Anne Hathaway Sprays Fire Extinguisher

Golden Globe nominee (and possibly winner) Anne Hathaway appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and spoke about seeking revenge against Meryl Streep, babysitting young girls in France from a closet, and plans to attend President-elect Barack Obama’s inauguration with hopes of babysitting his daughters.

The 26-year-old actress also shared that her New Year’s resolution is to do something new every day. After going through a list of items host Jimmy Kimmel offered to help her complete, she grabbed a fire extinguisher and blew out a candlelit cake.

Anne’s newest rom-com Bride Wars is in theaters today!

Anne Hathaway Wins Best Actress At 2009 Critics Choice Awards

Anne Hathaway poses with her award for Best Actress in the press room during VH1’s 2009 Critics’ Choice Awards held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on January 8 (Thursday) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 26-year-old actress rocked out a black-and-white Gianfranco Ferre dress. Anne finished off her look with Brian Atmood peep-toes and Cartier jewels.

“As long as a designer makes pretty dresses, I should still be in business,” Anne told USA Today. “And I love this one so much because it’s like two dresses in one.”

Anne and Meryl Streep tied for best actress for Rachel Getting Married and Doubt respectively.

The most touching part of her acceptance speech is when she thanked her father. She said, “[I want to thank my dad] who protects me and has shown me that there are good men in this world and lets me know everyday that I am worthy of the love of good people.” (She’s referring to her convict ex-boyfriend.)

Anne added backstage, “Meryl is my idol. To win with my idol who I was nominated against is amazing. I’m so thrilled for her and I’m very thrilled for myself, too.”

Anne Hathaway Wins Golden Globe?

Anne Hathaway just might have won herself a Golden Globe!

Earlier today on the awards show’s website, GoldenGlobes.org, a star indicating Rachel Getting Married’s Anne won was accidentally published next to her name under the category “Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama”.

The website has since been corrected. A rep for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association has not commented on the flub just yet.

Anne was up against Angelina Jolie (Changeling), Meryl Streep (Doubt), Kristin Scott Thomas (I’ve Loved You So Long) and Kate Winslet (Revolutionary Road). Congrats, Anne! Maybe.

The Golden Globes airs live this Sunday @ 8PM ET/PT on NBC.

Anne Hathaway to Obama: Why Rick Warren?

On Tuesday, Anne Hathaway was interviewed on the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala.

E! asked what she expected of President-elect Barack Obama in the New Year.

Said Anne, who has a gay brother, “I expect him to explain that choice of [Orange County mega-pastor] Rick Warren [to give the inauguration prayer]. I don’t get it. All my friends and I were trying to figure it out, but we just can’t. So I’d love that. Other than that, I expect nothing but the best.”

Kate Hudson is Bride Wars Beautiful

Kate Hudson arrives in a knock-out Oscar de la Renta dress at the Bride Wars Premiere at AMC Loews Lincoln Square in New York City on Monday night.

The 29-year-old actress talks about dating and being single in the latest Elle magazine:

On being boy crazy: “When I was a teenager, like, when I turned 16, I loved boys. That was just my thing. My mom was like, ‘Oh boy, she loves boys!’ I always loved boys. I still love boys. First of all, I always had a boyfriend. This is the first time I’ve been single since I was 16!”

On dating: “I’ve been on so many bad dates. I went on one where I just left because he was so boring. I felt really bad, and I didn’t want him to pay for dinner. It’s like, ‘It’s really nice to meet you’ – moving on! Then you call your friend and you’re like, ‘Really? Really? Is that who you think I would have a great night with?!’”

Anne Hathaway & Adam Shulman: Still Going Strong

Anne Hathaway and her new boyfriend, Adam Shulman, are getting serious!

When the couple arrived together at New York’s JFK Airport on Dec. 11, Adam revealed to Life & Style, “I’m here to see family.”

But first the two stopped at Anne’s Manhattan apartment.

“My friend’s staying with me,” Anne told her doorman, according to an eyewitness.

In addition to hanging out in NYC, the Bride Wars star, 26, and her actor beau, 27, have been spending time in Adam’s hometown of LA, where Anne has a rental house.

“She’s insisted that Adam sleep with her in her big house every night she’s there,” says an insider. “It’s not really because she’s afraid to be alone — she says she just really loves to see his face.”

Anne Hathaway Covers Modern Bride

Bride Wars stars Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson cover the February/March 2009 issue of Modern Bride. Interview highlights ahead!

Kate on the most important things to keep in mind when planning a wedding: “Number one: Make sure you’re ready to get married, that you’re really sure you want to do this. And number two, I would say really good placement of the bar! At a wedding you want to have a good time. Have special cocktails that are really fun for people.”

Anne on how her real-life drunk dancing experience helped her with dancing scenes in Bride Wars: “My drunken shenanigans? I ‘d love to say that I have absolutely no experience in humiliating myself with drunken dancing in public, but unfortunately that’s not the case…”

On the pressure for a bride to look perfect on her wedding day: “I gave up my struggle with perfection a long time ago. The day is about a lot more. But if your lifestyle is not as healthy as it should be, and it’s motivation to try something new, maybe that’s for the best. I know Kate would advise everyone to take a pole-dancing class!”

On what songs would make her wedding playlist: ““Maps” by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, “Walken” by Wilco and “You Are the Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. That’s going to be, like, the number-one wedding song for the next 25 years! Trust me…””

On her fave real-life wedding moment: “My older brother got married a couple years ago. At one point, he and his husband were standing up there, and my mom got up to sing. She was just beaming straight love into them, and everyone felt it, and it was just this really beautiful moment. When Mike and Josh booked the place, it was before daylight saving time, and the sun was pretty high up in the sky. Now it was at eye level, and it was blinding! Burn-your-retina bright! We sent my cousin’s boyfriend down to Canal Street with $250 to buy as many sunglasses as he could, and we put them on every other seat. Everybody just put on their sunglasses, and we have some great pictures of that! It’s all about crisis management, isn’t it?”
