Alex Pettyfer ponders a few thoughts as he sits on the toilet in this shoot for In Their Youth, a book of 200 portraits by celeb photographer Greg Gorman.

In Their Youth is comprised of photos of famous actors shot when they were unknowns in their teens and early twenties - Jared Leto has three pages dedicated to him, while Leonardo DiCaprio is the subject of the first seven photos.

The end of the book features seven photos of Alex.

In the introduction, Greg said, “More recently, I’ve been photographing a young actor named Alex Pettyfer. We have a photographic relationship that’s spontaneous and connected, in which we provoke, push and disturb each other into creating strong images.

“We play off each other in a symbiotic relationship that allows great work to develop. And that’s why I call Alex a muse of mine, and why I wanted to close the book on those pictures, which showcase some of my most recent work.”

Alex Pettyfer flaunts his washboard abs in the latest issue of VMAN, on stands next week.

The 19-year-old actor, who is part of the new generation of British talent, stars in the upcoming Beastly, a modern interpretation of Beauty and the Beast. Alex plays the Beast, complete with a scarred face and facial tattoos.

Alex shared, “I’m in every scene, which meant six and a half hours in prosthetics every day.” As for co-starring alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Mary-Kate Olsen, he smirked, “I was a very lucky guy.”

Mary-Kate Olsen and twin sister Ashley (pictured below) attends the premiere of The Hangover at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Tuesday (June 2) in Hollywood.

Mary-Kate starts shooting her new teen romancer, Beastly, on June 13 in Montreal. The 22-year-old actress is joining British actor Alex Pettyfer and High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens in the retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in modern-day New York.

According to Variety, MK’s character places a curse on a handsome egocentric young man, to be portrayed by Pettyfer, who’s physically transformed into everything he despises.

Mischa Barton (in Temperley London) parties at the launch party for the Burberry: The Beat for Men fragrance at The Viper Room in Los Angeles on Friday (March 13).

At the event co-hosted by GQ, the 23-year-old actress joined Burberry-clad Liv Tyler (with GQ West Coast Editor Chris Huvane), Lipstick Jungle hunk Robert Buckley, British actor Alex Pettyfer, and indie rock band Cold War Kids, who gave a special live performance.

Mischa told People at the event that she joined the cast of a new CW show, A Beautiful Life, produced by Ashton Kutcher.

“Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model (Sonia) from Iowa, so it’s about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I’m used to being around a lot of people in that,” Mischa shared. “[I play] a bitchy model-type character, like it’s a totally different character for me.”

Up and coming British teen actor Alex Pettyfer is rumored to star in The Mummy 3!

Pettyfer, 17, starred in the limited release of Stormbreaker last year co-starring Ewan McGregor. He is now up for the role of Alex O’Connell, the son of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz’s characters in The Mummy films.

Fraser will return for but very, very, very unfortunately Rachel Weisz pulled out, reports Variety. Jet Li is set to take on the role of the villian. Michelle Yeoh is also in talks to join the cast.

The Mummy 3, aka Mummy: Curse of the Dragon, will be set in China and has a tentative release date of July 18, 2008. The movie will be directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) and the script penned by Smallville creators Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.
