Pitts Make Namibia Popular
Namibia has become the subject of huge interest in the US since the arrival of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, according to the country's US ambassador. "The Namibian embassy in Washington DC has been inundated with calls from the US media and individuals," said Hopelong Ipinge. The film star couple arrived in the south African country in early April with Jolie's two adopted children. Jolie, who is eight months pregnant, is expected to give birth there. It will be an honour for Namibia to become the birthplace of her child," Ms. Ipinge said. She added that some American TV stations has asked for Namibian tourism marketing videos after requests from viewers.Namibia, Africa :: Above is Brad Pitt, 42, and Angelina Jolie, 30, leaving an African jewelry shop and loading into their Range Rover earlier this week. Vintage Brad Pitt, anyone? Brad Pitt made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno back on November 21, 2001. Brad starred in a series of skits to promote Spy Game and in this particular sketch, he tried to get people to watch his film. One old man refuses to watch the film and Brad asks if there's anything he could do to change his mind. It then cuts to the two of them in bed and a naked / shirtless Brad asks, "Now are you going to watch the film?", the old man replies, "maybe."

Why would anyone feel sorry for Aniston? She's rich and has her own man. She could probably do really well on another TV show. why are people still acting like this is some sort of cmpetition? GET OVER IT!
I felt bad for Angelina having to be bashed for the past year or so just because she's With Brad. I kinda didn't like Brad in the beginning because of all the crap Angelina was being blamed for.
# 25 | 92122girl -I agree with you. This morning I saw George Clooney and his father, Nick on the Today show. They were talking about Dafur and the situation in Sudan. GC did mentioned several times that he heard about this situation but did not do anything until now, he said that he was late in the game.... but he feel it's not too late for everyone to stop this Genocide process...I can not help but wondering if AJ has any influent on GC suddend interest in Dafur plight....
Jared, I agree with the person who said it taikes to long to load a comment. i hate that you have to put an email address in (for which I end up putting anything in), then my username always used to pop up, but now with the new design (I think) i have to enter it every time. Added to that, you have to wait for the page to load to see your posts (and any new ones in the meantime) you have are directed to the top of the page! With the BAMZ+1 posts being on average 400 posts per thread, it takes a bit of annoying scrolling to get to the bottom. Perhaps you shoudl make the most recent post go to the top...? Still love your website Jared---it's the best, nonetheless.
Ciao for now
Bring on more BAMZ+1 please! :)
oooooooooh! Brad looks so adorable with the other man! ha ha
That is one funny skit.. the look on his face is priceless
hey guys these pictures are really funny! LMAO! you all good today?
#24 She has everything that money can buy EXCEPT love, happiness, family and a VERY successful movie career, everything that Brad has with Angie.
ROCK ON BAMZ +1!!!!
# 23 | guli
Guli, I posted the same info yesterday on a couple of threads. I guess with all the different threads up nobody's really thought too much about the possibility of them making another movie together. If they do decide to do it, it has the potential of being a real career breaker. How the heck can anyone contemplate taking an 1100 page novel like "Atlas Shrugged" and condensing it into ONE movie is beyond me. The article mentions that at one point there was talk of making it 2 movies, but the current plan is for a single flick. It would have to be a 3 - 3 1/2 hour epic. I think it was Variety that said if they took the project on it could be their "Cleopatra". A bomb at the theater and not all that well received critically either. It was certainly a big career downer for it's stars, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

Hi Guli, I also hope that JA finds all the happiness. But think, no great big movie career, no babies, no Brad Pitt, and I don't know about VV if he is serious or not...and also the media doesn't seem to be as interested in her as much as the BAMZ family. AT least she has made a lot of money in her acting career so far. She is worth 80 million dollars I read. I just can't help it but feel sad for her.
Also, totally off subject we're flying to Turkey on June 21st with Lufthansa. Unfortunatelt I won't have access to JJ so I will have to get my BAMZ news from Turkish TV and newspapers..
Rating: FRESH (3/4)
“Friends With Money” is a movie that should be on Prozac, Zoloft or Paxil.
I mean that in a good way.
After a dinner with her titular friends, Olivia (Jennifer Aniston) tells her new boyfriend, “I’m sorry that they’re such a depressed group of people.” “That’s OK,” he replies, “In a way I felt comfortable around them.”
So does the audience. Writer-director Nicole Holofcener (“Lovely and Amazing”) observes her characters’ neuroses in a manner that is sharp but not judgmental. Holofcener doesn’t believe these people are any more messed up than she is, or than we are.
The performances are EXCELLENT, which has become as much a hallmark of Holofcener’s films as her wry dialogue. Where other filmmakers cynically enjoy cursing their characters with fractured hearts and minds, Holofcener looks at similar emotional wounds and sees bruises that can be healed with time and compassion.
I think I've seen that clip before and yeah, watched the movie too but on cable not the theater. Don't like Robert Redford much so won't spend money on him. It was funny, that clip.
Of course Namibia could only benefit from the couple's stay there. They couldn't have raised their budget to pay for that kind of publicity and here they're getting it for free. It is also a big morale booster for the people there that their country has now become a point of interest not only for tourism purposes but as a recipient of humanitarian works.
Too bad that the press is not making much profit out of it. However, maybe if they sent in requests for the family to at least be photographed once in a while when they are out and about, perhaps they could make an arrangement. They could donate some of their profits to Angelina's education program right there in Namibia.

Estelle, I asked the same question yesterday over on the Jolie Today Show thread and several of the regulars told me that GC has been active in this kind of charity work for quite a while. So apparently he wasn't really up on the Darfur situation, but he has done other work in/for Africa. They said he's part of Bono's One campaign as well and that it pre-dates Brad's dating Angelina.
I would love to go to Namibia, espeacially now, that our fav. couple is there.
hey someone signed on as me in angies post on the today show. comment 74 was not me! just wanted to let you know!
talk about violation!
hey i know im cool, and that they wanna be me but there is only room for originality in here, not copy cats!
i gotta laugh tho!
27 - Lynn Campbell - Thanks for the link... it's Grrrrrreat.. lol
BAMZ FANS - I know some of use are having a time waiting for our post to load, here is what has been working for me. after you click post, immediately click refresh, and it goes right directly through. I know its different, but it works a whole lot faster.
# 41 | Passing Through -Oh I know, but he was not a hand on go to the field research....to me GC was just lending his voice, donate money, reading brochure....I was wondering why now.... Sudan and Dafur?...same time with AJ's plead US/Worlds help letter on USA today....(wishful thinking)..may be a phone call from GC to AJ...she would tell him "George, you have to go and see for yourself...", he did mentioned that he was late into the game....now he wants to help, its' a good thing, but I still can't help thinking that AJ nudge him a little...
# 43 | stef -Good Morning Lady Stef, LCA...we know it was not you...your signature is very well known and since you are our guard and knight...and in the process to be queen...very hard for anyone to impersonate you my dear.
I saw the movie Spy games and It was like Robert Redford passing the torch to his protege Brad. I never saw that skit of Brad since I always watch David Letterman's show when I get the chance.Anyway, I will always support Brad and Angelina's movies and in my own little way their causes.
George called Brad on the 9/11 issue and Brad called George on the African issues. They've been working together.
BRAD LOOKS HOT!!
# 38 | Tish | Hey Tish, I am leaving on the 12th of June and I have internet access. If you wish I'll give you my cell number in Turkey before I leave and can give you daily updates from JJ :)
Alos, in Bodrum practically every street has an internet cafe, you walk in for very little cost you can login for an hour, just a suggestion.
BTW- re:JA, I think this makes most us BAMZ fans different than the haters. We love this family dearly, but it doesn't stop us for having a some sympathy for the others...
I just watched the Jay Leno clip and the tears are still rolling down my face. Brad is too funny for words.
Thanks Guli! I'll keep that in mind.
estelle...
yes im good thank you, very tired i didnt get in til 3:45 and had to get up at 7:15! very hard day, almost fell asleep many times! all worth it tho.

Okay...see, that's what I was wondering yesterday, but I guess with the way I phrased my question that aspect didn't get addressed. I really can't stand Clooney, so I had no idea that he was active in this kind of humanitarian work at all. So PHIL ANTHROPist answered that part of my question, but no one ever said if he'd gone into the field before. IIRC technically all Clooney and the 'rent did was go hang out for a week and see the strife first-hand. They didn't pitch in and do any actual work, did they?
medulla... thanks so much... if you email me on: haveitonaplate@yahoo.co.uk
ill tell you my address! you really are a true star!

That was my thought on Spy Game, too. BP has always come off like Redford to me and if you watch "Spy Game" it's very obvious. It was like Redford was looking in a mirror and seeing himself 20-25 years earlier. It's a good movie, too, so anyone who hasn't seen it may want to add it to their list of BP movies to catch up on.
That skit was absolutely hilarious!
Brad definitley has a nitch for comedy. I always did think that 'The Mexican' was one of his best.
As for 'Friends with money' I have heard that the movie was written very well and that the acting was pretty decent but Aniston did not give the strongest performance in the cast. That honor goes to Ms. Keener. But still the movie has only manage to rake in 5.3 million dollars and its been out how long now? What? Two weeks. That doesn't bode well for Ms. Aniston whom they gave top billing to. While I am not a fan, I don't hate her. I actually wish her well, but I can only wonder what she will blame the failure of this movie at the box office on, or should I say who?
As to 'Atlas Shrugged' I figure it can't be worst than any of the other epics:
Alexander
Troy
Kingdom of Heaven
Dances with Wolves
The Merchant of Venice
Braveheart
Titanic
English Patient
Dune
Amistad
JFK
Saving Private Ryan
and that's just a small few. Some made money while others didn't but eh...who really cares? The actors are paid and those who enjoy epics go see them.
