and they seems to carry it on with themselves which was fairly amuzing!
hows you lot today?
ive got work in a bit but only for a couple of hour sort some stuff out then ill checkon here again!
hope you have a good day.
BAMZ+1 rock on. love it.
Well, you're into comparing the size of scars, when I'm not. Chinese coolies HAD it bad. Is one beating worse than the other? Is one rape worse than the other?
You may not be aware of Chinese history as I to get into well, Blacks had it worst so the Chinese went relatively scott free. It was LEGAL to discriminate CHINESE specifically. Read this passage:
Professor Roger Daniels, University of Cincinatti: "United States Supreme Court says that Blacks had no rights which the White man was bound to respect. You know, that's not a street corner agitator. That's the Chief Justice of the United States speaking in the Dred Scott case."
In the case of Dred Scott, the US Supreme Court ruled [in 1857] that no Black, mulatto, or Indian shall be allowed to give evidence in favor of or against a white man. The Chinese would fare no better.
Male voice: "Our countryman, Ling Sing, was killed by a white man named George Hall. Two of us saw Ling Sing killed. And now we have to find his family in China and tell them bad news. We go to court for Ling Sing, but the highest man in the court, Judge Murray, just like other white people -- no respect for us Chinese."
From People v. Hall, 1854, Hugh G. Murray, Chief Justice, California Supreme Court (1852-1857): They are a race of people whom nature has marked inferior. If admitted to the witness stand, we will soon see them at the polls, in the jury, box upon the bench and in our legislative halls."
Prof. Gary Okihiro, Cornell University: "The law, Justice Murray argued, was designed to shield White people from the inferior races. Now, what that did, was besides protecting a color privilege or color line made Chinese especially susceptible to white violence like it indeed encourage violence against Africans and American Indians because it was open season on them. They couldn't testify against their white assailants in a court of law."
Different in race, language and culture, the Chinese were the object of continuous attack. Yet, their being Chinese was exactly the source of the strength and confidence they needed to play their part in the making of America.
Prof Roger Daniels: "From every immigrant group, Italians, Greeks, Poles, about 1 immigrant in 3 in the 19th century, not Chinese immigrants, about 1 immigrant in 3 went back. Some went back more than once. So the Chinese are different because they're perceived as being as a different race. And they're different because they are the first group to be systematically excluded by law."
Prof Chan: "A vast majority of the first Chinese women to land in America were made into prostitutes. Again, you see, I don't say 'They were prostitutes, okay?' just as I don't say, 'Africans were slaves.' Africans were enslaved. And so I talk about Chinese women who were impressed into prostitution."
In this unprecedented mix of people, who are the Chinese? They are the first group of non-whites who are also foreigners. They arrive at a time when the nation is arguing the issue of free labor versus slave labor and in less than 10 years, fighting the American Civil War. Native Americans are being removed from their lands. African Americans are still in slavery. What all three have in common is that they are prevented by laws from either owning property or becoming citizens.
John Bigler, Governor of California (1852-1856): The Act of Congress confines the description of aliens capable of naturalization to free white persons. This excludes the inhabitants of Africa and their descendants, the copper-colored natives of America or the tawny or yellow races of the Asiatics."
California imposed something called a Foreign Miners Tax (1850s - 1870) to be applied to all foreigners. The French, Germans and English ignored it. The Mexicans refused to pay, saying they were not foreigners. Only the Chinese, being so visibly foreign, had the Foreign Miners Tax unfailingly collected.
[ANCESTORS IN AMERICAS: CHINESE IN THE FRONTIER WEST, AN AMERICAN STORY - A Film By Loni Dong]
Add to that the Chinese exclusionary act that barred Chinese entry, including legal immigrants from retrieving their wives, leaving Chinese men without their companions. The discriminatory taxes against Chinese exclusively.
I did say that Asian-Americans were still discriminated so I'm not denying that we are still lacking power. Yeah, that's an argument that we don't have it that easy, do we?
Yes, I'm not into comparing which genocides are worse. Is Pol Pot's genocide of 1 million Cambodians any less tragic and horrific than the 6 million genocide of Jews during the Holocaust?
We really are on the same side of the debate but differ in the degrees.
There is one certifiable nutcase on here who wrote 100 "letters" and answered themselves many times on here.
GET HELP!
I bring this up to show how unequal the playing field is. A kid who can afford to go to Harvard or other private schools will have access to more than the kid who is really smart but could only afford the local state school.
Let's dig deeper on the issue instead of generalizing.
# 281 | TO CINDY : My Opinion | April 8, 2006 03:52 AM
I have to say that the playing field might be unequal but the US has a wider playing field compared to the a 3rd world country like the Philippines. Although you’re correct that oftentimes a school’s rep might tip the scale in favor of an Ivy league grad compared to somebody from the local state school. But I think if you’re really smart and you know where the opportunities are and tap it, you will excel.

“Malaya, because your parents emphasized educationa and because there is a 96% literacy rate in Philippines does not mean there is something inherent in Philipino culture that favors education.”
Yes it is inherent in our culture. We put importance to education that’s why the government is having programs that gives access to education. Programs are set for students to strive for excellence. Hence, most top graduates of our public schools (hi-school & elementary) if not all are automatically given scholarships and if you’re a valedictorian your given a cash fund plus scholarship on reputable school of your choice.
Education gives a sense of wellbeing. That security is derived from and depends on the level of human capital – i.e. our investment on health, knowledge, skills and values that we have, as well as the rights and opportunities that are given to apply to various human endeavors. Among these endeavors, employment is important because livelihood and income provide for our basic needs, or we use to improve ourselves (personally and careerwise) and give us a sense of self-worth that we have achieved something as person. And by getting an education or access to it, having that sense of achievement and sell worth, is the realization of these capabilities.
I think you’ve put too much importance on the school’s rep. In my opinion having a diploma from Harvard may guarantee a person a better place in the corporate world but it does not mean that all of them end up to be success stories. Incompetence will still show even if you’re from a reputable school.
I think its correct to compare ancient civilization to modern society w/ regards to this topic since we are talking about value systems here.

I could not agree with you more, malaya. The reputation of a college may lend prestige to get one's foot in the door, but it doesn't guarantee a wiser individual. There are some morons coming out of Harvard, as well as a state university, with the difference the Harvard alumna overpaid for his education. I knew of someone who went to Brown University (one of the Ivy League schools) and she echoed the sentiment.
I think its correct to compare ancient civilization to modern society w/ regards to this topic since we are talking about value systems here.
# 304 | malaya | April 8, 2006 05:41 AM
I MEANT TO SAY Its INCORRECT correct to compare ancient civilization to modern society w/ regards to this topic since we are talking about value systems here.
Cindy,
After his post I end this argument, why? My folks marched down in the South one summer against Jim Crow. My parents have always taught us that we have an easier ride because we are White. They explained to us that we needed to have compassion for other people because like Brad Pitt says "We may be created equal but we are not born equal".
I cannot believe you as a minority in your attempt to have people validate your people's oppression (valid enough) discredits the level of harshness of Black slavery.
Your examples above, forgive me, are furhter proof of how misguided and in denial you are.
It is not a question of measuring scars. The amount of years, 400, the legal doctrines, the sytematic oppression of Blacks does not equal the opression of the Chinese here. It never will. Obviously this upsets you. However, I hate to tell you, it will never be the same.
This is the reason (and this may sound patronizing) I have true respect for the Black community - it is the "bastard" community - no matter what it does, its right to claim its brutal history is always and always taken away from it - first by White people then by the groups that White people train so well - the Immigrant groups.
You are doing the White man's job quite well. You are dividing and conquering. You are so preoccupied with your discrimination that you cannot see that in light of what Blacks went through - consider yourself lucky.
The Irish were considered filth. In Louisiana, educated Blacks would not associate with the Irish. Yet, I understand what priviledge we had from the get go.
But it simply is not the same. I won't even bother with you to bring up supporting evidence because we would be here forever.
I will say this. it is very typical of immigrant groups here as I said to come to America and judge the experience of the Blacks when in fact you are here because of the sweat of their unpaid free labor.
The reason you can discredit the Black exprience and the level of oppresion that is unprecedented is because they worked to establish the empire that allows you to discredit them.
Also, groups succeed in America because White America feels unthreatened enough to LET them succeed. I hate to tell you this. The minute you become a threat as an Asian group believe me the banks that so quickly give you a loan to open your business while they systmatically deny Latinos and Blacks business loans would turn their backs. America supports a group once it is convenient to do so. This is how racist White Americans can be.
This is why I cannot live anywhere in the US but here in Northern California - they have just as many wacko White liberals (with slavery guilt) as I. And I would not have it any other way.
You're really something, Abbie. You're reading what you want to see. I'm not dividing and conquering. Did you see anything in my original post that even belittled the plight of the Black. A resounding NO. It was you who dismissed the Asians as being spared of discrimination. PLEASE!!
You sound like the New Yorker I ran into the other time over Oprah, as a White knowing better than a minority of our own experiences.
Here, you seem the only minority that suffered are Blacks, Native Americans and Latinos. Do yourself a favor in boning up on the Asian-American experience before YOU make it into a Black versus Asian debate. I never did.

Chinese American miners reworked old claims at times and in places where they were prevented by law or racial violence from filing their own claims. Especially after it was ruled that Chinese could not testify in court against Whites, [22] the only reasonable course of action was to try to avoid open confrontation. or direct competition with Whites.
They retained their Chinese citizenship, since they were not allowed to become citizens of the United States. They could not vote, hold public office, or be employed by the State. Their future here was uncertain, even though they paid taxes and contributed to the economy of the country.
In 1855, an anti-Chinese convention was held in Shasta County to expel the Chinese from mining claims. [38] Shortly afterward, the California Legislature passed an act to discourage immigration to the state by persons who could not become citizens and who were, for the most part, Chinese. [39]
One of the earliest acts of racial violence against Chinese immigrants took place in 1856, when white miners from outlying camps marched down to Yreka's Chinese American community, destroyed property, and beat up Chinese Americans.
http://www.cr.nps.gov/history/online_books/5views/5views3b.htm
As the Chinese population in the Pacific Northwest increased, so did hostile responses from many prejudiced whites in the region. Anti-Chinese sentiments frequently became enshrined in legislation that denied the Chinese equal treatment under the law and limited their economic opportunities. The Oregon Territorial Legislature, during the1856-57 session, passed a bill to tax all Chinese miners two dollars a month. In 1866, the Idaho Territorial Legislature passed a similar law that assessed “All Mongolians, whether male or female” a foreign miner’s tax of five dollars a month.
Chinese immigrants frequently became targets of violence.
In Idaho in the 1870s and 1880s, for example, whites raided opium dens, destroyed shacks, and assaulted and robbed many Chinese. Other Chinese were murdered. In February 1879, the massacre at Loon Creek near the Yankee Fork of the Salmon River claimed the lives of fifteen “celestials.” In Washington, riots in Tacoma and Olympia during the mid-1880s resulted in the banishment of the Chinese from both communities. In March 1886, an anti-Chinese mob ordered Chinese residents to leave Portland; however, swift response by City leaders and police protected the Chinese and prevented the mob from carrying out their threats. Chinese immigrants in other areas were not as fortunate. For example, in 1887 in Hell’s Canyon of the Snake River, whites robbed and massacred thirty-one Chinese miners.
Chinese immigrants, like African Americans in the era of Jim Crow laws, often found it difficult to receive equal treatment in the courts. Perpetrators of violence against the Chinese usually escaped prosecution and punishment, and Chinese immigrants were denied the right to testify in court against whites. In addition, Chinese immigrants tried in the courts could not expect a fair trial.

Yeah, it's so much easier to argue with rhetoric than supporting evidence, but that shows how even Ivy League schooling doesn't teach good reasoning skills.
Wow malaya. It is inherent in your culture huh to be educated and love education?
I don't believe in inherent things. I believe in socialized things. Humans are created totally equally and then are socialized. Socialization with a sudden change of the tides can alter a group's progression or path.
It is inherent in every culture to want good and to succeed. Not all achieve this.
I think you and Cindy sound incredibly vain. As if Asians are the ONLY ones who place emphasis on education.
You know what, talk to me when the next President, VP, Secretary of State, American Idol winner, Best actress Oscar winner, Head of Sallie Mae and Morgan Stanley is Asian.
Until then , cut the crap with your "we put emphais on succeeding" argument. All humans do. But some are royally screwed over by the system.
Look what is happening in a short period to the Muslim and Arab communities? Total discredit of their thousand year old culture becasue 10 ass holes decide to attack us.
Don't get comfortable in your culture - at any time the racists came make you lose it all. History proves this.
Let's not get cocky. Your culture is not any more in touch with good things as anyone else. With this I sign off, I think you two are way too one sided for my taste. Angelina Jolie would never speak as you do. You are on her thread by the way...
"I think you and Cindy sound incredibly vain."
Nope, you just have an incredible problem in reading comprehension with a savior complex.
Cindy 2: Aah, the attack. Do you know who I have these debates with normally? My liberal ( a little on the lefty side I'll admit) fellow Stanford buddies (PH D's , MFA , MA's) who are more interesting than you.
Why is it people like yourself want to so quickly discredit the Ivy League? Hah! There is a place and time to strut my stuff (my intellectual stuff) and on a Brangelina thread in a debate with a crazed closed-minded googling nut is not the place to "show what I know" as you so desperately want to do.
You kow how to google so you post your "supporting evidence" Why would I waste my time to leave the thread, google sensationalist crap then come back and call it a well debated topic. Why? Silly girl. Enjoy your illusion of history. Must be nice to be in a world of no conflict - a world where only Cindy exists because then little Cindy is always right.
Must be a fun world. take care.
My dear, don't shirk from the passive-aggressive shots you took at me long ago. Even then, I tried to be patient with you. So don't pretend you've been so prim and proper.
"With this I sign off, I think you two are way too one sided for my taste. Angelina Jolie would never speak as you do. You are on her thread by the way..."
Clearly you must have disconnect between what you say and what you do. Let me see, you were signing off? Oh, was that contingent on your having the last word?
Such delusions of grandeur, too, to speak for Angelina. Next time you want to channel her, tell her she must leave your body right away.
If indeed you've graduated from an Ivy League school, its accreditation should be taken away. Sheesh, to dismiss supporting evidence and documentary facts of an alumnae, the school should be embarrassed.
No Cindy I could not sign off. I just couldn't. Too much pleasure in reading your post where you want to so believe I could not have gone to Stanford. I am not surprised, your masturbating posts are your attempt at shouting "I want someone to think I am smart"! whereas you come off as simply ...oh..simple.
Going to Stanford is not a big deal for me. As I said, my parents worked like dogs to put me through very good private schools all my life and so going to Stanford was expected. Hell, I thought it was a step down because I really wanted Princeton. But who wants to live in Jersey? Not enough liberals. And bad drinking water.
But I can see how a simpleton like yourself would think it's such a BIG deal to go to OH MY GOD Stanford - why I get all my google quotes from them. Oh my God like cool.
Thanks for making me laugh.

I will also mention one of the founders of YAHOOis an asian american. So are a lot of Nat. SPELLING BEE champions. Very little time, got to work. Before i forget ! TIGER WOODS.
Ah, an admission you're not a woman of your words. Then again, your words were worth nothing anyway. So thanks for demonstrating that for us. Haters aren't the only ones speaking out of their asses. Pretentious, overpaid educated frauds do, too. Thanks for proving that.
"Masturbating posts" must be so clever discovery for you, huh? Gee, that's under tired cliche. Use that brain to conjure up a new line.
Yup, I hit a nerve with you all right for all that defensive posturing over your "Stanford." Yeah, as if anything out of a pretentious philistine is believable when her posts don't support she has any intelligence whatsoever. There you go, for Stanford to educate a student, she must first have the ability to READ and REASON - clearly two skills you lack.
The more you post, the more EVIDENCE you provide supporting that accurate characterization of you.
# 316 | freida | April 8, 2006 06:48 AM
Freida, nice try with citing clear examples of successful Asian-Americans but the second coming of Robert Kennedy cannot see Asians. They are the invisible ethnicity, which is the reason for her utter ignorance of Asian-Americans.
I said best actress winner Freida. Where is the best actress winner who is Asian? Please read post..again.
Gong Li should of been nominated and should of won best actress for "Raise The Red Lantern" the film directed by probably the best Chinese director - Zhang Yimou.
My favorite fim of his is HERO - another overlooked masterpiece. Anyway...
Now, are you disagreeing with me that Asians are underrepresented in Hollywood, in politics and in business? Please don't tell me you're disagreeing with me.
My girlfriend Wei is an actress in L.A. She auditions for the "girlfriend" parts because she is quite beautiful but never gets them - why? because directors believe it changes the dynamic of the film or whatever crap.
She auditions for commercials - nothing. She is very talented and has done commercials overseas but here? Nothing.
Sandrah Oh winning a Supporting role at Golden Globes in 2006 is not enough.
Cindy, ask not what your Junior college alma mater can do for you, ask what you can do for your Junior college alma mater.

Wow, and she quoth a John Kennedy line to a variation. Well, it just goes to show, a parrot can repeat any lines but won't understand a word she said. But I bet you'll understand this: "Polly want a cracker?"
Less toga parties and dancing with the lampshade on your head and your parents could have something to show for what they spent on your education. Too bad they don't.
Cindy you need to move to California - a wiff of some liberal Green party air and a stash of Northern country weed might loosen you up a little.
And don't worry, you would forget a few things right after a hit, but the next day, you will be fully restored to being SMART CINDY (some parts sold separately/batteries not included).
"Besides, education is not the only way to judge a human being or a group of people.
Think of ethnic tribes like the Masai or the Peruvian indigenous groups who have cultures that are extraordninary.
I think we’ve veered too far away from topic. We are talking about how education is valued by the Asians in general."
Also, my contention that Filipinos values education does not mean that I’m discounting the achievements of the ancient civilizations.

# 310 | Abbie - in response to Malaya and Cindy | April 8, 2006 06:13
Abigail, You don't need to resort to name calling to get you're point across. Where on our posts did we say that Asians are the only ones who values education? You are the one who SAID that. We didn’t. You assumed that. That was not our point.
I’m saying that we value education because that’s what our parents taught us and that what they’re parents value too. Family orientation or the love of family is one Filipino value. We respect and believe in what our parents teaches us. And one value they give importance to is education. Hence, an educational achievement makes our parents proud because in a sense it’s a fruit of their labors and they take pride in that. The children, also gives their appreciation by doing well in school and completing their education.
Given the proper conditions and the sense of security that an education brings we also have the capacity for hardwork. The desire to raise one’s standard of living and to posses the essentials of a decent life for one’s family, combined with the right opportunities and incentives, drives us to work hard. One way to achieve those opportunities (employment opportunities), is thru education. However, even if we have the human capital (educated labor pool) our country has not been successful in using our human resources well. The lack of economic activities in some areas of the country, the lack of job opportunities that suits the skill or educational background our labor pool have drives them seek opportunities elsewhere. Hence, we have OFWs (overseas foreign workers) to thank for keeping our economy afloat by sending their remittances to their families in the Phils.
“Aah, the attack. Do you know who I have these debates with normally? My liberal ( a little on the lefty side I'll admit) fellow Stanford buddies (PH D's , MFA , MA's) who are more interesting than you.”
What are you trying to achieve here? Are we suppose to genuflect like hoi polios because you have debates with people from Stanford? Granted you were fortunate to be schooled at an Ivy League school, but I have to say one thing it has failed at in this instance is TO TEACH ITS student TO BE APPRECIATIVE OF what she has achieve and be HUMBLE in their achievements & success.
I thought you were smoking a little too much of that pot. It explains everything, mon!
You still haven't shown you know anything about being smart, except being a smartass. Even then, you're not witty enough to hang as a smartass. Okay, that just leaves ass.
Any other hallucinogens you want to recommend in your quack business?
# 324 | cindy2 | April 8, 2006 07:11 AM
"I have to say one thing it has failed at in this instance is TO TEACH ITS student TO BE APPRECIATIVE OF what she has achieve and be HUMBLE in their achievements & success."
More important she is the best example that an Ivy League can produce morons as much as a vocational school. With her lack of reasoning, I do believe she didn't go to any college. Instead, she took basketweaving. Still she never got the trick of over and under, over and under.
Forget it, malaya, it didn't take too long to show Abbie's true colors - a troll.
"I thought you were smoking a little too much of that pot. It explains everything, mon!"
+++++++++++++++++++++++
"MON" as in the Jamaican Patois word for Man?
Ahh. I see Cindy's logic: Weed topic. Must get Jamaican accent. Cindy operates on word (stereotyping) association. Good job Cin - clue # 10. Check.
# 326 | Abbie response to Cindy | April 8, 2006 07:16 AM
Tthe "liberal" White is now the racist monitor, where even PC would be repulsed by you. Gosh, let's given her honorary ethnicity since she is representing (oh-oh, I'm using that urban slang, now I'm even more "racist") more than minorities themselves.
What a joke you are.
I get it. Cindy's Immigrant family puts stress on education. She has read all these books and like stuff. Then she sees all these you know "Mic" girls getting into Ivy League schools and all they have to do is show their pasty tits. And this makes Cindy really really jealous so Cin must find ways to discredit them cause you know like college is about like googling, ya know...cool, huh?
This is too funny. I must leave now but it has been a true pleasure. You two are hilarious. But seriously I must go . Please go ahead and continue your debate without me.
Unless you come back with another vicious Jamaican comment then I will have to kick your ass cause Bob Marley was the man.
And to all my other friends: Legalize it/Don't criticize it.
Thanks to Stanford for giving me confidence to not overcompensate and to my " Mic" parents for teaching me to laugh at fools. Go Bono!
Haven't you shown enough "Abbie" that thinking doesn't suit you? We get it. You've proven your point. You can go back to twiddling with your thumbs now. Or as intellectually arrested as you are, go back to sucking your thumb.
You haven't kicked anybody's ass but have shown how limber you are in your ability to kiss your own ass.
You're even deeper in that sinking hole of yours than when you were undercover. Imbecile. We got that. Can't read. We got that. Can't think out of a paper bag. We got that. Delusional. We know that. Jackass. Stating the obvious.
Don't let that door hit you on your ass. I wouldn't want yet another thing to smack you upside your head as you leave.
# 319 | Abbie to Freida | April 8, 2006 06:56 AM
I get it now. Your gripe is really because of the discrimination suffered by your friend in HW. Maybe you should tell your friend to get rid of her colonial mentality and to embrace her culture. Maybe she auditioned for Eponine when she's better off as Linda Low in Flower Drum Song. Maybe she should accept the fact that HW directors and script writers are still not comfortable w/ casting Asians as the lead or Asian characters and Asian inspired stories is not the type that HW execs or studios takes a gamble on because they feel that it does not appeal to the general HW movie audience.

If this is the kind of attitude that you a self-confessed ivy leaguer have, THEN I'm glad I didn't go to your ivy league school. You're a disgrace to that educational institution and its such a shame that you really is the same as the incompetent fool that I used to work with who graduated from Harvard w/ honors, BTW. (NO Offense to the other Harvard graduates among w/c are some friends and acquaintances). Whose idea of a solution belongs to a lab and won't be workable in the practical world.
Malaya, her whole defensive posturing says it all about her complex. Remember her proclamation that she would leave as if we'd give a care? She was never an invited guest for us to even care except she was expelling noxious carbon dioxide. In her quest for that ultimate high, she upgraded to carbon monoxide. Too much brain damage.
Not all education is created equal and she got the short end of the stick of it.

One of the things that I cannot let any get a free pass of is ARROGANCE.
"Not all education is created equal and she got the short end of the stick of it."
Indeed....
Hey Malaya, once again thanks for sharing troll patrol with me.
I'll have to bid you a great weekend and I'll see you Monday for another night of beating of the trolls.
Abbie. why don't you go find a can of Raid. sit on it and kill whatever it is that you have up your butt that has gotten your panties in a wad... Your attitude is a poor reflection of your "Standford
education."
Cindy 2 - Malaya - Good morning and tag.. My turn at the defense line tag team. lol
Good morning Elena!
I knew you would have something to add. Man, isn't Abbie an embarrassment to the legacy of John Kennedy?
Anyway, I'm going to have to leave so I'll bid you also a great weekend.
You will man the chalkboard for another lesson in case she reappears under another name, k? She's just a hater under the liberal-hypocrite clothing.

I was planning on seeing The Break-up. However now I realize JA fans are a bunch of racists foul mouth losers. The last thing I want to do is be sitting in a movie theatre next ot a bunch of delusional KKK loving idiots.
#289- Response to Cindy
"Yet, they are not economically stable. Why? The Immigration issue is one - a lot are here illegally and cannot benefit from the system. Yet they emphasize hard work" I disagree in part to this. They do not pay income tax - they get an increasingly large share of the funding that is given to our public school system . Our county hospitals are required to provide for the medical needs of these individuals regardless of immigration status. In fact illegal aliens have better medical care than the majority of low income native born with no insurance.
For the record, I am a Latina who has been and active participant in the public education system. The funding that is available for scholarships for Hispanic is way more than the funding that is available for Anglos of the same academic record...

Glad you pointed that out Elena. Abbie was trying to steer the argument that Asians values education more than other ethnic groups in the US or other parts of the world.
TO: Jared
appreciate it if you can delete my post where it displayed elena's email. I'm sure she doesn't want it displayed. thanks...
Haven't read all through this, but wanted to let Stef know that I know she is too smart to normally get involved with people like that. Power went out last night and couldn't respond! But I just hope we can all ignore the people desperate for attention, because BAMZ fans are the best, adn chatting with them is much more interesting than with those other people!
A big reason why asian female movie stars have it so hard in hollywood is because most of the world look to the western standards of beauty, even in Asian, everyone is asian wants double lids and a high nose bridge and high cheek bones. Asian women have bollywood and HK and China movie industry, they have been turning more money and better movies than Hollywood there's no reason for them to fight it out for one role per year in hollywood.
Worried--Yes. The most rabid BAMZ-haters spew their hatred for multi-race children and minorities, and BAMZ drive them crazy because of this. I's pretty sure JA isn't like this, but why does she attract these racist fanatics who want to slam innocent children? It doesn't speak well for her.
And on a less high-minded note--I'll go see "The Breakup" when little pink pigs fly past my window.
Good Morning All,
I just finished reading all the comments and I am at a loss on where to begin. First off, I want to say well done for ignoring all the silly posts, I for one couldn't take it any longer, that's why I left for a while. Cindy2, Malaya and Abbie you guys conducted your selves very well, it was an interesting read. Haing said that, I will go to the issue at hand.
Education.
Like I mentioned earlier, I come from a small country in West Africa, compared to all the other big countries that surrounds it, Benin is often time ignored when it comes to matters of foriegn policiy. Our ties to fame cames from the close knoy relationship we have with France (lol). Education is emphasized, they believe it is stepping stone to infinity....my mum is alsways saying that with Education, the sky is the limit to what you can acheive. Since I can only speak for those around me, I'd say most Benin's and even Africans believe that. I have Ghanian , Nigerian, Senegalese friends who are all about Education. They were preped that way from babies. I know people who feel....for lack of a better word ashamed that all they have is a Bachelors Degree, They shy away from telling people that. It's funny when I hear my mum and her friends talk and they go on about the level of education so and so child has or which schools they attend. Like someone said in an earlier post, Education is a very important step in solving most of the problems in third world countries. We can have all the money thrown at us but if we don't have the knowledge to make use of the money it's a moot. I'll give you an example about what lack of Education can do, Just recently my sister who is an MD, got upset over something she had read in one of her medical Newsletter, she went into a tirade because the former president of an African Country (I won't mention the country) said he took a shower after having sex with a young woman, so he wasn't afraid of getting HIV virus. I'll give you a moment to gasp and reread that statement again. Now my sister works with other African Doctors who lobby with Pharmacutical companies for AIDS drugs for African countries, was very upset to say the least. She said, why are we sending drugs when the first thing we need to do is educate these people about HIV and AIDS, we have gone about this the wrong way, if we educate, we might have a lesser need for the drugs. That was an epiphany for her, of course I, putting on the younger sister attitude armour on, thought "well duh" . Education is empowerment.
Abbie, I understand the guilt you feel because I feel it too. Sometimes, I think would I be who or what I am if it weren't for the fact that my father is who he is? If I was born into another family, I might not be here. Even in the midst of other Benins, I find it difficult to tell them the schools I went to, you know how some people try to overplay their achievements, well I try to underlay mine. I felt so guilty, I began to dislike those people I felt got an easy pass, people like me. About two years ago, I got into a heated discussion with my cousins, it started over s pair of shoe. I won't bore you with the details but let's just say I thought she paid a ridiculous amount for a pair of shoes. Oh my, you should have seen me, so self rightously going after her for being insensitive, spending money that can feed two families (not really but I was trying to make a point) on shoes that would probably last two months. Finally I burst out saying, I was ashamed of her...of us, because we really don't deserve the thing we have. I didn't have to turn back to feel my mother behind me, trust me I knew I had gone too far and I Knew without a doubt it was pay time. She dragged me away and told me that I could exchange insults with my cousin from now till kingdom come but saying I was ashamed of my family was crossing the line. We went through the usual back and forth dialog and finally she told me that maybe God (yeah every discussion with m mother ends with God) had a reason for putting me in this position instead of someone who lacked a concience. Someone who will just take, take and take without giving a second thought about those who don't. That made sense to me, it took a while but it did. In their own little ways, my cousins, sisters, brothers and friends do things to help those in need. Yes maybe God had a reason for putting us here, just like he did with you Abbie. Empathy, if everyone had empathy for others, the world would be a better place. of course, the problem with empathy is that you can't pick and choose who to empathize with. I can't say because Nigeria and Ghana are much bigger countries, who have more opportunities than we did, I won't empathize with their poor. Suffering is suffering, Pain is pain, these things can't be measured. Minority, majority it doesn't matter, there is always someone suffering in these groups. Forget where and what they are, look only at the pain. You are one of a few, who seem to understand that Racial discrimination is not just an excuse, this makes me believe that there is a reason for that. I am also glad that you see the hardship for muslims because it is really nasty. I was brought up in a christian/muslim home and it amazes me that people think one is the religion of the devil and the the other is the path way to heaven or vice versa. These two religions have more in common than anyone thinks, the differences are just magnified.
As for the lack of certain monirities in some areas of power, I'll like to take a stab at that. In my opinion, not every immigrant wants to be established here....that sound awful. What I mean is, some immigrants are only here to gain as much knowledege as possible so they can go back to their countries and do something there. I know an absolutly brilliant movie director, who everyone believes will make it in hollywood but he has no intrest in hollywood, he wants to go back to his country and take care fo the movie industry there. I grew up watching Indian movies and trust me, in the last ten years, the movie industry has gone thorugh a complete makeover. One of the leading directors that brought about this change, studied in London. After school, he picked up and went back to India and Bollywood. I am not saying that there isn't discrimination, what I am saying is that that is not the only reason we don't see minorities, especially immigrants in certain areas. There is this mentality of "Why should I do good in a country that has an overabundance when I can do better in a country that is lacking?"
We can only identify with the people close to us, so when Cindy2 and Malaya say Asians place a lot of emphasis on Education, they don't mean that other cultures don't.
Malaya it is a complex subject matter as one has to take account of all the variables within the system and within each culture. Just as Cindy2 has already written. I won't say any more here other than it has been my observation that one of the differences is that the Asian immigrants tend to adopt the American dream concept quickly while othes perhaps are much slower to assimilate into it.
I do have yahoo but that is not my e-mail address, so don't worry and thanks.
"I won't say any more here other than it has been my observation that one of the differences is that the Asian immigrants tend to adopt the American dream concept quickly while othes perhaps are much slower to assimilate into it.
As a country that has been colonized and occupied by Western interest, we tend to look up at the West as a model and Western influences are reflected in almost all aspects of our lives w/c includes education. Our educational system was introduced by the Americans hence for example when children learn their ABCs A is for apple even if in the early days some of them haven't seen an apple except of in the pages of their books.
W/ much of our way life influenced by the West specifically by the Americans, hence the so called "colonial mentality" that most Filipinos is manifested in many us migrating to the US seeking for the American dream.
Brangelina rocks....
nice talking to everyone. AG, Elena, Stef and the others sorry if I forgot your name.

Malaya , one of the things I have always admired is how strong and indipendent the Filipino women I have met are. Definitely success oriented.
Cindy, Malaya, Abbie:
Good morning from NYC. I guess you guys are in PST--It's not fair I missed this interesting debate :)
Abbie said:
"I don't believe in inherent things. I believe in socialized things. Humans are created totally equally and then are socialized."
"It is inherent in every culture to want good and to succeed. "
In a 'perfect world' I would like to believe thatand there is no 'inherit' cultural implication of people's 'will to succeed'.
But in real world IMO this whole debate on 'Asians excelling' and 'Blacks left behind' is not so cultural, but more socioeconomic. Take India for example--the top elite cast Indians are spectacularly educated, many ending up in Harvard+MIT while majority live in extreme poverty and illiteracy.
Good morning from Central Time, (Wow, the night sure is alive with ideas--blink, you miss out.)
I was impressed by the discussion on EDUCATION. Particularly, thanks to Original Curious #221, Be Sane, Malaysia #268, Cindy2, and others:
The impact of immigration on education is a big deal where I teach elementary school and in my neighborhood.. There's a lot of fear that the current U.S. immigration changes will cause many grandparents and family members to be deported after working their entire lives here, contributing to the backbone of our economy, and silently accepting life circumstances that would be horrid for middle America--all simply for the chance to live in peace without the worry of paying off corrupt police, sending their children to beg on streets, or worse.
The children I teach at school are like my own children. To think their family will lose their right to exist here peacefully with everyone else is frightening. The children don't understand why laws would make grandma move back to Mexico or Central America. (And most of these kids are being raised by their grandparents!) It is unbelievably cruel.
Furthermore, we are pressed at public schools to push these children to pass high stakes exams, where if they don't they are retained and the school loses finances (which are already short.) Many of these children grow up knowing only Spanish, and to force them to pass an English reading test to be promoted to the next grade is causing us to have teenagers in elementary school! Helloooo! Who's more likely to drop out? A student with extra support and acceptance of their diverse background, or those forced to stay behind in the same grade. This is closet discrimination disguised as concern for all children (NCLB anyone?)
Go ahead, knock me off my soap box, but know that millions of minorities are ready to lose their parents and will sacrifice everything to stay in a school system that is forced to leave them behind. No Child Left Behind should be called, "No White, Middle-Class Child Left Behind" in classes with children of darker skin. Maybe we should send the lawmakers back to school in our poorest districts and let them fend for themselves. I wonder how many will be shouting to, "Pull yourselves up by the bootstraps!" Ignorant, careless, greedy men..OK I'm sorry to rant.
Please, folks, keep up the discussion on the differences of education between nations and immigrants. It needs further discussion.

"public school have more students per teacher tha private and at private schools ( at least some of them) classes are smaller than public. I do have a very good friend who have a son attending E.D. So good luck."
Thanks so much. In fact my daughter just got accepted by a private kindergarten/elementary school yesterday, specialized in high functioning, high cognitive-skill-children who are diagnosed with PDD. It has 8 -3 ratio (eight kids three teachers). It would be WONDERFUL but the tuition is enormous. We might qualify for Board of Ed assistance with all our diagnosis, and we might actually have to hire a lawyer to get it.
Here it comes, the socioeconimic divide... we will borrow money if we have to, but the point is we still can and my daughter will get help one way or another. But kids with learning disability from disadvantage household will not get help, and will remain behind.
Just looked at the post and I am disappointed and proud at the same time-I believe we should have discussions regarding what our views are but we should not stoop to criticizing each others points of view-All of our experiences are different-I see truth and logic to all that was said. I am African-American, black, negro or whatever the term that is used-I like AJ for reasons that I have stated-it has nothing to do with her education-Let me say this, the US has some poor people, but the term poor is very relative-I have a question:If an 8 year old girl has to wash maggots off of meat in order to eat is she poor? IF this same girl is paraded in her front yard naked then beaten by her father, is she poor? Does she have the same opportunities the Chinese, whites, and other people in the US? If the first penis that penetrates her is that of her father, is she poor? Can she achieve like everyone else? Are the same opportunites there for her-by the way she is a black little girl born in 1945-so then tell me can we expect her to finish high school, go to college? become a doctor, lawyer??? Or does she have a better chance of becoming an unwed mother who is an alcholic and whore?
Malibumom, I agree with you. There is no way any can measure pain and suffering, we should all be careful in trying to empathize with someone else's sufferring we belittle another.
Like you said, poverty is relative. I guess the only way to understand this is too see it first hand. That experience can change you in an instant suddenly everything you think you are or have means little compared to the strength shown by an eight yrs whose responsibility it is cater for her family.
It is very easy for me to believe that Angelina Jolie's concern is real or that when she said Cambodia changed her.
Exactly-So it doesn't matter what you are or what your circumstance are or where you come from-what matters is how determined you are to overcome it and or if there is an environment somewhat conducive to you being in a situation better than you were-Success is also relative-That little girl may not have received a degree from Harvard-maybe she graduated from high school and learned skills that enabled her to be a manager at walmart;nevertheless we could not call her unsuccessful-I think Angelina is just trying to help people to become better or have a better situation than they do-They may never live in a mansion, but at least they will know how to grow food or have the tools necessary to do so-
Am I losing my great memory or did Vince Vaughn tell a journalist that he is not the type of guy to take the same woman home all the time??
#355- My filters: My children all went to public school. I have always been an involved parent and have done just every position including President of the PTA on 3 levels. I was awarded a Life membership because of my time and efforts on behalf of the schools and the children. As president of the PTA I was also a member of the the Site Based Management Teams of each school... I am also a Hispanic and have been on education boards dealing with issues that effect Hispanic students in my community. I have also been a substitute teacher and have a standing offer to work as an ESL teacher even though my degrees were not inn education. Now to get on my soapbox.
Zayana you did say what state you teach in or how long you have been a teacher but your comments definitely reflect naivete and a degree of ignorance. Or you have listened to LULAC's message and accepted it without paying attention to the facts.
" but know that millions of minorities are ready to lose their parents and will sacrifice everything to stay in a school system that is forced to leave them behind. "
Bush already addressed this issue with Presidente Vincente Fox. The issue is not about who is here right now ,but about how to control it tomorrow. It may be effecting your state's already burdened social services and schools. But for those states bordering Mexico, it is draining them .
Since illegal aliens do not have social security numbers, they neither pay income tax nor contribute to social security. However they can draw food stamps and Wick assistance as well as access to the public medical facilities of their city. Of course because their employer gets away with not reporting them or paying taxes, they cannot qualify for social security. The government wants to bring these people into the tax system rather than spend the massive amount of money which would be required to deport everyone. It will also cripple the building, farm, restaurant and other industries that depend on cheap labor and cause major economic hardship for many besides the immigrants, So to perpetuate the idea that these children's loved ones will be deported may be fulfilling the agenda of an organization or some individuals at the expense of the truth.
"No Child Left Behind should be called, "No White, Middle-Class Child Left Behind" in classes with children of darker skin. "
What a racist comment! My children were Merit Scholars as well as National Recognized Hispanic Students. They graduated with people who they had gone to school with since they started school . And looking around at the other parents at graduation and listening as the awards were announced as well as colleges there is something I noticed that we the parents of these high quality students , had in common.
No, it was not color and no it was not socio-economic level... It was that we all were involved and not passive in our child's blic school pueducation. We saw each other while helping the teachers or during fund raising for the school etc... There were kids who barely graduated or who dropped out that as much time as I had spent volunteering in/for schools whose parents I had never seen or met till graduation .
An involved parent is an educated parent...Not only because they keep up with their child's educational progress, but also because it how you learn to navigate the public education system not only at the school but at the ad. building. It is how you make sure that your child gets good teacher , applies to programs that are offered i.e. Magnet School.... Trust me those parents who I saw and worked with through the years as a pta member were the same people whose kids were all on their to college .. And no, everyone came from very socio economic levels. My children schools were predominantly mixed with the Hispanic students being the largest. If a parent does make school important then how can anyone expect a child to value it ? That my dear is not something that has color . It is about parenting.
It is why I support the idea of a voucher system. If the public school because of school board mismanage met and politics is not addressing your child's educational need, Then you have options that yes, do include private schools. Perhaps then instead of the current and long standing system of rewarding lack of achievement, schools will forced to upgrade the quality of the education they offer EVERYONE.
I suggest that if you want to lay blame on the current status quo in your school system you need not go further than to look to the Administration Building of your school district. If anybody should go back to the classroom, it is them.
For those of you how do not know, teachers get on the career track with the goal of making it to the ad building because that is where the money is. Once in there they get caught up in the bureaucracy and the politics for power and dominance (which equals funding)... Most boards are filled with individuals who make decisions that benefit their career rather than the children . That has been my observation with the Bi-lingual dept.
English is my language. I speak several languages and I have learned them all under the total immersion concept. The system used in my state spoon feeds English Language proficiency to mono-lingual Hispanic students. That is not available to other immigrant minorities..i,e, Vietnamese, African -they get a brief ESL primer and then get thrown in with all English. But at the end of one year, the Vietnamese child will be fluent in English and The Mexican student by not far from where he was before. But eventually he will mainstreamed and what happens then? Well as #355 pointed out his English language skills are minimal. So what happens , he falls further and further behind . He can only be held back once per grade so he gets promoted even though he still can't read or write English. Eventually the frustration of failure results in him or her dropping out.
#355 you advocate making exceptions for these children who do not speak English. But who does that benefit. Without English his future employment possibilities are limited . So are his educational options. After all, the English part of the SAT weigh more than the math and every college has a minimum standard, even junior colleges.
Be sane, I am not sure what state you live in but a good place to start finding out about what is available and what is not and how to go about making sure that your child gets what he/she needs or at even have the public school system pay for all or part of tuition for what they either don't have or can offer call and talk to your local school' PTA president or the parent member of the school's site base management member..They will know who to refer you to if they do not know.
Abbie mentioned that Asians are left out of alot of Arenas. I completely agree with you on that. But I don't know if we're left out or if it's just the simple fact that Asians themselves do not emphasize going into those arenas. For example, Abbie mentioned a lack of Asian CEOs and Asians in the entertainment industry. I completely agree with you on that. But it takes time. I am sure there will be more Asian CEOs and more Asians in the entertainment industry eventually. I have noticed they are starting to grow in these areas (M Knight Shamalan -sp?). Isn’t Lainey on LaineyGossip.com, Chinese? You have to work at it. It just doesn't come so easily. You see alot more black CEOs in this country and more blacks in the entertainment industry now. They are getting to where Jews were in the 1950s. I think it all has to do with culture and how we were raised. Asians are mostly raised to believe that going into the entertainment industry will end up in failure. It's a laughable career choice in our culture (sorry if that offends anyone in the entertainment industry or who look up to it). And with not so many Asians in this industry, it makes it even a harder concept to realize. Same goes for rising to a CEO level. If you don't have that many other Asian CEOs to help you along the way, it's going to be a slower and harder rise. And I do believe racism also is a cause for our lack in these arenas. For blacks and Jews, you have alot of them already in the entertainment industry, so it is easier for them to make it in that industry. Only recently now you are seeing more and more Hispanics in this industry, mostly with the help of other rising Hispanics or Hispanic moguls, such as Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Selma Hayek and Hispanics from the old days. Jews have conquered everything, Medicine, Entertainment, Law… you name it… money making jobs.
I would also like to add that Indians for example are rising in Medicine, and if you haven't noticed, you have alot of Indian doctors who are already heads of hospitals.
hey guys hows things going today, any more trouble? i cant believe that idiot stayed around last night. at least he/she is bumping up our thread.

The one thing I like about idiots on the internet is, they provide entertainment. Have to take them for what they are... stupid and lonely.

# 372 | GET YOUR GED ANGELINA |
Woah! Now that would require her to be sane and logical first. Not gonna happen.
Besides, going to college or getting your GED doesn't get the same headlines and photo ops jetting around to 3rd world countries and playing among the natives does.
Good point though.
Oh look. bamz cult members ganging up on someone making a perfectly valid point. And so mature as well.
What a surprise.
God Bless this woman. I wish more entertainers would do more to help those in need. She is both beautiful inside and out. Keep being you Ms. Jolie
#372
What are you doing to help ppl in this situation? Did you go to school, have food on your table, buy clothes, obviously, you have a computer, have a ceiling over your head? Hey, she have the money and time to do it for poor ppl.
What have done lately for somebody? You don't need a GED to feel love and compasion for others. I guess you have to be a moron and have a GED to be like you.
hey valid question,
oh so you guys coming here making crap remarks about her education is mature.
sure right!
dude when you can do what she does for the world a college education has no relevance to this place. she has done more than many can.
can you not see any good in her? or what she does.
if you cant i pity you.
#380 is for

Stef - What is the name of Angelina's book, I heard she was going to write a auto-bio type book. but I had no idea she has one out now.
hi ya mate,
Her book is called "Notes from my travels". i got my copy from amazon.
the word on the street is that she is going to write a book on how to adopt, but i think its just an idea for the time being.
#381
If you don't like what you see, what are you doing here? Are they talking to Angelina and Brad? No, so why suffer and get mad?
Don't LECTURE TO THE WORLD, IF YOU HAVE NO EDUCATION YOURSELF. LAZY WHITE TRASH HYPROCRITE.
#386
Everybody have a past, present and the choice to make a future, She choose to do a goodwill work and help others, Which is yours?
Whoa #381 I'm speechless. How much of your valuable time have you spent making that one post? If you admire Pitt/Jolie why not do something more meaningful with your time even if it's just volunteering at your local animal shelter. I'm really not trying to be nasty just kind of concerned. Have you ever thought you may be just a tad too involved with this?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH
A.J.
Rizos, i like your post!
i really cant understand these people, why come and blame angie for doing all these things when most of them are doing what they are convicting her of. not only that she can prove her good nature 1000+ times over they cant even prove there point in a thread!
Thank You, stef.
#388 Jess, I agree.
OK it's GREAT TO DO GOOD THINGS. BUT DONT GET ALL SUPERIOR AND LECTURE THE WORLD LIKE AN EXPERT ...when YOU don't even go to high school much less COLLEGE.
PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD, in africa and middle east, ARE HIGHLY EDUCATED, that's right MORE EDUCATED THAN JOLIE are people from AFRICA. But the PROBLEM IS THE ECONOMY PROVIDES NO JOBS FOR EVEN THE EDUCATED IN THE THIRLD WORLD> HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT RATES.
a message fro THE CAMPAIGN TO GET AN EDUCATION and GED FOR ANGELINA JOLIE.
er, i think you need to get you r facts right mate as she did get a high school diploma and she also studied in a new york uni/college! she did not finish her uni/college course because her career had just taken off, concidering that she was studing theatre also tells me she made the correct move as it meant no beating about the bush!
i myself am currently studing for a BA in theatre an it is on of the toughest courses at my uni! no joke its not all about performing! the text based work is demanding not to mention limited resourses!
dont get up on your high horse about things you think you know.
its not worth the trouble.
WELL THAT"S GREAT THAT SHE FINISHED HIGH SCHOOL.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JOLIE FOR WORKING HARD AND DROPPING OUT OF NYU.
NOT AN EXPERT >>GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE ANGELINA.
YOU DON"T HAVE TO SCREAM, G.E.D.
why would she need to carry on with uni if she had been given work doing what she was studing for?
if i got work tomorrow i wouldnt think twice!
oh by the way it wasnt NYU it was lee strasberg uni, get your facts right.
once you have been proved wrong most people would except there mistakes.
please find you own phrases too, i dont want my craft used for your attack
Angelina finished high school early at 16. Angelina had the CHOICE to go to college or leave. That is all she wants for all people. (Let me say most certainly girls who are normally the ones not educated in this world) Its sad if that kind of request is considerd being on a "high horse".
# 392
If you think A.J. is "superior"...YOU made yourself feel that way. Your insecurities got the best of you.
Why don't you use your knowledge for the right reasons?
I love to see her smile. Do you notice she seems happiest when she is helping others. What a great soul she has...only 30 years old and she has done so much with her life. Whether you like her or not.. you must admit she is a beautiful person with a wonderful spirit!! I hope she gets some time to rest and do what she enjoys without the PAPS on them!!!
BAMZ fans come in all shapes, races, colors and sexes. They are interesting and open-minded and witty.
Chin fans come in one shape (XXL), one sex (female). one color(white). They hate anything not familiar and safe. They react to irony or wit with a sledgehammer. Like their idol, they want to live in a cloistered little world and never leave it.
HAHA SHE DID GET A GED.
MOST PEOPLE ARE EDUCATED enough to
tell that JOLIE IS NO expert on GETTING AN EDUCATION.
Why does she have to act like an expert when she is not an
expert? Do good things but don't lecture the world on what to
do if you yourself can't committ to EDUCATING YOURSELF.
thank you,
ps the font size on this comment section is tiny, too small so I AM TYPING LIKE THIS TO READ. thanks.
I agree, 399
I am kind of sad, I haven't seen pictures of them lately, However, I am happy that they get to experience a little privacy at the moment.
I love it too when she smiles and I love to hear her voiece, sort of husky in a way. I wish her Joy and the family.
you are only and expert in something you practice! if we all practiced what we have learnt, the world would be a better place!
angelina jolie has had the opertunity to learn about the lifes of others who are less fortunate, she has been a field officer in these places where she has learnt lessons. so yeah she as practiced what she preaches and MADE herself an expert!
the word EXPERT from the dictionary:
skillful, knowledgeable in something, practiced!
kinda puts you in your big HOLE that YOU are DIGGING!
Before people get all high and mighty because people don't have college education, please keep this in mind.
Bill Gates dropped out of college, as well as Paul Allen, Steve Jobs, Faulkner, Edgar Poe, Steinbeck, the Wright brothers didn't even get their high school diploma. Etc.
Ok you might say, they are not movie stars. How about Richard Gere, Tom Hanks, Dustin Hoffman, to name a few, they too don't have college education.
You don't need a college education to recognize the plight of the poor and want to do something about that.
#292....
You say she souldn't lecture anyone or act superior. If there is anything she has gone out of her way to do, is not to lecture or act superior. She's got a passion for what she is doing and has chosen to educate herself on that. What is the point of get the wealth of degrees and not know jack about what really matters? For the love of God, don't try to belittle what she trying to do all because you are hung over her degree. Try to look beyond that, it should be a testiment to her dedication that if as you say she has no degree, she is still able to put herself out there.....to be ridiculed by people like you.
model is wrong. they are american . america is a country of great opportunities than the other country. education is the best way to success in life in the Third World .at least.
Susie--yes
I can't believe this "GED" person is talking such rubbish. You don't have to have a high class education to help the indigent ones, if that's how you look at it then my god this world would be more corrupt. I hope you reflect back to what you wrote and picture yourself in their situation.
Wow, now you have a problem that she did not finish college. PLEASE... how many actors go to college just on their celeb status alone? Come on!!!She did not want to go.... do you think a degree would have made her more money(lol)?? You are just looking to find something to make fun of. Haters it does not work... her fans are inspired by her, you silly comments just make us laugh. Thereare so many CELEBS you should be shooting your venum at, AJ is really not one of them.
"Looks like the negative posters are in fullsteam today. To Jess - why do sound so familiar? "
#378, Wow, you people are idiots. You think Jess is posting under different names? How foolish. I definitely know you guys are fools. You guys accused me of being Jess, remember? You BAMZ idiots need to get a grip. You guys will do anything to hide the truth. If anyone opposes Angelina or defends JA, they're either "haters," "JA fans," or posers. When the truth and reality of it all is that you should be more worried over and face the fact that alot of people who do not like Angelina anymore are NOT JA fans. If you're so defensive of her, that's what you should be MORE worried about. You can't face the fact that not only JA fans but alot of OTHERS, especially in America (where it really counts for fame) look down upon AJ.
You can be a sell out in America and still be popular in other countries. So don't give that crap that Angelina's famous all over the world. So, is Michael Jackson.
http://www.thecelebrityblog.com/2005/10/angelina-jolie-and-brad-pitt-are-engaged-says-ray-winstone/
hey guys, ive done my watch for the night, its late here, after last nights really late night im calling it in now.
hope your all ok. have a good rest of the night.
ill catch up with you lot tomorrow.
take care til then.
Rock on BAMZ+1. Love it!
While I agree that not all people who dislike AJ are fans of JA, I think there is a discrepancy in your argument.
That quote you used (not sure where it came from or if anything else was said), referred only to "negative posters" and not to JA fans or haters. In skimming through the comments, there are always people use terms such as "whore" and other derogatory terms and those are "negative" and unnecessary. Personally, those are the immature posts I don't even bother reading fully and in what I think of when the terms "negative posters" are used. I didn't even think about JA fans specifically. So this would indicate that it's your own reasoning that puts "negative posters" and haters-JA Fans together.
ADD: I just did a Find and wow...that quote was pulled from that really, really long comment. Someone who seems not to be a fan of AJ actually read all that? Imagine that.
crazy degenerates....I suppose Bill Gates should stop donating his millions to charitable causes because he dropped out of Harvard? what a bunch a rejects
Why are people posting such long comments???
ha ha ha. losers.
i get what 381 is trying to say. but i know you losers won't.
NO, But BILL GATES DOESN"T try to SOUND like an EXPERT and he HAS CONTINUED TO STUDY IN HIS FIELD> COMPUTER PROGRAMMING.
JOLIE IS A JOKE. it's one thing to give and promote, but to sound
like a FAKE EXPERT ON THINGS.
haha.
hate her or love her...let's just say god is the only right person to judge.
#415: you obviously dislike AJ, but yet you have it so wrong. She has herself said that she is not expert but she is an ambassador to give the causes a face. Therefore, news organization will ask her questions. There is a reason why many charitable causes choose to have a celebrity as a spokesperson.
#417: you are clearly someone with a very racist attitude and thus, you make yourself sound pathetic. In making an observation about one's background and heritage, does not mean that one is also degenerating another culture. By saying that Asians do tend to give a high regard to education means just that and in no way is a comment on another culture's value in education. You words are atrocious and people like you should educate themselvs in other cultures.

Go back to your white trash trailer park.
MALAYA CINDY2 AND ELENA: stop provoking hatred onto Asians.

Why so much hatred towards asians?.
Look around you.Most cars,home appl./decors,

Leave it to BAMZ admirers to have created an old-fashioned "salon", in the meaning of a place where the intelligent, artistic, hip, people of the day would gather to discuss ideas and art! I wanted to join the discussion this morning but the computer keeps crashing and taking my posts with it. I am glad you all have, for the most part, ignored those people who want your attention on them and not on greater things, the desperate people who were so easy to skip over so I could get to the thought-provoking posts of those who just carried on the discussions, and on so many topics! I'm really glad to have found you people, and it shows that when you are of a global mind, like Angie and Brad, you attract people who think globally, and not about themselves. It's a pleasure to read the thoughts of people who are like Angie and Brad -- thinking people, willing to learn from each other and all who they meet, open-minded and not already thinking they have all the answers -- you people on here are not just interesting, you are, more importantly, INTERESTED -- in the world, in ideas, in other people. I'm so glad that you are here, keep up the good posts, and please, just ignore the wackos and we'll read around them.
Sometimes the best educated people are self-educated. If you never stop reading, learning, talking (and LISTENING) with people who know more than you, and then communicating your own thoughts on the subject (which is what we do at a university), then you will never stop being educated. Angelina has the world's respect because she doesn't just show up like Jessica Simpson at a USO event to shake her t&a. She is heavily invested in studying about the issues she is faced with, and is very bright and learned on the subject of refugees and their countries' politics and problems. Whether she learned by speaking with the prime minister and cabinet members, visiting the places herself, talking with the people and those working with them, reading up on the history that brought the people to this point, learning the economics of the situation, or all of the above, she is EDUCATED.
My first and only time I'll post in this thread.
It's a seriously messed up thing to see over 400 posts in a thread, and 3/4 of them framed in some major ugliness.
jpf
To the Asian posters who are justifiably outraged and confused by some of the posts here, understand that most Americans do not feel that way, and even the posters themselves probably don't. They just want to get a reaction so they can feel important for a while. Asians are known to be highly motivated, intelligent people, and BAMZ admirers know your value to the US and the world, so don't worry and just ignore the bigotry meant to get a reaction.
Original JPF, for a great long stretch there, you could just skip the crap and read some really interesting posts among people having discussions on education, Asian history in America, economics, family backgrounds, etc. from Cindy2, African Girl, Stef, and several others. It makes it easier to just skip the nonsense and read the sensible people.
#417, Asians , we laugh at inferiority complexes like you. WE DON'T CARE WHAT PEOPLE LIKE YOU HAVE TO SAY BECAUSE, GUESS WHAT, WE ARE ENJOOOYING LIFE IN "YOUR" COUNTRY. And by the way, it's people like you who enjoy our "cat" meat the most, UH HUH, HUH, HUH, THAS RIGHT! I just laugh at these type of people. It's DULLARD people like them , that keep us STRONGER! So THANK you for that!
# 415 | G.E.D. JOLIE
Angelina graduated HS when she was 16. looks like you got stuck back in 7th and never progressed.
Excuse me everyone!!!! What the crap is going on, we all have the RIGHT to like or dislike AJ/BP without getting so disgusting. I thought this was and is and will be a site to have fun! JA fans go to your sand box!!!! OH, I forgot you don't have one so you have to come over here to dump your crap :-) BAMZ+1 friends let them be and don't even try to rationalize with them its not worth it, they are so pathetic and so few they will eventually evaporate. OK, so BP and AJ are still together (contrary to what they wished happened), having a grand old time with their kids waiting for the new bundle of joy. That won't shut them up cause their hatred is not about them, it is about their success and popularity. This couple will be around for a very long time (I am not saying forever, cause I have seen great relationships end for different reasons). OK I am out of here, as a reminder I never respond to nay sayers or haters so save your hatred words for my great friends on this site that have the patience and loyalty not just to BP/AJ but humanity, equality, education, no racial / religious differences.
Hi ya African girl, cindy2 and all the BAMZ +1
fans.
I love the first paragraph of this story, its hot and sweet at the same time.
Brangelina finds room at the inn
Apr. 8, 2006 12:00 AM
In an act of sexy symmetry, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have returned to the continent that kicked off last year's International Huts-A-Rockin' tour - perhaps to welcome Pitt-Jolie No. 3 into the world far from the prying lenses of the paparazzi.
Jolie, believed to be eight months pregnant, and Pitt are staying at a secluded Namibian beach resort, surrounded by tight security, prompting speculation that their baby will be born in Africa, the Associated Press reports.
Namibian media reported that immigration officials confirmed the arrival of the stars and five other people, including two children, in Walvis Bay early this week on a chartered jet from Paris. A private security firm and local police cordoned off the area and threatened to confiscate cameras, the media reported Friday. advertisement
Pitt and Jolie have rented all 14 rooms and suites at the Burning Shores resort, a luxury boutique hotel on Long Beach, north of Walvis Bay and near the famous dunes of the Namibian desert.
Jolie's children, Maddox and Zahara, recently were legally rechristened Pitt-Jolie, in recognition of Pitt's plans to adopt them.
Chin fans have no thread going, so they must post here under the guise of "concern" for various issues of parenting, education, race, world affairs, philosophy. Guli is right--what they really want is to merely raise their hind legs and go all over BAMZ.
I guess Jared can't mind the blog and pull posts that are just timewasters, but that's democracy in action. In the meantime, I hope JJoy is getting rest after having to study for those awful midterms! I'm glad that Angelina is expanding beyond refugees to education for the kids. In places where shelter and food and medical attention is a priority, education can often be seen as a luxury. I'm glad she's making them see that it's all tied together, but one is short-term, and the other is long-term attack of the causes of the short-term problems. I hope that girls where she is working are able to go to school, too.
angelina jolie is a hoax and a fake. you people's faith in her is misplaced and she will betray you in the end, like she has her numerous lovers over the years.
Yawn.

Typical dumbass response of the bamz crazies.
Thanks for sharing Ashley! It is sweet, isn't it? Wonder if the extra rooms will be filled by parents as wedding guests.... ? 88, what rumours were you hearing about a wedding this weekend?
#449 zzzzzzzzz...sorry, what?

This truth will hurt you:
$1 million to aid Afghan refugees.
$100,000 to Westren Sahara refugees.
$5 million for Cambodia wildlife sanctuary.
$10,000 for Sri Lanka pediatric ward.
$35,000 for Tanzania refugees
$1.5 million to Cambodia environment project.
$4 million to various causes through her St. John endorsment.
$500,000 for girls seeking asylum in the U.S who are scaping the sex-slave trade.
Total: over 12 million.
So, what is your truth?

Yeah. Thanks Ashley.
Is this the place where they were fucking each other so loudly last year that other guests complained, the staff wondered if they were being attacked by wild animals and came into their room?
What a classy couple.
I saw them on E! showed leaving to go to Africa. For all the people worried she never smiles -- she was, and so was Brad. And some people said she never carries Zahara, it's all Maddox for her and Brad is always with Zahara, well she was carrying Zahara and Brad was with Maddox.
#437, #439 See, I'm so bored you made me put the wrong post number. What righteous moral indignation are we discussing now? Betrayal or sex or being a fake or being a hoax or being a jujube or...zzz...
#437 why don't you just go out and support your idol and watch her movie, oh am sorry how stupid of me NO THEATER IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND BEYOND dared show her film!

You actually believe these things? Do you have proof? Have you seen her actually give the money?
You are the victim of a hoax. You will be disappointed in the end. Everyone who's had any dealings with her has. Sorry.

It's ok. We get it. You're a moron. You can't remember anything. That's why you worship actors with no brains.
It's ok. Go back to sleep. Maybe jolie will come and fart in your face in your dreams. But only if you're really, really lucky.
Guli sorry that I post there in Spanish but it was a necesity.
Que Viva La BAMZ+1!

dumbass comment by 'makes you wonder'
'I read on People.com how she & Brad rented a whole resort in Jungle Land somewhere. I wonder
if she throws the natives her leftovers. '
read this and shut ur ugly face. she does more than you'll ever do.
comment by 'makes you wonder is an ASS'

Effen bastards like yourself belittle what she has done and discount the money she has donated just because she doesn't effen live in a hole in the ground. See, this is where Chin fans are so dull. They have no wit, no spark, no intelliegence no capacity to lob it back and forth. They have to resort to "fart in your face". What are you, twelve? Chin fans are so obviously overweight white women who lost their little tanned princess because of Chin's divorce--and they desperately troll BAMZ sites hunting for someone, anyone to rag on. Boring.

she's an actress who makes millions per picture, has an oscar plus countless other awards for her acting, humantarian awards and BRAD PITT ( i'm sure I left many thing out) ! yeah what a loser!
I wish I was part of Brad's PR crew. I heard Anistons main pr dude, Huvane posts on alot of fan boards. damn, doesn't he have anything better to do, like defend Paltrow against the drinking while pregnant rumors? Paltrow is the real star out of the two, right? Aniston also trolls these boards. she has a myspace account too. now that's a the real loser.
# 434

# 473
I think # 472 said everything there is to say about you. My post wasn't even for you anyways.
I don't care whether you stay a fan or not. Get over yourself.
#468, No, I say white women because Chin's demographic is white overweight women; it was in The Wall Street Journal. The Journal had a very detailed analysis of Aniston fans vs. Jolie fans. Aniston fans are W.O.W., or white overweight women. Also, they generally have a much lower education and cognitive skills than the rest of the population. The Journal presumed that this was because the W.O.W. Aniston fans spent too much time watching "Friends" dvds over and over, and that their online typing and spelling skills were ruined by thumb injuries formed by using the remote to pause the dvd on Jennifer Aniston's face. Aniston fans also had very little contact with anyone who was not an Aniston fan, thus they were easily threatened or disturbed by anything out of the ordinary--i.e., minorities, men (all the Aniston fans were single), abstract thought. They also had absolutely no interest in charitable pursuits. So, according to the Wall Street Journal, these fans were an extremely specific and VERY small demographic.
Oh, and the Jolie fans? Pretty much the rest of the world.
# 475
There are more dignified ways of making a living. Have a little pride in yourself. brad is just a little actor.
Angelina's book "Notes Freom My Travels" is an old one. It came out in 2001/2. You can get it at any bookstore. It's a great book but not an easy read. Her description are very graphic and you may have to put the book down a few times before you are ready to continue.
As far as this new rumor about her writing her biography with tips on how to adopt is just that, a rumor. There's no truth to it. And how can you write about you memoirs when you are ony30? I know she has done more living than most of us and expereiced things a lot of people haven't but she's still only 30. A book around 40 or 50 would be better cause in some ways, I feel a new phase of her life is just beginning
# 477
Ha ha ha. That's a good one.
Saying it was in the Wall Street Journal gave you away though. You see, no one gives a crap about any of these people the way you crazy fans do, and certainly not WSJ, lol!
Nice try, sweetie. Be smarter about it next time.
ON TOPIC
It is hard for me to believe that the vision of the next stage of advancement of our civilization
can be achieved without looking at the attitudes and assumptions that currently underlie the approaches to social and economic development. If people continue to argue over the history of our development as separate peoples, as so many of you are here doing, our progression
to the prevention of discrimination and the protection of minorities will not evolve.
Perhaps a strategy of engaging the worlds population may be to assume the responsibility for it's collective destiny, not it's divided past. and a consciousness of the ONEness of humankind. We as a human species, an organic whole , are at the leading edge of the evolutionary process that also operates through an infinite diversity of individual minds (and should in no way detract from it's essential unity).
Perhaps if we can focus more on the the emerging of a collective coming of age...an emerging maturity of the races ( which is what I love and admire of Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt btw) then the principles of unity in diversity will continue to find full expression through justice instead. Justice is the one power that can translate a consciousness of humanity's oneness, into a collective will , because it is the only means by which unity of thought and action can be achieved through all races.
The implications for social and economic development are profound and complex. Concern for justice, as a compass in collective decision making is the only means by which unity of thought and action can be achieved. Our history as a humankind has been saturated with the lack of justice as has been acknowledged by many of you here. It is not exclusive to any one race.
Universal education in an indispensable contribution to this process, but the effort will succeed only as human affairs are recognized so to enable both individuals and groups in every sector of society.
Throughout history, human consciousness has depended on 2 basic knowledge systems. Science and Religion. Through these 2 agencies if you will, the races experience has been organized, it's environment interpreted, it's individual powers
explored and it's moral and intellectual life disciplined.
Religion.... if it continues to be held by sectarian doctrines that teach that poverty is an inherent feature of earthly life and one that can only be escaped by what lies only in the world beyond.... is a religious spirit IMHO should find the SOURCE of inspiration from which it flows. New spiritual concepts and principles relevant to an age that seeks to establish unity and justice in human affairs will and can bring material well being to humanity. These justice's will include as well then the equality between women and men, the equality between people of different races, thus an equality for our children.
This is what I believe anyway is what Brad is referring to as Equality and the changes that must be changed at every level of society and should be central to the success of effort to conceive and implement a strategy of global development.
Education & economic support....... along with a higher consciousness of unity and ONEness will advanced a justice for all.
ONE LOVE. ONE RACE. ONE HUMANKIND. JUSTICE FOR ALL.

Thanks so much. Actually that is exactly where we are at, working with the public school regional counselors and the Board of Ed (NYC). The professionals in this field is just so wonderful and helpful.
Just came back from family obligations. Oh Man. So many meany miny kids have been here today! You'll get more action at femalefirst and perez, guys.
This is a big hello to all the BAMZ+1 fans...The upcoming weeks are going to be wonderful for us...so many great things are happening for us. Brad is already a father but another Pittser is coming into the world, MAMS unrated DVD and we get to see Brad and Angie kissing...Brad and Angie will be coming home and pictures of the baby will be release and a new era of BAMZ+1 have arrive.
The poor delusional Aniston fans...see their idol going downhill fast and they hate her new love_Vince Vaughn. They don't want to see a baby from this union, that why thery're so mad and can't move on...They don't buy Aniston movie tickets but the buy Brad and Angie. No more pictures in the tabloids seeing a beautiful woman with a hansome husband every month. And seeing themselves in her life because the life she has now, her fans don't want. So they come to BAMZ+1 posts and cry everyday like their crybaby idol Jen.... I GIVE A BIG *BOO HOO* to them.
All BAMZ+1 ignore them...and laugh at Aniston fans for the pity party they been doing the last year. VICTIM FANS FOR A VICTIM ANISTON...jj let us pray that they will see the light and become BAMZ+1 because being in hell is nowhere to be....I SALUTE the Aniston FANS with my pity and snickers because what coming next for yo girl is sad.

PR is degrading, superficial and empty.
See? You bamz worshippers like to think you're profound and deep because you think jolie - an actor for chrissakes - is profound and deep.
But she isn't and neither are you.
Underneath all the 'we care about the world' BS you're just the same superficial celeb worshippers like all the other superficial celeb worshippers that worship Lohan, Simpson and Hilton.
You'd all sell your own mothers just to lick the toilet seat brad or jolie just used. Pathetic.
# 484
'Be sane'?
Yeah. You should try that.
I just want to tell the ignorant/ negative animals if they have nothing good to say, shut the fuck up. Angelina and Brad sacrifice themselves for the needy like no other. What else do you want from them. I advice you to leave this web site, this is only for the fans and for the educated loving people, okay?Good luck to the Jolie Pitt family may God be with them and bless them always.
#480 But this is not your daddy's Wall Street Journal. The WSJ of the past was all stock tables and a neanderthal right-wing editorial page. The WSJ of the past year or two has a lifestyle section, movie and leisure demographic analyses, and a neaderthal right-wing editorial page.

Thanks for your note. I have been quite curious why the racists are feeling safe in coming out here attacking Jolie-Pitt. It is quite interesting (of course disgusting) that they are showing themselves in public in this day and age (or maybe I'm naive, I never blogged before Jared, so I don't know too much about hate sites).
IMO Somehow racists feel OK coming out to attack Jolie-Pitt here, since they feel they can cast Jolie-Pitt as 'adulterers'. Thus racists feel they can validate themselves as the 'righteous' ones. That's a rather rare occasion in this day and age, when hate crimes and racially biased crimes are Federal Offence. When Cruise/Kidman adopted child of color, I didn't hear anything (I was never interested in celebrity until BAMZ...so maybe I don't know).
Jolie-Pitt family must be the worst scenario coming true for racists. They can trash their acting/looks whatever, but they cannot deny that Jolie-Pitt are money makers in Hollywood, which means they have power in the industry.
So, Jolie and Pitt, both dubbed "sexiest man and woman alive"; one of the most 'beautiful' WHITE powerful celebrity couple of our day, are adopting Asians and Africans, the children of color. This is a picture of two most beautiful white, rich, powerful people creating their own family into a global village in a futuristic manner.
As disgusting as it is, racists are showing themselves here. We know what they are, what they think. Then we know what to do.
Good to bring GOD on this because He was the one who said that "If you are free of sin, throw the first stone". Did he saved Magdalen from ppl like you or what? Doesn't he wants us to help, care and love? If you have nothing good to say or give to others go to bed.
Que Viva La BAMZ+1!
SHUT THE F#CK UP: All you whiney, pathetic, bitter, retarded losers. Why the hell do you come here to bitch and moan!?! Nobody here is privvy to AJ's private life. You think you’ve made some big point by dredging up rumors and biased crap against her? Why are you so damn lame that you spend your time trying to slander someone who no matter how you look at it is—and always will be—better than you. Because you’re the f#cking losers spending your time bitching about someone who you supposedly don’t like! Who puts so much energy into talking shit, on a blog no less!?! You think she’s such crap, and that you have her pegged, well then you should take diluted asses and your self serving bullshit elsewhere. No one cares that you have some fanatical resentment against her for your own delusional reasons. So SHUT THE F#CK UP
Africans love having this family around. Their presence helps a slow economy. They've also been able to have more peace in Africa. Blame your taboids for all the negative postings. Those who are angry should demand that the tabloid owners do more for the less fortunate from the filthy money they make out of false publications that they've made to give some people very wrong impressions about others. The world is bigger than the tiny worlds of all the people here with negative comments. Do something to help others may be you will feel better and you might want to send money to send someone to school like she said.
White people are not hating on Brangelina because they adopted an Asian child and a Black child. That's a beautiful thing to do, no matter what the nationality of the child or what you do for a living. They’re hating on them because of their perceived lack of morals and integrity, and their conduct. Ignore the racists comments, and please stop making them. And please stop hating Aniston because she is white. Aniston isn’t racist just as Jolie and Pitt aren’t racist.
Africa, I totally agree with you, but this haters man, you can not meke them change their minds, because they don't want to. They need that feeling to make them go. It's a shame but true. Thank God there are ppl like Angelina and Brad that bring some reality by doing something to change this situation.
To all BAMZ+1 fans, have a good one.
Que Viva La BAMZ+1!
WTF is going on in this blog? I feel like doing a Rodney King and asking, "Can't we all just get along?"
I logged on and saw nearly 500 posts in this blog and thought maybe I'd missed something good. Instead all I missed was some asshole writing letters to his/herself and a discussion on which "minority" group places the most importance on education. Who GAFF as long as people are being educated? The sad part about getting an education is that apparently it doesn't give us any more ability to not see color when we look at people as uneducated rednecks have. And frankly I find that rather scary.

Namibians Say Give Pitt, Jolie Privacy
Saturday April 8 2:11 PM ET
Some Namibians say they hope Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will be allowed some privacy during their stay in the southwest African country.
The stars' private security detail kept journalists at a distance, and one government official warned Saturday that any foreign paparazzi found working without official approval would be kicked out of the country.
Immigration officials confirmed that the couple and five other people, including two children, arrived in Walvis Bay on Monday morning on a chartered jet from Paris, prompting speculation their baby will be born in Africa.
Mark Bongers, an advertising executive, said he expected their visit to be good for business.
"It puts Namibia in the spotlight as a tourist destination, but people mustn't go too crazy about it," he said. "I would imagine that they would like a bit of privacy, and I think if people here screw it up for them, then maybe they won't come back."
Media reports have said that the couple has rented all 14 rooms and suites at the Burning Shores resort, a luxury boutique hotel near the famous dunes of the Namibian desert.
A receptionist reached by telephone at The Burning Shore denied that the couple was there, saying the hotel heard they had gone to Cape Town, South Africa.
Pitt's publicist said Jan. 11 that Jolie is pregnant with Pitt's child. It was unclear when the baby was due.
Jolie has traveled to Africa frequently to shoot films and as a U.N. goodwill ambassador. She spent several weeks in Namibia in 2002 while shooting the film "Beyond Borders."
Jolie has called the continent one of hope and possibility, and adopted a daughter, Zahara, from Ethiopia last year. She also has a son, Cambodian-born Maddox, adopted in 2002.

I was LMAO regarding your "MORAL" issues.
You think Jennifer Aniston is perfect? You need to wake up and open your eyes wide, because let me tell you...Jennifer A is not as "goody two shoes" as you want her to be. She was having her FUN TIME with Vince even before the divorce was final. So what does that make her ha? I really don't care what she does, but I thought you should know that her and Vince had their own share of HOTEL ROOM ROMPIN.
If you must know...it happened at Chicago Peninsula Hotel so there. She's not as CLASSY as people think she is.
BRANGELINA
Everybody knows she's a beauty,
Everybody knows you’re a stud
She’s got the lips of a goddess,
You’ve got the perfect butt
Well I’m not even gay but you looked so great,
In Thelma and Louise
And even if you take a lot of blame
You chose a woman with a pretty name
Oh Brad! You coulda met a girl named Tina
But Bina doesn’t sound as nice as Brangelina
Goodwill Ambassador actress
Goodwill Ambassador stud
You got the nation’s attention
Without spillin’ yer blood
I like to see your fans by the magazine stands
Investing in your fame
They see your names combined in the grocery line

Oh Brad! You coulda met a girl named Tina
But Bina doesn’t sound as nice as Brangelina
But Bina doesn’t sound as nice
The coffee shops of America
The gossip rags at the store
Maury Povich and Connie Chung
Gotta tell us more!

Crazy, closed minded freaks, living in a web blog were only they exist and were they are always right.
OK i was the one that posted this song on this site a few days ago. Here is the link and if you wish to make it your ring tone on your cell to piss off the nay sayers :-)
You have to scroll to the next item to get the link and the song. OK, it is late goodnight everyone. :-)

wow a lot has happened here...what is up with all the education/racist comments. Ah i dont want to write my thoughts here, cuz in a way it'll be pointless cuz theyll (haters or whatnot) will keep repeating what has been written..whateva.

can't believe this "GED" person is talking such rubbish. You don't have to have a high class education to help the indigent ones, if that's how you look at it then my god this world would be more corrupt. I hope you reflect back to what you wrote and picture yourself in their situation.
---i concur...ok hopefully all these hatred thing is going to fade soon.

So, according to the Wall Street Journal, these fans were an extremely specific and VERY small demographic.
Oh, and the Jolie fans? Pretty much the rest of the world.

Will you marry me? I love your post. You made my day. Thanks. Passe une tres bonne nuit.
# 495 Be sane
Most of these haters and racists whether religious or moral are people who seem to be imprisoned within their own "inner mental slavery". I also believe it is why as a civilization our progress is very slow. Perhaps they come here swinging in a blog because they can't do it in public, and much of their repressed anger and ignorance is safe here behind a computer. No one can shoot them , punch them between their" lips" or arrest them as would be the case if they were out in real life.
I think most are teenagers or cowards who come to a blog trying to incite fights for lack of anything else interesting in their lives.
They think by posting their unfortunate bias's and profanity, they are "superior". Most of us know this is a shield of unvalidated arrogance and a show of debauchery that hides insecure and shattered spirits on varying levels. Learned behavior as well. It's a "self talk" that goes on inside their heads which they don't know how to detach from because it is a learned behavior. I can bet they are talked to in this way too by their family members and peers. Just sad. This is why as a progressive society of unified peoples we have to continue the walk of education and the quest to uplift consciousness.
It doesn't bother me as much as itonce did, as does others anymore. I have never been on a blog before either. I just relate to many aspects of this couple. It is annoying these people, but it's easy to scrowl on pass them and get to the people who bring interesting debates and discuss the many many issues the BP & AJ union strike up for others.
The Jolie-Pitt's are an extemely popular entity right now for many reasons including all the ones you state. Their union challenges so many issues that we either relate to personally, have intrests in or simply find fascinating. Like any progressive mind that , pioneersthrough a change of consciousness they will bring the negative with the positive. Most great people have been crucified, shot, imprisoned and slandered for the same attempt to uplift consciousness and change. They won't be any different.

You are pathetic and tragic. Please go to Chinblog.com or femalfirst.com.
Good for Brangelina for helping people, but I’m not going to praise them to high heaven for it. They aren’t doing anything that others haven’t done.
If I had $200 M, I'd gladly give 50% of it to world poverty, and I'd still have $100 M for myself.
But I wouldn't boast about how much I gave. It would make me sound selfish rather than selfless, wanting praise and recognition for my gifts.
I'd make my charitable gifts anonymously. That is truly selfless giving.
# 524 | ? |
"I'd make my charitable gifts anonymously. That is truly selfless giving."
And I am assuming you have, good for you.
Jolie is not giving just for the sake of giving, but also to inspire others to do the same. You are not a mega-movie star whose name is known to millions. People know her name and fans could follow suit. After Jolie's baby Zahara adoption, Ethiopian adoptions in the US soared.

Hey is that for real? Most of chin's fans are overweight white women? No freaking wondering those guys on female first forum are freaking insane. Illiterate, tacky and downright vulgar. They probably can't move anywhere except to their computer and they sit on it all day spread hate, nad filth.
Can you fans help me in trying to bury female first forum? It's downright vulgar over there. Like email the administrators and close the forum down.
# 536 | 88 |
Re: Femalefirst email the administrators and close the forum down."
I totaly agree. Femalefirst is really ugly, resembles a lot to the earlier posts on this thread, but many more bigots, racists and haters. It truly is disgusting, and I think it is quite dangerous.
But isn't it a UK owned site? Anyway usually the site owners make money from advertisers, don't they? So if "Angelina Jolie Brad Pitt section" attracts so many hits, I doubt they would pull it down.
I don't know if this would work, but maybe if we send a letter to Femalefirst's advertisers showing the racists comments on that site, letting them know what they are funding, and threaten them to boycott their products etc. that might mean something as no company wants to be associated with bigots and racists. And/or send the letter to a UK government's racism watch-dog unit etc. with hate comments, CC to these companies etc.? If enough people do that, that is.
And if enough advertisers threaten Femalefirst to pull their money, the site owner might have to act. A long shot. But as we know, money always talks.
Anyway I saw two companies that advertise there:

I think Angie looks gorgeous (as usual!) in the photo and really happy, enjoying herself with a game of soccer with the always pleasant locals.
I'm British but grew-up in abject poverty in a shack not dissimilar to those in the background. Had a really mentally fucked-up African mother (whom I supported until she eventually died of cancer) and English doctor father who died when I was young.
Through hard work, I educated myself and made it out of that sort of poverty. Now I'm an accountant who earns enough to pay the rent/bills in England.
As a matter of interest to 'Tomb Raider' fans:
There is a very powerful (we're talking the most powerful of the powerful) sea current just off the Namibian Coast, called the Benguela Current. Once a ship/boat is caught in it, not much chance of escape and they get smashed against the coral reef just off-shore, hence the name 'the Skeleton Coast' because of ship-wrecked sailors bodies, who perish from thirst within sight of one of the largest bodies of water on Earth (Atlantic Ocean, salt water, undrinkable).
Apparently, you can literally pick-up tons of real diamonds on the beach, if you manage to land on the coast safely and then get out alive although there's not much chance of that because of what it is (the Skeleton Coast) and also the fact that the (mostly South African) diamond mining companies plant pressure-sensitive mats and it is rumoured (instead of passing the fresh water canteen), shoot on sight. Not many survivors to tell (the secret) story!
Namibia is a former German colony. Do you think Bruce Willis has anything to do with Angelina Jolie going there? He was born in Germany! And Brad seems to really like those German architects of his!
hey Life can be good,
nice to meet ya.
i too live in the UK, i have african ties, my dad is british but spent most of his life over there until he met my mum. so we stillgo over to see family.
in answer to your question on why she is possibly there, when filming "Beyond Borders" in 2003 she visited there for on location and has been a fan of the area since. she also collected her first adopted son form here, it was the pass over point. the locals helped to teach Angie how to care for a baby. as she had not experienced it before.
i liked your story/info on the reef. quite interesting! im sure i speak for others when i say thank you for sharing with us.
#552 #553 agree. I think that anyone who is not a BAMZ fan should not be allowed here at ALL! Or at least be denied posting privilages. None of us care to read anything but what BAMZ fans have to say anyway. We don't want your comments or opinions if they differ from ours! Stay out!

I think Friends With Money is opening only in NYC and LA, so Chicago has to wait until DVD. Which will be, very soon. I do hear it's a good movie and I love McDormand, but NO WAY I will pay $10. I will wait until it comes to cable.

Thanks for the info on the "Skelton Beach"! Wow. I remember papps took boats on Malibu coast near Pitt's house and snapped away. He apparently found a spot too dangerous for papps :) The family can be free to roam on the beach and relax. Jeez they are practically fortified. Excellent job Brad for protecting his family!
rudedog,
sound like your having a good time. nothing quite like france for getting wasted! ah the many summer memories i have of just doing that. south of france is beautiful too!
well hey i hope the job interview goes well, let us know how it goes anyway.
take care and lots of H2O!!
Unfortunately for the other actresses this movie will go down as another Aniston bomb. Sometimes smaller movies open on just a few screens in hopes of building good word of mouth, and then they open them wide a few weeks later. But they've tried this with almost all of JA's movies (except maybe Bruce Almighty) and they never take off. Too bad because this movie actually got some good reviews.
yeah but everybody knows that jim carey is a god at what he does! thats why it was huge.
saying that i was not too impressed with his latest, dick and jane.
Good Morning,
Yesterday was a particularly nasty day. I know I shouldn't allow things like that to affect me but it did. I guess it just never ceases to amaze me at the calibre of people still out there.....in this day and age! What happened to tolorance? What happened to empathy? All these thrown out the window all people want to make a point? I don't mean to sound all preachy.....maybe I do (it is sunday afterall)
Off that, I am liking this new flag thingy....just hope it isn't misused. Hopefully it would be at Jared's discretion.
I just want to say to be people that want to curse others, be very careful. Where I came from, a lot of emphasis is placed on the power of the tongue. Call it superstition or mumbo jumbo but please don't be too surprised if all the the evil things you have proclaimed on people, especially children, begins to manifest on you and yours. Why children? Children are thought to be the innocents of all innocents, they haven't done anything to offend anyone and when curses are sent their way, the goodness in them protects them. Just be careful.
Now as some people say, I am getting off my soapbox (lol. Don't know what it means but I am guessing it's got something to do with personal, off topic rantings. American Idioms are still something I am working on)
Have a lovely day all.
# 563 | stef
will do...my net access lacks alot to be deisred..lol I'm actually using one of our office work stations now... It's great to work for an airline..lots of perks all over the world...
I'm in Chicago and Friends/Money opened Friday on 3 screens, one downtown and 2 near North side theaters that show art house movies. They'll probably farm it out to the suburban multiplexes later. Today's Chicago Tribune had a story with Nicole Holofcener, Keener and Cusack, and even though it was quite lengthy they mentioned JA only once in passing re: the reporters at Sundance. That was it.
yeah i bet! im at work and my conection is slower than at home, crazy eh!
oh well only 20 mins then i can go home!
rudedog de Paris!
Best of luck to you for your interview tomorrow. Either way you get to travel, that's great!
Hey if you like to drive, and if you are in for these things there is a WONDEFUL place I want to recommend. It's called Chateau Esclimont (you don't pronounce 's'). I think their restaurant got two Michelin stars and it takes about 6 hours to eat :) It's near Rambouillet, south of Paris and was a former residence of La Rochefoucauld.
If you want to pamper yourself after your interview, it's totally worth at least one night stay. But maybe this is a 'chick' thing ;) It says on the ceiling of one of the dining hall, "C'est mon plaisir :) Check out:
http://www.grandesetapes.com/chateau_esclimont/uk/indexhome.php
I just noticed something. In the #511 posted article there is a statement which saying "A receptionist reached by telephone at the Burning Shore denied that the couple was there, saying the hotel heard they had gone to Cape Town,South Africa"
So are they in Namibia or Cape Town? I'm a little comfused. Can somebody tell? Thanks.

So how does this flag thing work? We click on it and wait? Or is it by a majority?
hey african girl, i tried to flag it nothing happened. so i when to contact and reported it as abuse of site, which i think was right, but when people can change there names i dont know how he can stop it.
but im sure that jj will sort something.
I believe the flag function is to bookmark your place to keep track of what you have read and have not. So that if you get on and off, it will take you to the comment you flag.
I wonder about flagging comments. Believe me, I want to wipe out some of them--but then I worry about censorship because this is the wild and wooly internet. I think if you don't like something, move on. But we are all here on jj's good graces, so it's up to him.
I scrolled back and saw a couple of deleted comments in the middle of the night from "anons" so I wonder if the flagging brings them to the attention of a moderator, and then they are deleted. Or not. I just hope people aren't flagging like crazy because they don't like comments.
oh thats whatit is, ok cool.
what is with the long ones tho, they make the page take forever to load up. maybe thats the plan, to make it impossible for us to log on by over loading, cos if you notice they have put it on everyone of our post rooms. kinda like a virus that we can see, oh if that is the case how rude!
Bookmark? Ah well, I guess you can't win it all but still good, It does get tiring having to scroll down after each post.

I may get killed for this, but it's nice not to see any pix lately. You know I hate to say this, but so far Rottentomatoes has more positive than negative reviews for Friends With Money and lists the movie as "fresh". They only have 41 reviews right now and as the movie goes into wider release (if it ever does), then the rating may change. Color me shocked. A few people have even given JA a good review (almost most of the praise seems to be for Catherine Keener).
Maybe if she has a flick that doesn't totally tank she'll STFU about her divorce! I doubt it, but hell, anything possible!

According to Box Office Mojo, Friends/Money made $600,000 on 28 screens, which is very good--$22,000 per screen. But the problem is that most people who really want to see this movie will see it in the first weeks and then that's it. Can't see it having a long shelf life when it is heading into the spring-early summer movie season. Also, no men will want to see this movie; they'll be dragged by their wives or girlfriends.
# 579 | stef
These 2 posts - #576 & #577 - are on ALL of the BAMZ blogs. It beats me why this person has felt the need to post it multiple times on each blog. It takes forever to load these things now anyway and then this jerk posts a 10,000 word message!
Rudedog....
Not a hit with the french women? Are you kiddding me? Who is this woman by the way? She obviously has no idead who you are? Tell her about your french friends here, tell her she'd better start treating you right or we'll be over there before she knows what hit her.
About the flagging, I don't think it is censorship if the comment been flagged are idiotic posts like #576 and #577. That is just unnecesary.
Hey ZF, how are you doing? Hmmmm, may be I too could go as AG? Montreal eh? So that's where the french come from. Kindred spirits hun?
Jennifer is not a bad actress as much as she is a very limited actress. She is of the caliber to carry a movie . i.e. Julia , Nicole or Reese. However she could make it as a supporting actress. I saw Friends with money and it is good. I have no desire to see it again, but it was good for a one time entertainment. Jennifer is definitely the weakest link in the ensemble. If I had been her, I would started with made for tv movies to get a bearing for where she fits.. I will reserve judment until the time that Jennifer is no longer more famous for who she married to, or her hair or her perky nipples. When she shows us if she has talent that can stand on its own or not. So far, she has gotten to where she is not because of talent but because of good management decision by the ensemble cast of Friends, her hair, her perky nipples and the most mileage has been by association to Mr. Pitt. Is she good enough without all that ? Time will tell.
