Anderson Cooper & Ben Maisani: Rambagh Palace Pair

Anderson Cooper and pal Antoine “Ben” Maisani were spotted together at the Rambagh Palace hotel on Tuesday (October 27) in Jaipur, India.

The 42-year-old CNN host is staying at a $3,200-a-night room at the Rambagh Palace, which is one of the world’s most opulent hotels and named the best hotel in the world by Conde Nast Traveler.

A Page Six source says, “Anderson’s room has a large round bathtub. On the first night it was filled with bubbles and sprinkled with red rose petals.”

Maisani is an owner of East Village bar Eastern Bloc and was spotted biking with Anderson back in June.

CNN recently fell to last place in ratings for prime-time programs.

Anderson Cooper: Biking Buddies, Butt Tweeting

CNN host Anderson Cooper and pal Antoine Maisani, aka Ben, wear matching Fred Perry polos and take their matching mountain bikes for a ride around Manhattan’s Greenwich Village on Friday afternoon (June 26).

The 42-year-old Silver Fox must be having a bumpin’ time tonight. Two hours ago, he tweeted two consecutive nonsensical messages on his Twitter account @AndersonCooper: “IOiu” and “Y”.

Since butt-dialing exists, is there such a thing as butt-tweeting? Butt-twittering?

Anderson Cooper Hit Studio 54 With Michael Jackson

On Thursday night’s episode of Anderson Cooper 360, CNN dream host Anderson Cooper shared about the first time he met Michael Jackson.

The 42-year-old Silver Fox shared, “When I was 10, for some odd reason, I went to [disco epicenter] Studio 54 with Michael Jackson and a bunch of people. I had no idea who he was. I saw him dance, and I was like, ‘Oh, he’s a good dancer.’”

Coop continued, “Why I was at Studio 54 is a whole other story. Child welfare will want to talk to my mom [Gloria Vanderbilt] about that.”

Of course, Anderson did not dance with Michael! (He has refused to dance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Live with Regis and Kelly.)

Check out the vid of Coop talking Michael below!

Anderson Cooper: Teach Me Twitter!

Silver Fox Anderson Cooper hosts CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360° and reports for 60 Minutes. He’s also CNN’s Mr. New Year’s Eve. Here are some highlights from the 41-year-old’s latest interview with LA Times:

On not having a personal Twitter: “I think I do have a Twitter feed! I’m not as Twitter-friendly as [CNN anchor/correspondent] Rick Sanchez. He seems to be tweeting and twittering. I’m hoping he’ll give me a lesson on it someday” (See: Rick Sanchez’s Twitter and Anderon Cooper 360’s Twitter)

On not starting his own website: “I’m not that computer-savvy. And, uh, I dunno! I like the immediacy of television. I like going to a frontline, I like going to a story. I like the immediacy and impact of it. There’s a real global impact with CNN… It’s not really about mass distribution. It’s more about just telling stories that affect people’s lives. . . . There’s a lot of opportunities at CNN that if I had a little website somewhere I don’t think I could take part in.”

Anderson Cooper Talks To Will.I.Am Via Hologram

CNN host Anderson Cooper, aka Silver Fox, interviewed musician/producer Will.i.am. via hologram during last night’s election coverage from CNN’s Election Center.

The technology included around 44 high-definition cameras that take a real-time, three-dimensional image of a person live!

Coop started off saying, “Will.i.am, I want to thank you for being with us via hologram tonight.”

CNN certainly showed what news coverage will be like in the future. Nifty. Watch the video below!

Anderson Cooper Has The ‘Best Life’

CNN’s dreamy host Anderson Cooper (in Ralph Lauren Black Label) is the latest cover boy for Best Life magazine, out Oct. 21. Here are some great quotes from the 41-year-old via USA Today:

Best way to prepare for a trip: “I pack virtually nothing.”

Best place to carry a passport: “My passport is a mess. I carry it in my front pocket, so it’s all bent. But I know where it is at all times. I find those pouches ridiculous.”

Best DVD for a long flight: “The Professional is one of my favorite movies. Gary Oldman is so great in it. I watch and rewatch it.”

Best cure for jet lag: “Whenever you have free time, sleep. I’ve found you can usually work round the clock for four or five days, and then you collapse in a pool of your own filth. But for five days, you can do anything.”

Best food for the road: “I travel with a lot of PowerBars and foil packs of crackers and tuna. They get better the farther you are from other food sources.”

Best rule to eat safely: “I hate being sick overseas, so I’m very careful. I stick with chicken, rice, and beans. I don’t get very adventurous.”

Best writers for a journey: “David Sedaris. Augusten Burroughs. Cormac McCarthy. I really liked The Road. I tend to read something that’s a complete diversion from what I’m doing.”

Best way to relax: “No TV, no radio, no iPod…just sit in a place without any external stimulant, have a cold drink, and be calm. Be present where you are.”

Best drink for that: “Nothing beats an ice-cold Coke in a glass bottle.”
