I completely understand what Angelina is going through. I know what it's like to be gossipped about and have false rumors spread about you and to be scrutinized by people, even by people who do not know you. I know that her job is a stressful one and she is strong.

But if you're going to get pregnant by another popular actor, i suggest you atleast explain to your fans what's the deal. Atleast, if not for yourself, for your childrens' sake. They may suffer from the humiliation or stigma of it all by others.

I mean it's just like your next door neighbor getting pregnant by another neighbor's ex-husband. Neighbors are going to be shocked and think, what the hell! What a bitch!

Angelina looks bad in front of alot of people's eyes right now. No matter what humanitarian work she does, she's not going to rectify the nasty rumors about her and Brad.

How is she going to spend the rest of her life in this industry, trying to avoid the personal questions? Especially a question about why she did what she did? It's not really the norm to go do what she did. She's not some actor's wife, where she doesn't have to answer to anybody.

So if Angelina wakes up and decides she's off, there's nothing Brad Pitt can do about it. Those children have his name but they are not legally his children. He has no rights to those kids whatsoever.

#28- I am a parent and I see two small children who appear to feel secure with their parents. Of course I had no conversation with Z as she is a 15 month old infant. I have observed that she does not cry but looks alert and points to things in a number of pictures. Maddox does appear to notice paps and to not be happy to see them but he does not (at least in pictures I've seen)scream, roll around on the floor, or strike out at them. As to the conception of the baby, I have no idea, maybe you do. All I can observe is that BP and AJ appear to be unable to spend more than 2-3 days apart. They seem to be willing to sacrifice and compromise for one another, BP the life he had and AJ the life she had. They appear to care very much for one another to take all the abuse from people like you who don't know them (at least you did not say you knew them). I hope they make it for as long as it will last, and I CERTAINLY don't know how long that will be. They are in a profession that does not support the "concept" of family. Once he was seperated they never denied each other they just didn't discuss it. No way in hell they arranged that photo, that's for amateurs like Ben Affleck and others. Pitt doesn't need it nor would he go looking for it. All he has to do is go walking down the street and he'll be found.

using a timeline---we can establish there is strain and cracks on the marriage way back in 2001. it just take a triggering event for brad to pull away. and i believe filming mr and mrs smith is the triggering event.

go to oprah.com, do a search on brad pitt. there was an interview with oprah in may or april 2004. it talks about brad going to africa. it also shows the pic of brad with the ophans. why wasnt jennifer aniston face in the pic? all i can say is she is into hair, fashion, movies, and not on board with brad's goals. going to africa doesnt require a lengthy trip. it may take at the most a week. aniston finshed taping the final episode of friends in january 2004. yet she cant join her husband on these trips???? why is it i see her joining brad on red carpet and premier and not these humanitarian trip???

You know why? First of all, I want to assure you that I was ever one of those people who used to never care who Angelina was, anyway anyhow thought she was wild and weird. And most of my friends – either Americans or friends from foreign countries like Japan, Australia, Thailand – were all like, “Angelina was so remote and lost of touch to us” with her earlier years’ behavior, till we all see she seriously got involved in UN work, we started really admiring her. People are not fool. We can see she is such caring and giving person.

Secondly, so what she is with Brad now after he divorced with his ex? It’s their life and business not yours and you are so judgmental. And that would really make you look bad in front of a lot other people’s eyes, you know. The thing is you don’t know they were cheating. To me, I would choose to believe their words that they were NOT involved when Brad was still married! Also, Jen said Brad was honest with her about the attraction he felt for Angelina. So, you don’t believe Jen either, do you?

Third, you think they need to worry about their image? Ha, girl, you have to have your eyes or heart checked. They are way way much popular than they were when they were individually walking around and not together. Tell you the truth, no single person I know around me is not feeling for them nowadays. People love to see others fell in love and build a family, unless you are root for being a loner, choose to be unhappy for others.

Fourth, if I were you and like that much into worrying which celebrity has to have their image re-build, I would really worry for Jen, you know. I think it's great that Brad is bringing attention to the plight of others in this world. If I'm not mistaken, he has had such concerns before Angelina was in his life.

Things grew tense on Tuesday morning's Today show when Jennifer Aniston was asked about a rumor that Oprah Winfrey was planning to throw an $8 million wedding for her and boyfriend Vince Vaughn.

"I thought you weren't going to go there," Catherine Keener, Aniston's costar in the new movie Friends with Money, said to Today entertainment reporter Jill Rappaport as Aniston and costar Joan Cusack looked on silently.

When Rappaport asked the question, Aniston had just finished saying she didn't mind giving interviews, so long as the topic was the movie, not her love life.

Rappaport acknowledged Keener's instinct to protect Aniston, but said she was still curious about the rumors because she herself had never been to an $8 million wedding.

"And now you won't be," said Keener, as Aniston remained tight-lipped.

Friends with Money opens in limited engagements Friday.

In addition to promoting her new film, Aniston has also recently been in Chicago with Vaughn shooting additional scenes for the couple's upcoming film The Break Up.

I posted #3 last night, and it's amazing how a photo and interview that can give some people a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, can also give others such feelings of hate. I also saw this article from dlisted.com. I don't know why Catherine Keener had to speak up, why didn't Jennifer after saying that she did not want to speak about her love life? CKeener was either quicker with her riposte, or JA actually wanted to say something about her love life, after denying it. Or maybe she wanted to prolong the pity party by avowing that she did not want to be in a race for a wedding. She could even have said what Brad did, that "I am so not discussing that in this interview." Or she could have redirected the question to the movie she WAS promoting. Sheesh, she really does not know how to conduct interviews, does she?

Here is a link to a new video of BP and AJ's apartment in Paris before they rented it. Now it looks like the slums doesn't it :-) I can not believe the amount of lies that have been published about them over and over again most of it turned out to be crap paps or mags make up to increase sales. Unless I see pics or their publicists statements I do not believe anything I read for the so called "reliable sources". I really like this family and wish them well, but even with all the money they have I would not want to be in their shoes, I can not imagine trying to raise my kids, enjoy them and wait for the arrival of a new baby when they are being followed everywhere and being scrutinized for evey move they make (big deal Maddox gets face paints or nail polish, my sons did the same when they were kids).

The girl giving him a hug and her sister are both aids orphans and he has been supporting them. When Diane Sawyer asked the the girls is he your friend, they both said no he is like our father. Also, the younger one in the pic most probably has aids according to the symptoms the neighbors were telling them about. So why can't the haters just give credit to people when they are trying to do humanitarian work. They don't have to, they have enough money between the two of them to live a care free life in Holywood till they die. You can still love Jen, but you should not let yourself be blinded by hatred.

Love this post. If I may add one thing though....The baby issue was not the only one, but people (on both sides of the table) won't look at the whole pile of bones but keep focusing on that one thing, and it's not fair (IMO) to either party.

In Jennifer Anistons VF interview, one of her friends was ticked because she felt Brad let the world believe that it WAS about the lack of children that broke them up. Well, he DID say that was not the truth. Because he didn't continue in that declariation doesn't mean he didn't try clear it up. On the otherhand, Jennifer Anistion has turned around and basically did (and continues to do IMO) the same thing to Brad her buddy accused him of doing!

She doesn't owe anyone out here one thing, but since she DOES insist on continuing in her roundabout way to "ease" the subject in, she's had a gazillion opportunities to also reiterate that Angelina Jolie wasn't the cause of she and BP's marriage breaking up (like she did in ironically the VF interview), but no, she's allowed the issues/problems they had, and that are on record "in their own words" to be swept under the rug, and instead, continues to feed the myth "with her "Bermuda triangle" this, and her "I didn't know there was a problem" that.

She never brings up her statement in 2003 of not knowing if Brad was the love of her life, or that she and he had a pact that said "they'd take it as far as it could go" (who expects a marriage to last with THAT hanging in the air?!). Or what about her saying out of her own mouth that her internal issues lent themselves to the breakup, and that Brad had stood by her, but her self esteem wasn't the best. She never ever alludes to these things, yet she DOES leave the issue(s) she once denied........Angelina Jolie, and children (lack of).......but what now proves to be the sympathy cards she continues to play "no matter how many times she says....don't feel sorry for me." Chances are Jolie (who did not respond to interview requests) won't care much what the public thinks. She's too busy living her life on her own terms. Which makes people all the more interested.

"She wants to take flying lessons, and boom, she's got her license. She makes no apologies. 'This is who I am. Take it or leave it.' "





It's notable that even though most of her movies have tanked both commercially and critically, Jolie is considered an A-lister in Hollywood. With the exception of 2001's Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, the Oscar winner has never carried a hit movie. Yet Jolie's persona is so super-sized, her looks so unique, that her films seem almost an afterthought.

"She is larger than life, but she can't help it," says David Edelstein, film critic at Slate and NPR's Fresh Air. "Even her name is mythic. She's a magnificently sexual creature, (seems) a little nuts and isn't afraid to let her roles consume her. She makes you rejoice in the artifice of acting."

Her personality and unwillingness to be just another bland, by-the-numbers Hollywood starlet are just what make Jolie so appealing.

"Women identify with her because she seems smart and independent and empowered," Smith screenwriter Simon Kinberg says. "Men are attracted to her because she happens to be incredibly beautiful. And playful."

Adds Variety's Mike Speier: "She's got the danger quality. She's not a goody-goody. Yes, she adopted a baby, but she's not on TRL telling kids not to do drugs."

Talk to anyone who knows Jolie and you'll hear nearly identical descriptions of their first impressions: Without the buffer of a personal publicist, Jolie looks you straight in the eye, shakes your hand and asks about you.

"She's not a cold or divisive person," says Estée Lauder makeup artist Paul Starr, who has worked on Jolie since 1998's Gia and features her in his upcoming book, Paul Starr on Beauty: Conversations with Thirty Celebrated Women. "She comes in without an entourage. She's extremely professional and shows up three minutes before the call time. She knows her job."

As for her relationship with Pitt during the shoot, all say it was "professional," too. The two leads have largely stayed mum while promoting the film, save to praise each other as actors.

Still, in an interview last April, Pitt lamented that his co-star was misunderstood. "I've never seen someone so misperceived in the press," he said. "Jolie's really a delightful human being, a dedicated mother and really quite normal. (She's) dedicated to her work with the U.N. There's actually a real lightness to her."

Jolie doesn't dwell on the scuttlebutt about her sex life.

"The press can say I'm dating whomever, they can say whatever about my films, and it doesn't hurt anybody," she says in the July issue of Marie Claire magazine in an interview March 28. "But misinterpret something that has to do with refugees, and it could affect them in a bad way."

In the same interview, Jolie quashes tales of an on-set fling with Pitt, who was then still with his wife, Jennifer Aniston, who has since filed for divorce. "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father (actor Jon Voight) cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive," she said. "I could not, could not, look at myself in the morning if I did that."

Today, Jolie lives with Maddox outside London rather than in the Tinseltown celebrity fishbowl. She remains estranged from her father, who said on television that she has "extreme problems." When she's not jetting to refugee camps, Jolie pilots planes, gets tattoos and socializes with whomever she chooses, even if it risks tabloid attention. (In May, she had dinner with her first husband, Jonny Lee Miller, and their photos showed up in the tabs.) But by most accounts, her free time is dedicated to her U.N. work and Maddox.

Kinberg calls Jolie a "very hands-on" mom. "He's always around, and she's always with him."

When Maddox asked for spiky hair while attending the Venice Film Festival with Jolie last autumn, she obliged, recalls Vicky Jenson, who directed Jolie in last year's animated hit Shark Tale. Maddox is "a barnacle attached to her shoulder. She's very loving with him. She encouraged him to say 'Hi' to people but didn't push him. He'd get shy and hide under her hair."

The twice-divorced Jolie, on the other hand, never appears bashful. There she goes, posing with Pitt on the cover of the July issue of W magazine even as rumors about them reach a fever pitch.

Fortunately for her, Jolie never reads the tabloids that follow her life and loves, says Smith's Goldsman, and in fact knows nothing about pop culture. Instead, "she's more interested in the kind of books we read in high school and college and then stopped reading."

Jolie sat around on the set and hung out with the cast and crew between takes. "She doesn't gossip, and she's weirdly culturally removed," Goldsman says. "She doesn't waste her energy on silliness. You'll never find common ground with her based on what's on TV or what's in the tabloids."

And there's nothing understated about Jolie's beauty, from the bodacious lips to the cat-like eyes and eye-poppingly curvy body. Jolie is one of the very few celebrities who looks as good in person, if not better, than in airbrushed magazine photos. When she is on the red carpet, Jolie appears regal, composed — and slightly bored.

"I don't think she realizes how genetically blessed she is," says Marie Claire editor Rebecca Shalam, who has known Jolie for four years and has watched her get dirty with Maddox in the park. "I don't think she's aware of the effect she has on men and women. She's thinking about getting aid to Ethiopia and not necessarily about, 'Oh, are they going to say I have a 26-inch waist or do I need liposuction?' "

As a result, Shalam says, "people are fascinated by her confidence, her independence, her total lack of pretension, her genuine desire to help people who aren't in position to help themselves."

Shannon Boyd, manager of the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador and Special Events Programs, has worked with Jolie for four years and calls her "very engaged" and "courageous." The actress is in contact with the U.N. on a nearly daily basis, and as soon as her schedule opens, is willing to go on another mission, she says. "We treat her as a colleague. She sleeps on colleagues' sofas, and if all we have is a spare floor, she does that. She gets her half-liter of water to go on a long jeep ride in 100-degree weather if that's what everyone else has."

In addition to her 20-plus missions, Jolie has donated substantial amounts of money to the organization and "has paid her own way since day one," says Boyd.

But she's no ponderous pontificator you dread sitting next to at a dinner party.

"For someone as dedicated to very serious things in the world, she has the ability to really laugh," Kinberg says. "Her sense of humor is mature, sophisticated. She understands irony and has wryness and doesn't take herself that seriously. When you're working with her, you don't feel like you're working with Kofi Annan."

Excellent post. Of course only BP/AJ know what level of commitment they're choosing to make to what they've found, but I think these are two people who will always choose their family first, and inturn, that's going to keep them working to be keep what they've found, and stay together .

I just have a strong feeling that Angelina Jolie would gladly give up hollywood to be home with her kids, and her UN work. She said on Nightline how nice it had been just to be home with them, and trust me, once you get that feeling inside, it just gets hard to let it go and go back to work no matter what your profession....real hard lol. I don't think she'll stop making movies, but I think she wouldn't have a hard time leaving if she so chose. I remember Brad even saying once on Diane Sawyer that he thinks she just makes movies so she can give the money away lol.

As far as Brad is concerned, its beyond obvious that he's looking to move into other area's financially, and even his hollywood career seems to be moving to the background via producing. I think they have a very good chance of survial, I sincerely believe they will beat the "hollywood" odds.

It is an extremely long process and if you want to adopt a child from a different race the red tape is unbelivable, I lived thru it with my two friends. (April 4, 12:10PM ET) -- A Las Vegas business fiasco is causing trouble in a Hollywood A-list relationship, but this time it doesn't involve strippers or gambling.

We're told George Clooney is steamed that longtime pal Brad Pitt first backed out of a plan to join him in building a posh Las Vegas resort, only to turn around and set his sights on building a similar resort in Palm Springs.

The 'Ocean's Eleven' co-stars were investors in Las Ramblas, a $3 billion, 11-building complex off the Las Vegas Strip. But Pitt soon soured on the deal, leaving Clooney to partner with Cindy Crawford's club-owning husband, Rande Gerber.

"After Pitt left Clooney at the altar on the Vegas deal, it lost its steam and now the word around Vegas is that Las Ramblas is on its last legs," a Vegas insider tells TMZ. "So the idea that Brad's going to build his own hotel without George's help is quite the eye-opener."

Pitt has jetted to Germany twice recently to meet with a trio of award-winning architects he's hired to draw up plans for the as-yet unnamed, $60 million futuristic resort, WENN reports. Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Review-Journal says that Las Ramblas is on the verge of being sold to a new developer -- a report that a Las Ramblas spokesman has since denied.

"Clooney wants to run an old-school, black-tie formal resort in Las Vegas that harkens back to the Sinatra era, but Brad's more about being hip and more Hollywood-oriented, so that's the direction he's going with the plans in Palm Springs," the source says. "Industry types in Vegas always smirked at Clooney's plans, but Pitt's plan to tap into the young market makes more sense to them.

"The business deals gone bad will make for some cold shoulders on the set of 'Ocean's Thirteen,'" notes the source. The latest installment in the heist film series is slated to begin filming in Las Vegas in July.

Update: 2:10PM ET -- Stan Rosenfield, George Clooney's rep, tells TMZ "Brad Pitt was never committed" to the Las Ramblas project and called allegations that he backed out of the deal an "out and out fabrication." He also adds that any implication of "cold shoulders" on the set of the upcoming 'Ocean's Thirteen' are not true, and stressed that all the stars are committed to the project.

Dread diseases hit SA's starving kids

Three-quarters of all South Africans do not have enough food

Siphewe Mngomezulu, 6, is suffering from the effects of marasmus, a condition similar to kwashiorkor - right on the doorstep of one of South Africa's richest suburbs.

In Alexandra, Johannesburg - a mere 5km from the Sandton Convention Centre where the World Summit on Sustainable Development will start on August 26 - children like Siphiwe are suffering from chronic diseases usually associated with the famine-plagued Horn of Africa.

Siphiwe is the human face of a hidden epidemic. The facts are that:

# One in 10 infants in the former Transkei region die during their first 12 months, chiefly due to starvation, according to a Health Systems Trust study conducted last year;

# One in five South African children suffer from chronic malnutrition, according to Social Development Minister Dr Zola Skweyiya;

# Around 12 cases of marasmus or of kwashiorkor have been seen every month by one feeding scheme in Alexandra township;

# One in 10 children admitted to Africa's largest hospital, Soweto's Chris Hani Baragwanath, suffers from severe malnutrition, according to the head of community paediatrics, Dr Haroon Saloojee;

# Half of the 3 120 children surveyed in a national food consumption survey were found to have less than half the recommended level of nutrients such as calcium, iron and zinc; and

# About 75% of South Africans have inadequate access to food, according to a government estimation.

HIV/Aids and job losses have contributed massively to the number of starving children being admitted to hospitals.

The gaunt faces of Siphiwe, his four-year-old sister, Zandile, and baby sister, Nthombizodwa, are painful reminders of a losing battle against hunger.

Their father, Phakathi, 38, is employed as a part-time gardener, but with a household income of only R700 a month, seven mouths to feed and a 12-year-old to put through school, the children came down with marasmus.

A year after they started to receive food from the African Children's Feeding Scheme, the youngsters have picked up some weight, thanks to a diet of maize porridge and fruit. But they are mostly still skin and bones.

Betty Sithole, of the scheme's Alexandra branch, which feeds 317 children, said she had seen perhaps 10 cases of marasmus and one or two of kwashiorkor a month.

A recent study showed that only 20% of Alexandra's residents eligible for welfare grants, including child support grants, had signed up for them.

Saloojee said one in 10 children admitted to his hospital was suffering from severe malnutrition. He said the HIV/Aids epidemic was largely to blame for the problem, which had been virtually eliminated from urban areas in the early 1990s. "It has returned with a vengeance," he said.

Said Skweyiya: "Undernutrition among young children in our country is of major concern. It affects the growth, development and learning capacity of children, and hence the development of the country. There is no magic vaccine or tablet which can reduce malnutrition."

Meanwhile, the UN's World Food Programme has set up a regional logistical office in Johannesburg to co-ordinate efforts to combat the famine that is expected to affect more than 12 million people in Southern Africa - and escalate by December.

National food consumption figures contained in a joint report published last week by the Medical Research Council, the Health Department and the World Health Organisation show that more than one in five South African children are physically stunted due to malnutrition. Worst affected are younger children (one to three years of age) living in rural areas.

The findings of the survey have prompted the government to set up a committee to investigate fortifying staple foods such as maize.

A national food consumption survey, one of several studies contained in the report, found that only one out of four South African households were food-secure. In contrast, half of all households experienced hunger.

Researchers have recommended that the government modify existing supplementary food programmes to concentrate on providing more nutrient-rich food.

Malnutrition stunts many

A 1999 Health Department survey showed that 21.6% of all SA children between the ages of one and nine were stunted because of malnutrition, with acute wasting running at 3.7% in the same age group.

MARASMUS is caused by a severe lack of protein and calories. Its effects are:

# Children look like pot-bellied skeletons; and

# They have virtually no fat and little muscle on their bodies.

# KWASHIORKOR is caused by a severe lack of protein and nutrients. Its effects are:

# Children are sometimes mistaken for healthy as they are chubby, but they are, in fact, bloated;

# They lose appetite, often suffer diarrhoea and lose weight; and

# Their skin is dry and cracked and their hair is brittle and loses colour.

# Both conditions are potentially fatal. Short-term effects include:

# Listlessness and a short attention span;

# Dehydration;

# Hypothermia;

# Low blood-sugar levels;

# Potassium and magnesium deficiencies; and

# A susceptibility to bacterial infections.

# Long-term effects in survivors include:

# Stunted growth, making them susceptible to disease and early death;

# Learning and cognitive disabilities; and

# Delayed motor-skills development.

Can we all just do eachother a favor and not get into the race issue. This isn't about race anyway to me, it is about economics and the imbalance of economic power. Unfortunately their will alway be people who are richer and people who are poorer. To bag these issues into generalizations of Color, Creed,Race etc. is a waste of time compared to the enourmous and intricate diversity of individuals in the world. What needs to be continually acknowledged is the plight of those whose needs, regardless of their color or race that are dying. This is a quest for
saving lives not a race or a country. If it was China whose people & children were inflicted with these hardships, then we would all be talking of Asians. It's a mute point to play the race card, it's the LIFE card. Whoever is dying, starving, suffering.That is what should be the primary focus. Human Rights. Equality for all. Be a part of the solution and not the problem.

Malena-Poor sad Chin fans, knowing that Jen's golden time is SO OVER and she's headed for infomercials. They are so mad that the homely girl lost out to the pretty girl. They'll never forgive Brad for this. So their only recourse is to dump on BAMZ's skin, posture, expressions, clothes, parenting habits, travel preferences, shoes and hobbies. Poor sad Jen fans, nothing to live for except being bitter and resentful heh heh

Okay, new record. It took me 4 hours to wade through all the comments of people here. Many were hateful but most were wonderful. But do you know what set those haters off like a rocket?

It's the fact that Brad is acknowledging his kids and the forthcoming baby. That about puts more nails in the coffin that was his relationship with his ex. He was happily admitting to having embraced a new life with a new family and a new outlook. He had never been that open before and he seemed very content and optimistic about the future.

All the ex-wives (and believe me, these haters are putting themselves in the shoes of his real ex) are getting hysterical because here is the validation that they had been dreading. He doesn't even need to declare his love for Angelina. It is all in that interview. He calls them his kids, he's waiting for his baby to be born and it looks like he's staying put in the family circle that he and Angelina have created. Those are dagger thrusts in the chests of the ex-wives who are still hoping he would leave and come back to his old nest.

These women will grasp at any straw to justify their anger and jealousy. It's not that they adopted kids from other countries, it's that they had to adopt at all. That kind of puts another glue that have to be unstuck. Now that the baby is getting larger than life, getting closer to being the real seal to the deal, they are feeling more and more desperate. What would really drive them over the brink would be final I dos and the posting of the marriage certificate on the Internet. That and the happy couple with their baby and kids pictures plastered in all the mags and TV sets.

Time is running out so their hatred and their putrid comments are getting more insane. No matter. These two, Brad and Angie will ride it out because they have stronger convictions and are determined to be together.

Thanks the real tida, I was wondering why such nasty posts. you are so right . They know, if their not willing to say ,that Brad was and is a great person and father. And that JA will never have that again in her life. The haters post because they know JA is not in a better situation than she was before. I don't post on pictures of JA because I could care less about her and I know regardless to what happens to BAMZ Brad is in a better place w/out her.
