New York, NY :: American Idol season five runner-up Katharine McPhee, 22, has been spotted around SoHo the last few days walking hand in hand with her 41-year-old boyfriend Nick Cokas, who also has a stage career. Nick is originally from San Francisco but currently lives in Los Angeles (like Katharine). He graduated from UCLA and his Broadway credits include Blood Brothers, Guys & Dolls, Mamma Mia and Once Upon a Mattress.   More pictures in the gallery!

WOWOWOWOW.  Both Beyoncé and Taylor Hicks belted out a couple songs for Wal-Mart shareholders in Bentonville, Arkansas, this morning.  Eat THAT, Costco! Below you can watch bootylicious Beyoncé perform "Crazy in Love". EXCELLENT performance as usual. Below that is a link to both of their entire performances.  Lee Scott, President and CEO of Wal-Mart, said that after Taylor Hicks‘ performance, he met with the merchandising people and they doubled the order of his CD. Taylor Hicks occasionally rips his own performances, especially his rendition of John Denver’s "Take Me Home, Country Roads." "I saw that clip and thought to myself, ‘Man you are flat all the way through that song." Though he admits that he sometimes spent Tuesday night after the show at Burger King voting for himself, he also cast a few for his competitors. "I’d vote on the performance as opposed to who I liked as an artist," he says. "I voted for Elliot, for Chris a couple of times, for Katharine. It was funny because we’d be in the apartment or somewhere and I’m like, ‘I’m voting for you, you know.’ And they’re like, ‘What?’"

As the weeks passed until the May 24 American Idol finale, Taylor Hicks‘ gray-haired, dorky-dancing image became as much a part of his appeal as his fantastic, soul-shouting vocals.  However, his newfound fans might be surprised to learn that Hicks, 29, was a hunky, basketball-playing ladies’ man at his Hoover, Ala., high school!

Taylor Hicks will release his first single, "Do I Make You Proud" on June 13th. "Takin’ It To The Streets" is also on the CD’s track listing.  You can pre-order it from Amazon.  Taylor’s self-produced album, "Under The Radar" is also selling well. SOUL PATROL!!!!!!! Salt and pepper haired soul singer Taylor Hicks, 29, from Birmingham, Alabama, was crowed the fifth season American Idol winner last night as expected. Host Ryan Seacrest mentioned that "an astounding 63.4 million votes" were cast, "more than any President in this country has ever received." Many more pictures from the finale in the gallery!
