In Crank, Jason Statham plays a professional killer who has been poisoned and must keep his adrenaline going in order to stay alive.  Needless to say, the film includes gratuitous drugs, sex, and violence.  And boy, loads of expletives.  Listen to the audio clip with YouTube below, it’s wildly ridiculous.  Somebody count how many times he curses! • Eva Longoria tells Playboy that before she was a star housewife she was turned down for a starring role in Dark Angel and Spanglish, and was fired from The Young and the Restless. • American Idol judge Simon Cowell has been caught cheating on Terri Seymour, his girlfriend of four years, with model Jasmine Lennard. Britain’s Daily Mirror spotted Lennard entering Cowell’s townhouse late Tuesday night and said she took off her fur coat to reveal lacy lingerie. The model was photographed leaving a few hours later. The affair has been going on for six months, according to the paper.
• American Idol’s  Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee, and the rest of last season’s Top 10 are visiting with President Bush at the White House today.  They are the first contestants from the hit show to be invited to the White House.

Haylie Duff (pictured with the bouffant wig) started her run on Broadway last night in Hairspray as the snotty Amber Von Tussle.  Aaron Tveit also started performances yesterday as the fellow nicest kid in town Link Larkin.  Haylie, 21, sister Hilary, and the rest of the Hairspray cast celebrated the night away at The Palm West restaurant. The Palm’s GM Chris Gilman said, "Haylie was delightful … and a most welcomed addition to our Broadway community."    More pictures in the gallery! 

UPDATE :: I had the whole "Haylie Duff Experience" last night.  I ate at The Palm West restaurant (Audrey and I shared the 5 lb. lobster and it was AMAZING) and got to see Hairspray again.  Amazing as usual. I listen to the soundtrack all the time, so I sang along this time.  And if I was allowed to stand in the aisles, I would have danced all of the choreography too.  Haylie did a medicore job filling the role of Amber… the dancing definitely needed a lot more work. On a side note,  I really missed Diana DeGarmo in the role of Penny Pingleton…  Caissie Levy didn’t seem as gawky to me.  Anyway, buy your tickets now or wait until Diana returns on September 8th.

Brad Pitt has committed to star in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button about a man who hits age 50 and begins aging backward. Complications ensue when he falls in love with a woman of 30. Button will likely start production late Fall 2006.

Brad is also considering Universal’s "State of Play," the Americanized adaptation of the acclaimed British miniseries which Matthew Carnahan is writing. Brad is interested in playing a journalist and former campaign manager of a fast-rising politician who unravels a murder conspiracy involving his former boss.

Longtime couple Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz are still going strong, taking a vacation in Mexico with kids they both apparently know.  Nieces?  Nephews? Britney’s illegitimate children? Justin, 25, and Cameron, 33, have been dating for over three years now.

Ryan Rankine and Allison Holker were eliminated from last night’s results show of So You Think You Can Dance.  Busta Rhymes performed "I Love My Chick" off his latest album "The Big Bang."
