The Associated Press just published that Angelina Jolie will be adopting her next child from Vietnam with her partner Brad Pitt. (It was reported by US Weekly last month.)

According to Vu Duc Long, the director of Vietnam’s International Adoption Agency, Angie has tfiled papers to adopt a Vietnamese child, the country’s top adoption official said Friday.

Said Long, “She just filed the papers this week.”

“We consider her like any other American who wants to adopt children from Vietnam. She is not yet married so the file was from her individually. It will take a few months for us to consider this,” he added.

A source close to Angie said, “The process began shortly after Shiloh was born. It has been a long process and she is now simply waiting for further information.”

Brad and Angie have three children — Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 9 months.

Maddox was adopted from Cambodia, Zahara was born adopted from Ethiopia, and baby Shiloh was born to the couple in Namibia.

Brad and Angie spent Thanksgiving in Vietnam, where they visited the Tam Binh orphanage, on the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City. Thanks, NM!

Baby Shiloh and Maddox enjoy a quaint carriage ride on Tuesday afternoon in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Babysitting Shiloh, 9 months, and Maddox, 5, were grandma Jane Pitt and Angelina’s assistant and friend, Holly Goline.

Noticeably missing was Zahara, 2, who went on a stroller ride with Shiloh just the other day accompanied by Grandma Pitt.

Brad Pitt was probably busy at work filming The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie was recently seen at an Oure-Cassoni camp in eastern Chad.

And apparently, according to the carriage, call 943-8820 for a good time!

In Jolie news, United Nations Goodwill Ambassador Angelina touched down in Africa yesterday to monitor and raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan.

Angie will be visiting refugee camps about two miles from the border of Sudan for the next few days.

This is Angie’s first trip there since 2004.

Angelina Jolie is being admitted to become a member of the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations. Angelina, 31, will soon be rubbing elbows with other club members of the exclusive, Manhattan-based foreign-policy group including Dick Cheney, Condoleezza Rice, Henry Kissinger, Colin Powell, and Alan Greenspan.

International-affairs professor Dr. Gordon Adams says “Bring her on. The idea of having Henry Kissinger and Angelina Jolie in the same organization is dazzling.”

US Weekly is reporting that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have filed paperwork with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration services to adopt a boy from the Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Brad and Angie spent Thanksgiving in Vietnam back in November 2006.

The couple have three children — Maddox, 5, Zahara, 2, and Shiloh, 9 months.

Maddox was born in Cambodia, Zahara was born in Ethiopia, and baby Shiloh was born in Namibia.

In tabloid news, UK’s Grazia magazine is reporting that Brad and Angelina are seeking marriage counseling but are determined to work through their problems for the sake of their three children, adopted Maddox and Zahara, and their biological daughter Shiloh.

“This year is crux time. They have to reach a decision on what they expect from each other - and fast. Angelina has to realize Brad needs stability and Brad has to come to terms with her driving ambition as a world ambassador.

“Brad’s family are blown away marriage didn’t happen a long time ago. But Angelina doesn’t want to put down roots and turn into a ‘homemaker’.

“Her late mother had a lot to do with Angelina’s decision to have counselling. Marcheline made her realize it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to give marriage a go.

“They have had some serious disagreements but Brad and Angelina agree that they don’t want to make any more mistakes, particularly now there are three precious little lives involved.

“This wasn’t the case in their previous marriages. The stakes are much higher than when they were childless.”
