Skater Nancy Kerrigan’s father, Daniel Kerrigan, who passed away late last month, will have his death treated as a homicide, investigators say.
The Middlesex, Mass. D.A.’s office released a statement today saying, “The Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was cardiac dysrhytmia following a physical altercation with neck compression causing injury to the neck in the form of a cartilage fracture to the larynx area, in a person with hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular heart disease” (via People).
Early reports indicated that Daniel, 70, and his son, Mark, 45, had an altercation over using the phone. Mark was charged with assault and battery in late January.
Nancy’s mother, Brenda, said last month that her husband died of a heart attack and that she didn’t think anything suspicious had happened.
Our deepest condolences go out to Nancy and her loved ones.

Katherine Heigl is attached to star in One for the Money, based on the Janet Evanovich novel of the same name.
The film would star Katherine as Stephanie Plum, a jobless lingerie buyer who becomes a bounty hunter to pay the bills.
The Plum series currently consists of 15 novels, with a 16th being released this summer.
According to Variety, the project has been in limbo for several years, with Reese Witherspoon originally attached to star.

Jack Bauer will take on baddies on the big screen in a 24 movie, according to reports.
Twentieth Century Fox’s TV and film studios have hired writer Billy Ray (who also wrote State of Play) to write a script for the feature film version of the popular TV show.
According to Variety, the idea Billy pitched has Jack Bauer headed to Europe!
Kiefer Sutherland is said to be “eager” to turn the show into a film.
There isn’t a deal yet for a ninth season of the show - Variety insiders say that it’s likely that this season will be last unless ratings shoot upward.

Anne Hathaway is picture-perfect in Bottega Veneta on the cover of InStyle magazine’s March 2010 issue.
Here’s what the 27-year-old Alice in Wonderland actress had to share with the mag:
On her appearance: “I think I’ve got really weird features. I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up… I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.”
On playing the White Queen: “When I found out Tim Burton was on, I basically went into the studio and said, ‘I’m here, I want to play the White Queen. I’m just letting you know I will do anything to be in this movie.’”
On planning: “I don’t time anything. I never plan an image I want to project. It’s always very much where I am right now.”

The first picture of Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady’s son, Benjamin Brady, has been released.
The photo was published in the Brazilian magazine Quem (makes sense since Gisele is from Brazil). So adorable!
Gisele has talked about childbirth with Brazilian TV show Fantastico. She shared, “[It] wasn’t painful, not even a little bit. The whole time, my head was so focused — every contraction, the baby is closer, the baby is closer. So, it wasn’t like, ‘Oh, what pain.’ It was, ‘With every contraction, he is getting closer to me.’ “

Katie Holmes bundles up as she walks through New York City on Tuesday (February 9).
The 31-year-old actress kept warm with a cozy hat and matching long scarf as she made her way through the city.
Katie is in a much chillier climate than she was in over the weekend - she, hubby Tom Cruise and daughter Suri visited Miami for the Super Bowl on Sunday!
Tom and Katie also attended a pre-Super Bowl party hosted by Creative Arts Agency before heading to the big game!
