Pitts Make Namibia Popular

Namibia has become the subject of huge interest in the US since the arrival of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, according to the country's US ambassador. "The Namibian embassy in Washington DC has been inundated with calls from the US media and individuals," said Hopelong Ipinge. The film star couple arrived in the south African country in early April with Jolie's two adopted children. Jolie, who is eight months pregnant, is expected to give birth there. It will be an honour for Namibia to become the birthplace of her child," Ms. Ipinge said. She added that some American TV stations has asked for Namibian tourism marketing videos after requests from viewers.

Vintage Brad Pitt, anyone?  Brad Pitt made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno back on November 21, 2001. Brad starred in a series of skits to promote Spy Game and in this particular sketch, he tried to get people to watch his film. One old man refuses to watch the film and Brad asks if there's anything he could do to change his mind.  It then cuts to the two of them in bed and a naked / shirtless Brad asks, "Now are you going to watch the film?", the old man replies, "maybe."

Boston is a good place to live but I thinking of expanding my horizons and moving. Where to? Not sure yet but maybe somewhere warm all year long. To answer your question: The Big Dig is done - I think. LOL I'll have to check that and get back to you. Hopefully some Namibians will start posting on JJ. ;)

either that or he would fly the doctor out to them, that would create less media attention and he wouldnt have to leave his very pregnant partner and supposedly sick child, as it would be at least a 36hour turn around, considering it takes 12 hours to south africa from the UK i expect its more to US.

I'm curious, why is AJ's assistant always with her? I heard AJ was in her wedding; so if she still married; where is her husband? Couldn't she reach Holly via e-mail/phone to coordinate her schedule/meetings, etc? I guess it just seemed strange that she was in the middle of the family pictures.

Brad himself said that Namibia is the place they want to be for the the time being.I don't believe that fucking crap.Angelina her self said that she don't know were they will be when the baby is to be born. DON'T BELIEVE THAT CRAP GYS!! brad is still in namibia and Zahara is not ill.Tabloid crad had been proved rong again and again the same think will happen here. You'll see.

# 91 | stef -thanks for all the link, I think they are fine, AJ did said that they are prepare for anything...I am sure the tabloid need something to sell the magz...

A member at Bradforums said that Holly's husband also works for the Jolie-Pitts. So my guess is that he is also with them in Namibia. Again this is only a guess.

rock on BAMZ+1 love ya.

I highly recommend getting the Type Key feature. once you do, you don't have to sign in to JJ anymore, just click sign in and the Type Key does it for you.

Need Moi Jade here, isn't ricketts a disease of malnutrition? why would where she is have anything to do about it coming back? Am I totally off base here? It also seems bizarre to me that Brad would fly to LA to consult a doctor. He's never done anything that bizarre before! It certainly isn't on my yahoo page - they still have Jolie-Pitt good for tourism in Namibia.

Stef- thanks, I think this is the best way to support our beloved family. It really doesn't have to be monetary, volunteer work, educating the others etc...

Sweet dreams!!!

Hollywood is an unpredictable business. Who is hot today may just be the next has-been tomorrow. Fortunately for Brad, he has managed thru the years to stay on top of the A-list and maneuver his career the way he wants it to be. Last year was another proof of how he survived the tabloids and along with Angie made Mr. and Mrs.Smith one of the top grossing films, almost a half billion dollars worldwide notwithstanding the DVD and rentals for the movie. Hollywood analysts did not even forsee that success and how a year later, Brad and Angelina are more popular than ever. They are the real deal, so in love and raising wonderful children. They are wisely using their star power to draw attention on their humanitarian causes. Because of them, they made doing charity cool and some stars are following in their footsteps. Hopefully, this celebrities are doing it sincerely. I think that George Clooney has the right intentions to help promote awareness on the genocide in Darfur and he said that the worst thing we can do is not to do anything!

A preview of the "Jesse James" movie is gonna be shown on E! News today so if you guys want to watch, it on at 6 central time.

Anyways, to regular BAMZ+ 1 fans, newcomers, and lurkers- keep up the support and the great posts. Thank god i found this site. I was so sick of the stupid comments on other blog. At least here people seem to have mature discussions...............well ... for the most part. LoL
Cough*trolls*cough =)

Everybody thought they were in Namibia for the birth of their baby, but it's obvious she was there for the education project . She already filmed a documentary and gave Ann curry an interview ... these things STAR mag couldn't tell us because they don't have any Angelina & Brad insiders.

I don't think she's going to have the baby in Africa!

Yes, that is Jennifer Aniston tarted up as a sexual fantasy: the ooh-la-la French maid clutching a phallic vacuum hose so her boyfriend can get off when she bends over. No, Friends With Money is not that kind of movie. Far from it. The keenly observant writer and director Nicole Holofcener isn't about to settle for giving jocks their jollies. She's interested in the shifting dynamics among real women. Listen up, guys, you might learn something. ……
In Holofcener's 1996 debut feature, Walking and Talking, the threat to female closeness is impending marriage. In 2002's Lovely and Amazing, the issue among sisters is body image. And now, in Friends With Money, the obstacle comes in the form of wealth. Olivia (Aniston), Franny (Joan Cusack), Jane (Frances McDormand) and Christine (Catherine Keener) have been friends since forever. Now Olivia is feeling isolated. It's not just that she's single and her three pals are married (that she can deal with) -- it's that she's cleaning houses for sixty-five dollars a scrub, and her friends are filthy stinking rich. ……
It turns out money is a hell of a subject for a movie, especially one rendered with decidedly un-Hollywood nuance and intimacy. Smart, witty and alert to the buried resentments that poke through the shiny surface of affluence, Holofcener's film recognizes that money is the new sex. Buying your kid the right kind of shoes, the expensive kind, is better than an orgasm. The main characters, all living large in Los Angeles, are a bit ashamed of how much they've got. Rub it in people's faces and they'll think you're a whore. ……..
IT’S A KICK TO SEE ANISTON CUT LOOSE and break her big-screen losing streak (Rumor Has It, Derailed, Along Came Polly). As Olivia, she gets to show off her gift for giving a character shades of light and dark, recalling how strong she was in The Good Girl and The Object of My Affection. Aniston has a friend indeed in Holofcener, who lets her mix it up with a seasoned ensemble cast. Except for McBurney, the men don't have much to chew on. But the film is a field day for actresses. And their teamwork is a thing of beauty. When the film premiered at Sundance in January, nit-pickers wanted more narrative drive and clear-cut motivations. Know what? For lots of back story and no loose ends, watch TV. For a movie rich in hilarity, heartbreak and a sense of life in all its

Hat tip today for both George Clooney & Prince Harry for raising awareness about Africa. (A very heart-warming photo of the young prince and 6-year-old Mutsu Potsane accompanied the following mention of a charity he's been involved with since 2004:

Prince Harry is tickled by a reunion with 6-year-old Mutsu Potsane during a visit to the African kingdom of Lesotho. The royal – who first met Mutsu in 2004 during a two-month mission there – returned to launch his new AIDS charity Sentebale (which means 'Forget me not' in the region's Sesotho language) in memory of his mother Princess Diana

Holly (Angie assistant and friend) is not always with Angie. She was not with Angie in Canada when Brad was fiming (AOJJ) nor was she with Angie the first month when they went to Berlin and Paris. Of course this is all based on pics. I think Angie and Brad have had a working vacation. Thus when it was time for Angie to get back to work ie in Paris the photoshoot and in Namibia for the interview with Today show and the documentary, Holly came back into the picture.

Does anyone know why AJ fired CAA after 15 months? is BPstill CAA client?...and JA?...so now AJ back to no publicist, no agent status?

#108 What documentary are you talking about?

AJ is already a big star even before signing with CAA. She's her own PR and has done a great job in a career that seem to be dependent on media exposure. We all know that she is a very independent woman. Brad is a smart guy who did well in his h'wood career. There is no doubt both will defy all critics.Their future as a family will have a solid foundation. Career for both will reach new heights.Hope ffor more OSCARS.

Always love the couple. Wish them all the best! Currently I am saving my hard earned $$ so I can see their future movies. More power!

oh man....someone is really desperate to promote ja's movies by posting "good" review from some magazine....

IMO...no one cares if the review is good or bad...people will go and watch it....and it seems that people don't care coz ja's movie only earned so little compare to how much they pay her...isn't it they paid her $9million for this movie??? if that's how much they paid her..man...the producers lost a lot of money...

people will go to movies to be entertain not to make them think deeply...entertain them not to bore them period....so whatever good reviews ja's movie get...still the movie bombed....movies are good only if people are willing to pay $10 to watch them....it's all about revenue/profits....

sorry to say but everyone knows that ja without braddy is a box office poison!!

I am puzzled as to why someone would publish a review of
"Friends with Money". That ship has sailed. The movie has made
$5.5 million so far.

For every decent review of the movie there was one like this--
from the New Yorker:

"... The trouble with Holofcener’s scheme is that the center of
the movie is dead. Olivia has no drives or hopes or powerful
regrets. She has nothing to say, and Aniston does most of her
acting with her lower lip, which she wrinkles and tucks
under the upper one—it’s a technique, of sorts. She pulls so little
out of herself that we lose all interest in her by the middle of the
picture."

But I thought this was an interesting observation from Films in
Review.com:

. ...This being a Jennifer Aniston vehicle, I must say that I prefer
her in this type of “indie” ensemble role. She should pursue
serious actress roles that compliment her wounded, angled face
and structured delivery instead of chasing after Julia Roberts-style
stardom. It will never happen. The dismal box-office of her past
few films have already made that clear.

Passing Through, I think George Clooney didn't get involved in field work in Africa or even spoke much about it because his focus was on other subjects. Like Brad and Angie, he believes in being an active citizen, but he's had different causes. He has looked at the role of government, and citizens' roles in their own government, and made films and many television appearances talking about it, from making Confessions of a Dangerous Mind to Goodnigh and Good Luck, to acting in Syriana, all about making your government accessible and accountable, because in a democracy, your government does not just repesent you, it IS you, it is comprised of what you elect and how you make those politicians act. Here it is government OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people, but most people don't want to have a say in it, they just accept whatever happens and a great number don't even vote. His main focus for many years has been apathy, simply because we are an affluent nation that doesn't have urgent needs. But to just swallow what we are fed by the government, or by media, and not think it through or get the facts and make the media report the facts and make the government answer its people is not only dangerous, but it's not taking full advantage of democracy. He sees duty in being a citizen, and not duty as in forced drudgery, but as in responsibility and honor.
If he is now looking at what can be done in Africa, that is indeed a shift in his priorities, and I would bet it has to do with Brad and Angelina, who he has been impressed with. I think once he made Good Night and Good Luck, and did all the press for it, he felt like he had said what he wanted to say on that subject and is now moving onto something else that is also about being a good citizen, this time about being a citizen of the world.

I know I'll be tarred and feathered for this post, but it's worth it for me .... I think most of you know I try to be kind and mild, WELL, today is not my usual day !!!!

This is from BBC, of course US won't publicise this!!! "

US war costs 'could hit $811bn'

The US is spending more than ever on the conflict in Iraq
The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has soared and may now reach $811bn (£445bn), says a report by the Congressional Research Service.

Wow and what did we accomplish????? I want my USA government to tell me how many US kids and Iraqi civilians were killed! Is this the way to make the world better? Right, well i'm at a point to vote AJ for US president at least she has a heart and cares!!

PS: The ding dong of conservatives Limbaugh has been arrested again today for drug charges :)

Of course money is important, but this can't buy all the happiness you want. family, kid, health. another few more year, Jen will understand this.

That story is just dumb. Maybe it's just me, but I'm confused as to why BP would fly 6,000 miles to talk to a doctor. They've got telephones in Africa! Surely he would get on the phone and talk to the doctor before he flew from Africa to Cali to consult, then get on a plane and fly back to Africa to get Angie and the kids. Do the tabs even use logic when they print these stories? Of course not. They just see the big dollar sign and here, "Cha ching!"
