Oscar-winning scribe, Milk writer Dustin Lance Black, enjoys a cup of coffee with a friend in West Hollywood on Wednesday (February 25).
The 34-year-old screenwriter accepted the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay on Sunday. His acceptance speech was censored in fifty different Asian nations by pan-Asian satellite TV network STAR, which is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation.
STAR spokeswoman Jannie Poon defended the network’s muting of the words “gay” and “lesbian” by saying STAR has “a responsibility to take the sensitivities and guidelines of all our markets into consideration.”
Here’s Dustin’s uncensored speech in its entirety: “This was was not an easy film to make. First off, I have to thank Cleve Jones and Anne Kronenberg and all the real-life people who shared their stories with me. Gus Van Sant, Sean Penn, Emile Hirsch, Josh Brolin, James Franco and our entire cast, my producers Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen, everyone at Groundswell and Focus for taking on the challenge of telling this life-saving story. When I was 13-years-old, my beautiful mother and my father moved me from a conservative Mormon home in San Antonio, Texas to California, and I heard the story of Harvey Milk. And it gave me hope. It gave me the hope to live my life. It gave me the hope one day I could live my life openly as who I am and then maybe even I could even fall in love and one day get married.

Jennifer Aniston gives a little smirk as she leaves Italian restaurant La Stresa in Paris, France on Wednesday (February 25).
The 40-year-old actress is in town promoting her latest dramedy, Marley and Me.
Jen’s boyfriend, John Mayer, recently told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview why the couple decided to make the Oscars their first major public event together. He shared, “At some point, you feel comfortable and say this is the choice I want to make. I think a year is a pretty good period of time with which to say, ‘Let’s go have a really good time at the Oscars!’”
After the interview, Mayer hilariously blogged, “Interviews with Seacrest are like flooring it in a golf cart: you’re not going fast enough to do any real damage, but you still hold tight.”

Newly engaged actress Rachel Bilson dons a floral Brian Reyes top and a tassled Zac Posen bag as she visits a friend at Main Street’s Piero Hair Salon on Wednesday (February 25) in Santa Monica, Calif.
The 27-year-old O.C. starlet flashed her engagement ring, which actor Hayden Christensen gave to her over the holidays.
When recently asked what her favorite and and least favorite thing about Fashion Week was, Rachel said, “You go blind with all the flashes, but it’s the price you have to pay to see beautiful clothes. I just love seeing everything firsthand, there’s nothing better.”

Zac Efron and Friday the 13th actress Danielle Panabaker grab lunch together at Hugo’s Restaurant in West Hollywood on Tuesday (February 24).
Zac and Danielle (both 21) starred in WB’s Summerland in 2004. Danielle’s younger sister Kay played Zac’s love interest on the show.
I ran into Danielle again at the Hollywood Life Oscar Viewing Party held at Mondrian Hotel’s Asia De Cuba restaurant on Sunday (February 22) in West Hollywood.
FYI: Danielle was not cast as Ariel in the remake of Footloose, which Zac will be headlining as Ren McCormack.

LIP-SMACKING GOOD
Scary Spice Melanie Brown takes care of a sticky finger situation after a quick bite to eat in Los Angeles on Wednesday (February 25).
The 33-year-old former Spice Girl then headed off for an afternoon music lesson and then lunch with husband, Stephen Belafonte (pictured below).
I ran into the gorgeous Mel B. and her charming Stephen at the Hollywood Life Oscar Viewing Party held at Mondrian Hotel’s Asia De Cuba restaurant on Sunday (February 22) in West Hollywood. The couple was familiar with JJ and talked about my blog having “positivity. There’s enough negativity in the world!” Mel also said she had a “great time” at the Leeza Gibbons Oscar Viewing Party they had just went to at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills.

Kate Walsh describes herself as funny, willful, and a troublemaker in the March 2009 edition of Redbook magazine. The 41-year-old Private Practice star opens up about her mischievous childhood, guilty indulgences, and about her 15-month marriage to Alex Young:
On her life as a kid: “Well, my parents divorced when I was 7. My mom went back to work, so I spent a lot of time alone and learned to be very independent. We moved a lot, and I made friends wherever I went. I got A’s, B’s, and then U’s — “unsatisfactory” — in citizenship… I was being talkative, acting out in class. There was a time in seventh grade when I would do anything on a dare. My friend dared me to dance on a teacher’s desk with a rose in my mouth, and I did it. That’s why I am an actor, probably!”
On being Italian and Irish and loving to eat and drink: “We have a lovely wine cellar at home, and I can cook. I love to make pasta. We all love food. We yell and scream and are lots of fun at a dinner party.”
On her divorce: “I don’t think anyone gets married thinking that they will get divorced. We certainly did not. Alex and I still care for each other, and I wish him nothing but the best. The silver lining to this, however, is that I have a wonderful family and a great group of friends who really showed their support and encouragement, and for that I am truly grateful.”

Chris Pine talks about his character Captain Kirk at the Star Trek press conference held at Apgujeon CGV on Wednesday (February 25) in Seoul, South Korea.
Said the 28-year-old actor, “I began watching the original series pretty feverishly cause I knew I only had a limited amount of time to prepare for the role and after getting half way through the first and second season I wasn’t doing myself any favors by trying to pick up on the mannerisms of William Shatner (who played Kirk in the original series) and the minutiae of the Star Trek world. I would have created a character that was more impersonation than an original incarnation. [Director JJ Abrams] ’s prescription for realizing the role and this goes for all of us- was to create our own and not worry too much about obeying the laws of the original Star Trek world.”

Anne Hathaway keeps it casual in a red neck scarf as she checks into Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport on Tuesday (February 24) in Phoenix, Arizona
Over the weekend, the 26-year-old actress joined her older brother Michael Hathaway for the cocktail reception at Parmigiani Watches and Sony Cierge Oscar Nominee Dinner Party at Cecconi’s in Los Angeles. Anne received a Sony Book Reader as a congratulations for her nomination. She wore Armani Prive on the red carpet at the Oscars.
Tidbit: Anne wanted to become a nun but at the age of fifteen she decided not to after learning that Michael was gay.
