• Mel Gibson appeared on the Leno yesterday and made light of his battle with booze, but never mentioned his DUI and anti-Semitic tirade. Mel nibbled on a cookie at the beginning of the interview and joked that the treat was a reward from someone backstage for staying sober. “He told me if I could walk a straight line, I could have a cookie,” he said.
• Courtney Cox thinks a Friends reunion may be in the works: “I’m just saying I’m not opposed to it. Jennifer (Aniston) said she’s not opposed to it. When we say ‘reunion’… do a little thanksgiving episode, sure…why not what are we all doing? It sounds fun.”
• Rebecca Romijn joined the cast of Ugly Betty playing the mysterious masked woman working with Wilhelmina (Vanessa Williams).

• Britney Spears took a night off from being a full-time mom last week to catch a Pussycat Dolls performance at Pure in Las Vegas. She and a pal stayed out until 1 a.m.

• Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures are parting ways. The studio will sever its 14-year relationship with Cruise’s film production company because "his recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." "It’s nothing to do with his acting ability, he’s a terrific actor.  But we don’t think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot." Cruise’s partner, Paula Wagner said their company has already obtained commitments from two hedge funds, whose names would be announced soon.
• Star reports that George Clooney and Ellen Barkin are an item, saying the two got close while filming on the set of Ocean’s 13.
• Us Weekly reports that Eddie Murphy is about to pop the question to former Spice Girl Melanie Brown.  A source says, "They are already living together at Eddie’s house," and"Each got a tattoo of the other’s name."  Um, barf?

34-year-old actress Mary Lynn Rajskub, widely worshiped as 24’s resident computer geek Chloe O’Brian, made a guest spot on last week’s season finale of Gilmore Girls.  She sang a song on the streets of Stars Hollow, Connecticut à la "Smelly Cat" from Friends‘ Phoebe.  Here are the hilarious song lyrics –
