America (in Nanette Lepore) has admitted, “I crack up the most, and I am kind of useless when I am behind the camera if anybody else is in front of the camera, because if they are doing something funny, I can’t contain it. I am the worst. I make them do like 50 takes.” America also wore an Etro sweater, Christian Louboutin shoes and Kaviar and Kind jewelry.

America Ferrera stays classic in a black Halo dress and Lanvin shoes at the 2nd Annual Hot In Hollywood event held at the Los Angeles Henry Fonda Music Box Theatre on Saturday.

Launched by a group of entertainment industry professionals in 2006, “Hot in Hollywood” raises funds for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, a non-profit organisation that provides HIV/Aids medical care, prevention education and testing services to peope at risk of and living with HIV/AIDS in the US.

Ugly Betty returns with all-new episodes on Sept. 27. Season 2 kicks off with episode “How Betty Got Her Grieve Back.”

A man on the set of Ugly Betty was passing through when he accidentally stumbled over a cable used by the set crew. The accident resulted in a bloody injury to the head and the poor guy had to be taken away in an ambulance!

America Ferrera, who plays the character of Betty Suarez in Ugly Betty, witnessed the dramatic accident from her director’s chair. She filmed a scene that day with an eye patch, sitting on a “bus stop bench” when a pigeon lands on her shoulder and starts pecking at her.

America, 23, also filmed scenes for Ugly Betty this past weekend in a park in downtown Los Angeles with co-star Eric Mabius (Daniel Meade). Betty seemed to be burying or digging up something while Daniel sat debilitated in a wheelchair.

Ugly Betty returns this fall with season two and a new cast member: Freddy Rodriguez (Grindhouse).
