Ashley Olsen is red, white and blue chic on the the latest July 4th cover of Hamptons magazine. Here’s what the 23-year-old Olsen Twin opened up about:

On wanting to be left alone: “I’ve definitely had a past life of being a personality, and a very public one. But that’s not what makes me comfortable. I’m not an actress. I’m not a public figure or acting as one.”

On leaving the door open for acting again: “Never, say never.”

On her fashion label with Mary-Kate: “I wear The Row every day. I’m able to create clothes that I love and that other people love too…I really just love my job.”

On likely finding her in secluded Montauk for the fourth of July: “I like to stay in most of the time or go out on a boat…The water is so beautiful [there], I like really secluded places.”

On fizzling fashion lines: “That’s the thing about celebrity brands these days. People think they can define a brand by just a name, but the product has to speak for itself. It doesn’t really matter whose name is on it. That’s the truth.”

On her eating habits now that she often flies from NY to LA to visit her boyfriend, The Hangover star Justin Bartha: “[I'm a] French fries and hamburger girl. I am literally the worst eater in the world. Being in the garment district, it’s Subway or pizza. I never actually thought about what I eat.”

Mary-Kate Olsen and twin sister Ashley (pictured below) attends the premiere of The Hangover at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Tuesday (June 2) in Hollywood.

Mary-Kate starts shooting her new teen romancer, Beastly, on June 13 in Montreal. The 22-year-old actress is joining British actor Alex Pettyfer and High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens in the retelling of Beauty and the Beast set in modern-day New York.

According to Variety, MK’s character places a curse on a handsome egocentric young man, to be portrayed by Pettyfer, who’s physically transformed into everything he despises.

The 22-year-old Olsen twin took these shots with her cell phone and text messaged them to Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire (while Joanna was watching American Idol). Famed hairdresser Mark Townsend, who gave Reese Witherspoon her bangs, is the one pictured below giving Ashley’s hair a makeover.

Ashley Olsen dons a dark brown wig in VMan magazine’s upcoming summer issue. Here’s what the 22-year-old shared with the VMan via People:

On her off-camera personality: “I’m definitely a hippie girl.”

On fashion being in her future, not acting: “I’ve been transitioning from acting as a kid to doing something that I’m choosing for myself-to be part of the fashion industry. That’s what I want for my future. It has nothing to do with my past, nothing to do with anyone else’s agenda. And I followed my heart the whole way. But the outside perception is very different because you do have celebrity brands, people like Jessica Simpson and Kimora Lee Simmons, and those are celebrity brands because they have their names on it.”

On her luxury women’s fashion collection expanding into men’s wear in the fall: “The Row is really something that I’m doing while my sister still wants to focus on acting. [Mary-Kate is] my partner in The Row, but she trusts me with the everyday. I mean, I see her like ten times a day.”

Ashley Olsen wears her own design in The Row as she walks the red carpet at the “Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion” Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Justin Timberlake, Kate Moss, Marc Jacobs and Anna Wintour will host the annual gala to raise money for the organization.

Other celebs spotted at the event include: Kate Hudson, Jessica Alba, Heidi Klum and Victoria Beckham.

Ashley Olsen is seen out and about in the SoHo neighborhood of New York City on Thursday (April 9).

The 22-year-old and twin sister Mary-Kate are launching menswear under their label The Row and are determined to make the garments in the U.S.

“That’s our thing — an American brand made in America. When we looked in the men’s market, we couldn’t really find basics you could wear with designer — the same concept as our women’s. So we started the process with pants and blazers, because we knew it would take time to get that right,” Ashley told WWD.

“We’ve been altering clothes since we were six years old,” said MK. “To train your eye for that long is a big help.”

Ashley Olsen gets bundled up in a hat and scarf while pumping her own gas for her Prius in West L.A. on Saturday afternoon (March 28).

The 22-year-old fashion maven has been splitting her time recently between New York City and L.A.

Her twin sister Mary-Kate stopped by the Burberry event in New York city earlier in the month and responded to her glamorous look at the Metropolitan Opera gala, saying “That’s why I’m doing the complete opposite now!”
