Host Neil Patrick Harris keeps close to longtime love David Burtka held at the 2009 Emmy Awards at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday (September 20).

The Emmy Awards averaged 13.3 million total viewers, up 1.1 million versus last year’s ratings (the least-watched Emmys ever). The LA Times even said the ceremony “should serve as a playbook for all award shows to come.” Seems like CBS will be asking NPH to host once more!

Christina Applegate shines at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday (September 20) in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old actress donned a gorgeous navy silk charmeuse gown with a draped front and lace details from Basil Soda. She accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

After the ceremony, Christina tweeted, “Yay!!! Pizza time, people!”

Tina Fey and fellow NBC star Mariska Hargitay get chummy on the red carpet at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre on Sunday (September 20) in Los Angeles.

The 39-year-old 30 Rock star donned Fred Leighton diamonds and a Gucci gown. The back of the gown features a green and crystal jeweled brooch. The look was completed with Gucci sasso sequined evening shoes. Tina and the cast of 30 Rock picked up an Emmy for Best Comedy Series.

The 45-year-old Law and Order: SVU star shined in a silver Carolina Herrera gown, paired with Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutin shoes.
