The always stunning Rachel Weisz hailed a taxi earlier on today around her Manhattan apartment in NYC.  Just last week, Rachel was in Memphis, TN filming scenes for her upcoming film, My Blueberry Nights, directed by Wong Kar Wai.  MBN also co-stars Norah Jones, Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, Ed Harris, and Kevin Spacey.  More pictures in the gallery of Rachel in hair rollers on the set of MBN in Memphis!

Racehel Weisz (Constantine, The Mummy, About A Boy) filmed parts of her upcoming movie, My Blueberry Nights, in Memphis, TN last week and over the weekend. My Blueberry Nights will be director Wong Kar-wai’s first English film and will star Norah Jones supported by Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Rachel Weisz, Ed Harris, and Kevin Spacey.

Here’s the film synopsis:

Based on a short film that Wong shot in Hong Kong, this sees a shopkeeper fall for a mysterious female client who eats blueberry pies. Jones stars as a young woman who travels across America to find the true meaning of love, encountering offbeat characters along the way.

The movie is supposed to be in the format of a "road movie", a description used for a film where the main setting/location is on the road and/or traveling.

The film does not have a solid release date yet, but it is scheduled to be released sometime in 2007.

New York, NY :: Sling back, sling back.  New mom Rachel Weisz was spotted carrying her (almost) one-month-old son Henry Chance Aronofsky in a denim baby sling this past Tuesday afternoon. The 35-year-old Oscar winner took the time to visit the set of My Blueberry Nights and chat with director Wong Kar Wai.  No word on when she’s schedule to head back to work but Rachel is set to star in My Blueberry Nights alongside Jude Law, Natalie Portman, and Norah Jones. Rachel gave birth to baby Henry — fathered by filmmaker fiancé Darren Aronofsky — on Wednesday, May 31st.  More pictures in the gallery including Norah Jones on set with WKW!

My Blueberry Nights directed by Wong Kar Wai started filming earlier this month, WKW’s first English language film.  Jude Law (seen in an apron above) looks to be playing a pizza parlor worker of sorts.   My Blueberry Nights also stars Norah Jones, Rachel Weisz, and Natalie Portman. Doubting Norah Jones‘ acting abilities?  WKW insists that Norah Jones is the perfect choice because of her acting aura: "Of course everyone knows her because she’s a singer, but I didn’t pick her for this film because she’s a very successful singer. I think she’s suitable for acting. This is instinct. It’s like how I felt that Faye Wong could act when I first saw her a few years ago. There’s a very special aura." Faye was a Chinese pop star who appeared in WKW’s movies Chungking Express and 2046. Kevin Spacey and Ed Harris are also expected to join the cast. More pictures in the gallery!
