Brangelina Await Baby's Birth
Nomadic stars Angelina and Brad are spending the last few weeks before the baby arrives deep in Namibia, where picnics in the desert are the order of the day. Accompanied by their nanny, Maddox and toddler Zahara relish their adoptive parents' undivided attention as they play in the sand. ¶ Having taken Maddox on a wild spin through the dunes on a quad bike, Brad hitches little Zahara up onto his shoulders for a more gentle type of fun. The star of Ocean's Eleven is clearly very much at ease as a father and rarely is there a moment when he is not involved with the children in some way. For Angelina, at this late stage in her pregnancy, his hands-on approach is a godsend, allowing her to sit back and take things easy. ¶ Globe-trotting Angelina, who professes herself to be "in love" with Namibia, is planning to give birth in the southwest African country. And with such a birthplace, it is hardly suprising that the Hollywood couple are thinking of giving their baby a traditional Namibian name. ¶ Namibia has a strong emotional hold over Angelina as it was here tht she first became a mother. After meeting Maddox in Cambodia, his adoption came through while Angelina was filming Beyond Borders in Namibia and so she had her first experience of parenthood in his vast and empty land, and was helped, she has said, by plenty of advice from the local mothers. Namibia will now provide the backdrop to her first taste of childbirth. ¶ The desert provides a soft landing for Zahara, who looks as though her walking is coming on in leaps and bounds with Angelina and Brad on hand to steady her. This time out is a rare luxury for the Jolie-Pitts, whose schedule is usually packed with philanthropic engagements around the world, not to mention the bread-and-butter business of movie-stardom. The last time we saw Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie in such an idyllic family scene they were simply playing at parenthood, dressed in retro gear and surrounded by a trio of blonde-haired child models to promote their film Mr and Mrs Smith. But it's now nearly one year later, and this time round the images of the couple, set against the backdrop of the sweeping sands of the Namib desert, aren't just a fantasy. Since they became a real-life couple, the pair, along with their adopted children Maddox and Zahara, have been photographed globetrotting everywhere from the Dominican Republic to Japan, from Haiti to Paris.
But these exclusive posted photos, quiet, simple and unassuming, capture the Hollywood stars and their growing brood in their most intimate family moments as they enjoy their real-life African adventure -- and await the birth of their baby.
Brad, looking rugged in a khaki T-shirt and trousers, is every inch the father figure, kneeling down to play with four-year-old Maddox, helping little Zahara get her bearings as she toddles around and hoisting her up onto his shoulders - an enviable vantage point from which to take in the magnificent scenery.
Angelina, meanwhile, looks like she couldn't be more pleased as she reclines in the sand during a family picnic, a baby bag at the ready. "Angie and Brad have a real love for the people of Africa and Africa itself," the couple's philanthropic adviser Trevor Neilson told HELLO! "They have very much enjoyed their time in Namibia, and the people there have been wonderful hosts. They love the country and the people."
It was there in 2002 that Angelina first began sharing her life with Maddox, whom she'd adopted from a Cambodian orphanage during the filming of the first
Tomb Raider film. She was in Namibia to shoot another movie, Beyond Borders, when the adoption came through, and it was there that she spent her first night with her then seven-month-old baby - her first night as a mother.
Making Beyond Borders, a film about humanitarian work, had a profound effect on her. "When I read the script it started to change me," she said at the time. "I was amazed at how much it had changed me and then, in the making of it, how much it meant to me. It just inspired me to start travelling and to educate myself."
"I wanted to learn more. I sat up one night and felt I should be more responsible about what I was doing with my life and have more purpose. I don't understand exactly what's going on unless I'm inside a place."
It seems that things have come full circle, as Angelina, about to give birth for the first time, will be welcoming her child with Brad in Namibia. And in the meantime, as they happily await the new arrival, the adventure-seeking couple, who have in the past been spotted piloting aircraft and dashing around on his and hers motorbikes, are taking full advantage of their African sojourn.
Brad has been seen zooming around on his Ducati motorbike, and, as a family, they've visited various locales during their stay at the luxurious Burning Shore lodge, where Brad plays catch with Maddox in the garden. Highspeed high jinks seem to be a theme on the desert jaunt, as the actor also went quad-biking with the little boy at the Desert Explorers Adventure Centre, as heavily pregnant Angelina and her little girl looked on.
To slow things down a bit the foursome have been checking out the local wildlife at the Okonjima Lodge, home to the AfriCat Foundation which is dedicated to the conservation of cheetahs and leopards, and the Harnas Wildlife Foundation and Guestfarm, which counts Angelina as a patron.
Meanwhile, the hoopla surrounding the fiercely private family has reached fever pitch, with daily reports on them sometimes based on the flimsiest of rumours. One particularly memorable piece claimed lions were guarding the couple.
There undoubtedly is plenty of tight security surrounding them, helping to keep the lenses of the paparazzi at bay. The local government have even been involved, according to the Associated Press, doing their part to keep the family's private life private by reminding journalists that they must have valid work permits or risk being arrested.
So it was not exactly a shock when Brad, in an AP phone interview from Namibia, responded, "Absolutely not" when asked if he'd like to comment on his impending fatherhood. He did, however, speak freely about the African country he and Angelina have called home for the past few weeks, breaking what had been a lengthy silence on the subjet of where they settle.
"Namibia's just a country we're very fond of," he said. "It's a beautiful land and hospitable people, and a place that we want to be for the time being."
The architecture aficionado is teaming up with Global Green USA, an American environmental organization, to launch a design competition to rebuild, in an eco-friendly way, areas of New Orleans devasted by Hurricane Katrina.
"Our goal is to kick off the rebuilding effort. It's certainly long overdue. People are frustrated. We could possible build something that is better and takes into account the historical traditions of the city and the voices of the people, and turn this into some kind of good."
Angelina, like Brad, was using her fame towards a good cause last week. With all eyes on her as she counts down to her baby's birth, she was shining the spotlight on the mass atrocities taking place in Sudan by taking out a full-page ad in a US newspaper.
Angelina, a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Goodwill Ambassador, has visited the volatile region twice. "I'm an actress and certainly no foreign policy expert," she states in the advertisement, which goes on to describe the killings of hundreds of thousands of civilians by a government-supported militia.
She was taking out the ad, she said, to encourage the full funding of peacekeepers in Darfur. "If people are aware of the facts," she said, "I believe many will be driven to action."
Angelina wants to "use her voice to help the most vulnerable", Trevor Neilson told us. "She has a clear view of the world's responsibility to protect its most vulnerable people, and that those who have power in our world have a responsibility to protect the powerless. She jsut feels that she can hopefully use whatever influence she has to draw attention to these issues."
And she apparently has her partner's full support in her effects. "Brad is also very pasionate about these issues, and has other areas that he also focuses on, but there is definitely a shared concern about issues of inequity and justice," Trevor told us.
Although just weeks away from her May due date, it seems that Angelina's passions are keeping her hard at work. "She's right there, personally emailing, dictating, giving creative input," said Trevor. "The Darfur project is her vision, her concept."
No matter where in the world she is, the star seems never to forget her commitments. Her estranged father, actor Jon Voight, recently praise the way his daughter puts her A-list status to good use. "What do movie stars do with all that success,money, white-hot spotlight and fame?" he asked in an interview with the New York Post. "Angie has found a way. She's investing in her celebrity to help others."
Concentrating on her pregnanct, her children and her charity efforts, Angelina is also apparently already thinking about getting back to work. Lara Croft creator Ian Livingston told a British newspaper that the star has signed on to do a third Tomb Raider film, the follow-up to The Cradle of Life.
"Paramount has optioned it and Angelina has agreed to star," he is quoted as saying. And despite being heavily pregnant Angelina is supposedly already in training to help her return to form after she gives birth.
Preparations for the big day are well under way, and after being kept guessing for months about where the baby will make its debut, we now know it will be in Africa. The governor of the Namibian province where the couple are staying has even reportedly announced: "They are having the baby here, and they've talked about giving it a Namibian name."
Zahara's moniker has African roots, and it looks like Brad and Angelina may be looking for a second girl's name, as the odds are they will be welcoming another daughter.
Before they moved to Africa, the family settled for awhile in France. There they checked out items at a local baby boutique. It was apparently quite a shopping spredd, with the two purchasing socks, a bonnet and layette. Most interestingly, however, they also picked out a number of dresses. "We think it's a girl, but we're not 100 percent certain," a source quotes Angelina as saying. To cover all bases, she is also said to have bought a tiny grey T-shirt emblazoned with the word ' Boy'.
"Just in case," she was overhead remarking, though she added: "Since I already have a boy and a girl, it doesn't really matter!"
Perhaps in order to make Maddox feel special and thwart the possibility of sibling rivalty, Brad seems recently to have been making an extra effort to bond with his adopted son. Though he now has a buzz cut, he tried out a mohawk, matching cute Maddox's famous 'do. Here's also reportedly had a tattoo, a Buddhist prayer of protection similar to the one Angelina has in honour of Maddox, etched on his body.
With Maddox inspiring not just his father but perfect strangers to imitate his cute streetwise style, it seems we just can't get enough of the Jolie-Pitt family. And Brad and Angelina mania shows no signs of winding down any time soon. Here in the UK, for example, it was revealed the film stars had become the most searched-for couple on the internet, ousting the former number-one pair, David and Victoria Beckham, from the top spot.
And after large screens were put up around their beachfront lodge, speculation started up -- again -- about a possible wedding, this time in Namibia.
It was just the latest of many spots, including George Clooney's Italian estate, to have been touted as possible wedding locations over the past few months. But since a ceremony has yet to crstallize, it looks like Brad and Angie will be toasting a new arrival before they'll be celebrating a walk down the aisle.

I know you've probably seen it before, but I could not believe their undeniable offscreen chemistry, and bantering. They were obviously relaxed away from JA loving media scrutiny at that time and I think their true feelings are obvious even then.
I thought what Angie says about when you've been together for a long time, to try to rediscover one another when things go wrong - I feel she would not have said this if she was seeing BP behind JA's back. She seemed sincere
Also I love seeing Angie glowing and beautiful, I get so frustrated with the likes of National Ledger/Post Chronicle alleging Brad is walked all over, and that they're unhappy. I heard Brad sound very happy about being in Namibia. He has always been protective over his partners in the past , I cannot imagine that he isn't the same alpha male all protecting father to be now over Angie, who can seem sweet and vulnerable beneath all that smouldering sex appeal

Jared, do you have pics of them when they were out and about in Namibia like they showed at ET and Insider last night? Angelina looked so cute with that do-rag on her hair and she had on that blouse where the spaghetti strap had fallen off her shoulders. She looked so healthy and glowing in that picture and I think she was wearing purple or is it some shade of gray again?

The other pictures were very nice too but that desert looks so stark. It's like they've been stranded on an island somewhere where there was nothing, not even a single tree. That would be a good place to go driving a dunebuggy or an ATV but that's about it. Well, at least, you'd be able to spot a paparazzi coming a mile away.

Now I can finally see the bracelet that everyone has been talking about on Brad. I wonder why there is only one picture with Maddox in it. delurking mode here... I want to say THANK YOU!!!! My observations:
1) It doesn't seem to be too hot there. The ladies are wearing sweaters. Brad doesn't even have armpit sweat. :) I wonder if they tent or canopy. It looks like they are under some shaded area.
2) All of them are barefoot. Only Brad has shoes on. I wonder if he's too shy to show his unmanicured toes.
3) They make it a point to not have a "posed family portrait. There is a fifth person (in this case Holly) or a family member missing in the shot. I bet that would fetch a pretty penny and they know it.
4) In the shot where Z is walking, she is already practicing her pout. I bet she'll be a looker when she grows up. Gorgeous eyes and mouth just like the mama.
5) Z seems to be wearing the same head cover that Angelina had in the Dateline picture.
6) Maddox is holding a paintbrush. I wish they'd shown his artwork with his name in it - "Maddox Jolie-Pitt"
Interesting how some people say "go away", yet their threads have hundreds of comments. LOL!
The Jolie Pitt family is simply taking charge of the media circus surrounding them. They have been married since the beginning of '06 and I believe the tabs spoke of a birthday party for Maddox which occurred at same time. Ceremony was exclusive and included only family members and specific others...no marriage license issued from the state of California, so ceremony was symbolic. Pitt already had his billion dollar wedding with JA and neither Angie or Brad need anything official to deem them married/life partners/parents. So don't believe the wedding rumors because they would be the last couple to need the pomp and excess of a grand wedding. They have much to accomplish and they have taken their responsibility quite seriously. IMHO
Oh my Gosh! What a beautiful pictures we have here. Yes, We certainly are having such a exceptionally beautiful day today. As usual, Angelina looks stunning and looking healthy as well, the kids looks happy and Brad...he looks so happy too. :)

I think this is what Lainey was talking about. The family was paid for these pics but it was also to alleviate the pressure of the paps hounding them. I think it's a good idea. Instead of the paps profiting from this family's popularity, the family should. It gives them control and they could use the money to finance their own personal as well as charitable endeavours. Wasn't it posted on the Babel thread that they got $700,000 for this?
If they start doing this themselves, the paps will soon realize they can't make money off them and may just give them a wide berth from now on. (Yeah, as if the paps would give up their candid shots which in all probability makes more bucks!)

I am wearing one right now. Honest. It's not for religious purposes, I am not having a bad hair day...it's just an accesory, like bangles, Anklets, chains, earrings. That's just the way i dress. A few of my American friends have started doing it. If you find the right scarf with the right out fit (doesn't matter: jeans & t-shirt, dresses, skirts) I tell you it is absolutely beautiful. Makes you feel very feminine too.

AG I Know all about the bangles, I have 12 24K gold ones on my right arm! I wear them every day. Not for fashion but more cultural. Anyway the who headscarf thing is cultural which is why when Zahara was seen wearing one the first time, it created quite a buzz in the community.

I don't know what African American community you're talking about, but where I'm from black people do where bandanas on their heads. Hell, I've worn them myself. It's not the bandana itself that's the problem, it's the tying it in the "AUnt Jemima" manner in which the scarf is knotted at the top of the forehead.

I too would like to request if there are pictures of Angelina with the head scarf as mentioned by post #34. I would love to see them. I think it is very cute to see little Z with the headscarf. I remember the very 1st pictures of Zahara, and yes I bought the magazine, as this was pre-JJ blog. She had that very colorful head bonnet, and I read that Angie was doing it in respect to her Etheopian(sp?) culture that girls must keep their heads covered.

GWYNETH PALTROW and her Husband were pictured in People magazine with their children. It showed the family in different activities in a park. They allowed a People magazine photographer to take pics of their day in the park. Why is it a negative because BP and AJ did it. Because they ask for privacy. Most stars ask for privacy but will do a photo shoot if it helps with their purpose. I agree with others that BP and AJ did this to decrease the damand of pics of them.

As far as I know, People own the rights to them in the US, therefore, once it gets disseminated over the internet, it's their job to pull them down as soon as possible or else, like the above saying goes, you snooze you lose. I think that once it's been passed around on the internet enough, then People would have difficulty getting anyone, unless that person had a specific obligation. So widespread, anonymous publication might destroy their rights. Typically it's not easy to get someone who merely posts information on the internet without some sort of connection to someone who had an obligation to keep it secret. Of course, I might be wrong.

"People" having the baby photo rights and Hello having the pre-

baby photo deal, but People is the likely choice for U.S. rights.
With these pix, Since Hello is a U.K. publication they get the rights
for that part of the world and People gets the rights for the U.S.
To give the pre-baby rights to Hello only would mean that the U.S.
market could only see them if they bought Hello as an import or
on the internet. The point is to make these photos easily
accessible to everyone who buys the magazine. Buying an import
isn't as easily accessible as buying a domestic magazine and
internet pictures drive mag sales down, so they have to sell the
rights to the U.S. and U.K. not one or other.
This is a staged photo shoot which magazines paid $700,000 for. Anyway, I am still trying to figure out why Angelina having tattoos, or sex with a woman, or even wearing a vial of blood from her husband around her neck is considered immoral. This is an incredible woman, and always has been, and when looked at closely, even what people think of as immoral on the surface is really a reflection of a deep love for life, other people, and the whole world without prejudice. Sarcasm aside....do you guys know what kills me the most about all of JA's ambition? Somewhere along the line she lost sight of the fact that she's 37, not 22. There are GREAT actresses in Hollywood in her age category. Why should a producer settle for her when they can get a dozen better actresses? On top of which, good roles for women over a certain age are hard to come by. Men can be lead actors well into their 60s - see Harrison Ford. Women have until about 35 and then they have to start playing second fiddle to younger actresses. Unfortunately for JA she's not that well-preserved a 37 either. Plus, she came from TV. I may have lost track here, but that's at least 3 strikes against. In baseball parlance...she's out. The next batter is up at the plate and ready to swing.

Oh you're right, Passing Through, my bad! To make a reference to older actresses still finding good roles, I should have referred to those on the Big Screen, where she believes she belongs!!
The sad thing is that she got so many roles in the last two years that so many others could have sunk their teeth into. All her romantic comedies before she just played Rachel again in a movie. In "The Good Girl" she wasn't glam and she was decent, but it was a small movie, and she was surrounded by a powerhouse actor in John C. Reilly and the soon-to-be star Jake Gyllenhaal.
I posted somewhere else about actresses her age. I think that there are still roles for women her age who are good actresses, even though they are fewer but as they approach 50 they really have to worry. But Julia Roberts is her age, as is (supposedly) CZJ, Nicole Kidman one year older and having no trouble getting roles, and Renee Zellwegger one year younger. With all this competition out there among good actresses her age, who can carry a movie, why would a producer or director want her when she has so little presence? Her fans scream and yell for her, but don't support her movies. Her career has to be more than as a pin-up -- even Pamela Anderson does more than pose for magazines! I guess that's where the singing comes in!
Oh, Gawd help us. We have K-Fed, Paris Hilton, and now Jen Aniston foisting CDs on us. Bring back William Hung!

As much as avatars are fun to look it, I doubt it would be wise to allow the attachment of avatars. When the BAMZ threads get bulky, the loading of pages gets slowed down significantly. We (my office of 15) were on the fence about these two. Now we're convinced they are truly manipulating the press for the purpose of maintaining their image. These are posed photos. They had to do this amid growing negativitiy and press about their apartheid-membered security team, barricating themselves like royalty, upsetting locals, rumors of an imminent split, etc.
Someone passed a quote from Lainey that really rings true (re the photo Mohawk and baby-huggng photo shoot):

Like people don't do this in real life. People do it for their bosses, for their teachers, for their mother-in-law, you name it. in fact people are often nicer to friends and strangers than they are to their own family. now suddenly, trying to control how one is portrayed in real life is something of a bad thing. So any one of you were in the public eye and there were negative press, like you wouldn't want good things, the truth, whatever being told instead. ludicrous.

Yep, so what who cares? They are MOVIE stars who have their movies to promote in the near future. They have to promote themselves. It's their job. At least they look good doing it, unlike Aniston or TomKat.
What a nice picture and write-up about this couple. I just love this family. I hope their tribe will increase - I mean I hope that there will be more rich and popular people who will use their celebrity status to help the less fortunate. Their presence in Africa also helped the world to look at this poorest and yet beautiful continent in a different way. I hope and pray that more will be done for this place. Thanks Brad and Jolie for the wisdom you have in helping us to look at Africa in a very different and positive way. I really appreciate it.
the funny thing about people is that they want other people to do things a certain way and to remain 'real' even though everyone manipulates how people see them. either we want to be seen as tougher than we are or nicer, or smarter or whatever adjective you want than we really are. when we see people in public, they are rarely like that all the time. this applies to everyone.
of course if people are going to take pictures of you, do you really want people to see you hogging a hot dog with your mouth wide open? of course not. you'll probably want people to take nice photos of you. what i don't understand is why this is suddenly a sin to want others to see your good side. some of you might think that manipulating the media is a bad thing, but i call it calling the shots. every single one of you if you were placed in the public eye would want to control how your picture is taken. to do otherwise is just not thinking straight.

The point is they are NOT promoting THEMSELVES! That's the whole difference that your whole office couldn't figure out while supposedly working. They are not going on Oprah to talk about THEMSELVES, or mags for THEMSELVES. They are promoting an interview about education in third world countries, and a contest to encourage environmentally friendly New Orleans buildings, while seeing an opportunity to raise millions for UNICEF at the same time!
It's brilliant, and if manipulative, so is any business deal. But this has nothing whatsoever to do with their own images, they have so much else to promote, and they don't give a rat's ass what anyone thinks if they are frowning at paps and then the pap wants to say they were fighting with each other. An added benefit of this photo shoot is sticking it to the razzis who have harassed them.
As for the articles about the security smackdowns, etc. if you and your whole office would take the time to read carefully, you will notice the reports of upset locals and aggressive protection all came from the razzis and reporters who were thwarted in their illegal efforts to harass them, and then went home and had articles written to slam them for revenge. Get a clue!!
These are not two people who live in the tabloids for their image, like Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton. These are two people who meet with heads of state, and are interviewed in prime time for work beyond a movie. Sure, the tradeoff is having to give a little of what they know gossip hounds want to hear, but the main focus will be about subjects not having to do with themselves or their private lives, unlike someone else we all know.

Yes, I'm saying both Hello and People had a deal. I imagine the photos will appear in People's next issue. However, until they appear in People in the U.S., they will try to get them removed from any source that they know is carrying them to help ensure high sales.

Those celebrity magazine reports that actress Angelina Jolie is due as early as next week differ from her announcement that she's not quite eight months pregnant.
Jolie, 30, sat down this week for an interview with NBC's Ann Curry in Namibia, Africa, where the actress and her family — Brad Pitt, 42, and their two children — are living at a resort while they await the arrival of their newest member.
The interview airs on Today Thursday (7 a.m. ET/PT) and Dateline Sunday (7 p.m. ET/PT).
In her first comments about her relationship with her Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, who divorced Friends actress Jennifer Aniston last year, Jolie tells Curry, "I don't talk about our — my relationship in public. But we also don't talk about it at home.
"It's one of those funny things that just happens, and you live your life, and you're a family. But you never actually discuss (it)."
The whole relationship question, Jolie says, makes her "giggle." It's "just kind of funny. If (Brad) saw this, he would probably understand why I was laughing. Because I just don't know how to address that kind of thing."
Jolie says she broke her silence with the media to further her latest cause: educational opportunities for children worldwide.
When she looks at her son Maddox, 4, from Cambodia, and daughter Zahara, 1, from Ethiopia, she says, "I just think, especially my daughter, there's no possible way she would have gone to school. She is so smart and so strong. And her potential as a woman one day is great.
"Hopefully, she will be active in her country and in her continent when she's older. And because she'll have a good education, she'll be able to do that much more."
The actress elaborates on the changes in her life in recent years: "My life is very full. I'm very proud when I see my children — already Mad, just how he adjusts to different places in the world and different people and his views and the kind of man he's going to be. I'm very lucky."
Jolie says she knows the gender of the child she and Pitt are expecting, but she doesn't reveal whether Zahara and Maddox can expect a brother or a sister.

Just to be fair. Someone correct me on this pls...I think California is a "no-fault state". Hence, JA filed under irreconcilable differences. Not that I believe that there was cheating. Let's see, Angie is very proud of her family of Maddox, Zahara, Brad and even Holly Goline. Is she exploiting Holly by letting her in on the family portraits?!! Her children are an important and integral part of her. They are part of her existence. To separate her children would not be who she is as a human being. Perhaps you wouldn't feel complete without being seen with your gnome.
Besides, it's not as if celebrities these days live an isolated lifestyle of being without their children. Surf around enough beyond the Brad and Angie sites and you would easily see that it's part and parcel for celebrities to pose voluntarily and involuntarily with their children. Children aren't just to be heard; they can be seen, as well. Kate Hudson did a magazine spread with her son. Angela Bassett had a People cover story of her new babies, as did many others.

Cindy2, I think this is exactly what pisses off both their detractors and the media. The media wants celebs or THEIR terms and don't like it when the tables are turned. That's why there's such a dearth of paparazzi hunting celebs. The media does this under the guise of free speech or the public's right to know what going on or to know the truth. The reality is that we only know the "truths" that the media choose to show us. They don't like that we're able to find more than one side of the story. In the future I'm sure you'll start to see more and more celebs controlling their images the way Brad & Angie are doing now. Afterall, it IS their lives...not Time, Incs.
With the speed of the internet it's getting harder and harder for tv and print media to control the images of celebs and they don't like that. Look at what happened today with these "exclusive" photos. First of all, how "exclusive" could they have been when we heard 3 days ago that BAMZ had done an official photo shoot. At that point it became a race to see who could find the photos first. Both Hello! and People/Time, Inc. are very lucky that some employee didn't "leak" the photos ahead of time. As it is, all it took was for 1 person to get the magazine for the pictures to be all over the internet. Time, Inc. can issue all of the threats they like, but they'll never be able to hunt down all the millions of places these photos are now at in order to make good on their threat.
Print and tv media are the next dinosaur...and they can't stand it. They're fighting tooth and nail to still be relevant in a society where the word "Google" is both an adverb and and adjective. If you need to know something these says, you Google it.

Angie and Brad know that the paps will do everything just to get a snapshot so they probably felt that it's safer for their kids if they knew who and when these pictures are being taken.

Passing Through, the media landscape has definitely changed with the proliferation of the Internet. Moreso, the mainstream media is being heavily breathed on by bloggers. To me, it's the beauty of competition. It keeps everyone more on his/her toes.
Though we can get these pictures lightning quick - mainly from the generosity of each other to share these pictures, magazines may still have the edge on the interviews. Even then, it's a losing battle as we have the copies of X's Vogue interviews without having to buy the magazines. But there are always the subcribers and the sentimental fans who would like the hardcopies for their memorbilia.

Those celebrity magazine reports that actress Angelina Jolie is due as early as next week differ from her announcement that she's not quite eight months pregnant.
Jolie, 30, sat down this week for an interview with NBC's Ann Curry in Namibia, Africa, where the actress and her family — Brad Pitt, 42, and their two children — are living at a resort while they await the arrival of their newest member.
The interview airs on Today Thursday (7 a.m. ET/PT) and Dateline Sunday (7 p.m. ET/PT).
In her first comments about her relationship with her Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star, who divorced Friends actress Jennifer Aniston last year, Jolie tells Curry, "I don't talk about our — my relationship in public. But we also don't talk about it at home.
"It's one of those funny things that just happens, and you live your life, and you're a family. But you never actually discuss (it)."
The whole relationship question, Jolie says, makes her "giggle." It's "just kind of funny. If (Brad) saw this, he would probably understand why I was laughing. Because I just don't know how to address that kind of thing."
Jolie says she broke her silence with the media to further her latest cause: educational opportunities for children worldwide.
When she looks at her son Maddox, 4, from Cambodia, and daughter Zahara, 1, from Ethiopia, she says, "I just think, especially my daughter, there's no possible way she would have gone to school. She is so smart and so strong. And her potential as a woman one day is great.
"Hopefully, she will be active in her country and in her continent when she's older. And because she'll have a good education, she'll be able to do that much more."
The actress elaborates on the changes in her life in recent years: "My life is very full. I'm very proud when I see my children — already Mad, just how he adjusts to different places in the world and different people and his views and the kind of man he's going to be. I'm very lucky."

I agree with Original jpf that your mom is very wise. I totally understand Jolie-Pitt don't have to discuss their relationship. Come to think of it my husband and I never discussed having children. We never had to; I knew how much he loved kids and although I was the one with a career at that time I never questioned whether I wanted children. If BP/JA had to talk about it so long and in public, they should have done that before they got married.
When Jolie opened her heart to Pitt I won't be surprised if she was open to getting pregnant right there and then, already knowing how much he wanted them. That's a natural progression and nothing was there to stop her. His divorce was already filed and he was already a free man, LEGALLY separated.

Forgot to add that I'm with ya on them not needing to talk it to death. It flowed, and I think there was just a knowing; a contentment and comfort level that didn't require explanation, exploration, or anything else other than the decision to let it happen. While it all may sound lose and unencumbered to some, to me they're solid as a rock. Angelina wouldn't be there and nor would Brad if this wasn't about each feeling that what connects them is seriously special. This is love in it's most organic state....no need for pretense or wondering. Nothng phoney here, just the real deal at work.

Even though i think AJ is the most gorgeous woman on earth, I think she could do better with her wardrobe, especially on the red carpet. Her attire actually has improved since she hooked up wiith BP. Some of her dresses before at the Oscars are just so horrible. I hope she follows BP's good taste in clothing. I applaud brad pitt for 'staging' these pictures. I just bought a copy this morning and it blew me away. ahara is getting more beautiful now. I love the pix where brad put her on his shoulder. It looked so natural and I don't think Zahara could have faked it. It's high time that somebody do something about these paparazzi. Lainey says the JA singing thing was a joke and backs it up with logic. I don't remember which thread it was on, but I have to agree with those who feel sorry for her. I loved her comments about their relationship - let's face it....do WE sit and talk with our significant others about our relationships or do we spend most of our time LIVING them? If mental cruelty or something like that wants to be mentioned, you can, and it is often used in adjusting settlements. That's why Denise Richards is making court claims now, regardless of what she originally filed under. Jen could have also done so, as late as the summer if she wanted to if she had found just cause to claim that adultery took place so she could gain a better settlement and a big chunk of that public sympathy she so obviously desires. She never made any such claims.

I think some of her openness was encouraged by BBT, who was worse -- anyone remember the "we just ****ed in the car on the way here" said on the red carpet? When Angie was on Inside the Actor's Studio, after she had started dating Brad, she was still open about her own personal life and the turmoil in it. But if something you say involves someone else, and they want it private, you keep your trap shut, and I think that's why she was giggling in the interview with Ann Curry -- she has so much she wants to tell about this relationship and how happy she feels, but she won't out of respect for Brad. And Brad learned his lesson from his too public divorce after talking too much. They are hiding from the press BECAUSE of too much talking during his "golden couple" days, so yeah, more proof that Brad is taking control here. It's something Angie has always said she wanted, someone who was strong enough to take charge with her, and she could respect that much.

I agree with you 100%..Many publications have made Brad out to be a wuss...I see just the opposite in him. People with nothing to hide generally keep thier mouth shut. I agree, she first was celibate for about a year after her BBT divorce and just concentrated on Maddox. Then when she took lovers, she kept them away from Maddox. No one but friends and family members got close to Maddox. So, for her to not only let a man into her son's life, but to change their names to his -- that says it all. Thank you, thank you, to all the above posters who are saying Brad has a lot of control in this relationship. He is one of the richest, most powerful men in Hollywood and can do whatever he wants. So to say he is in a relationship where he is "whipped" is not true, in my opinion. Angelina had made herself into one of the most unobtainable women on the planet as far as a long term relationship with anybody. Only a very strong, self-confident man would have dared to have gone after her, but go after her is what Brad did, and I believe he did it relentlessly. I think that's true. A man who is happy with his girlfriend/wife is often called "whipped" for no reason other than he is making decisions WITH the woman in his life, and not dictating to the little woman. I don't know what people want Brad to do to show he's capable of making up his own mind about things and helping in family decision-making -- buy an ultra-sound machine to use in the desert? Drag Angelina by the hand with her always two steps behind? Oh no, that's been done -- and it's crazy. They are in a no-win situation, so that's why I really don't think they care what anyone who doesn't know them thinks of them or their relationship and they just want to keep it to themselves. Yeah, I don't understand the comments about Brad being a toy
boy for Angelina either. I mean, she moved into his home. Have
you noticed that when she was in Paris, she rarely left the
apartment alone. In almost all the photos of Angelina in Paris,
whether with the kids or not, she was escorted by Mickey the
bodyguard. Brad on the other hand has been photographed
going out on his own. I can't imagine Angelina wanting to be
escorted around by a body guard without Brad's insistence. And
if you ask me, that's quite a big concession for an independantly
minded woman to make. I certainly would hate to be tailed, even
if it for my own good. She's pregnant with his child. She doesn't
talk about her relationship like she used to do, perhaps because

I don't think either one controls the other but they are making
adjustments to live together happily. Its probably important to
