Avril Lavigne has said buh-bye to the dark, brooding girl she used to be — and is finally happy saying hello to a whole new kind of happiness!

Avril Lavigne certainly knows how to work her totally hardcore punk audience in the upcoming April 2007 issue of Seventeen Magazine. The cover reveals we will learn how love finally made Avril happy and how to get your BEST BUTT. It’s a secret everybody’s been wanting to know for years!

You still have a confrontational attitude toward the paparazzi. What’s the story behind you spitting on some photographers last year? I was at [the nightclub] Hyde, and there were a million paparazzi guys. They’re all these gross older men, like disgusting — scum of the earth. They follow you around with clipboards and these glossy pictures of you and a blue Sharpie. They show it in your face when you walk out of a club, then sell it on eBay, so I went “**** you, **** you, **** you” on mine. [Laughs] Then I spit on them. And they love it. They’re all laughing — “Avril spit on me!” But I’d been spitting on them for two years and that one time it became a story.

And great news for the Canadian pop singer! Avril boasted the chart’s top debut with her hit single “Girlfriend,” ranking in at No. 5. HECK YEAH, SHE’S THE MOTHER ******* PRINCESS!! A best career debut on the Hot 100 for the 22-year-old. Her third album, “Best Damn Thing” is due in stores April 17.

• On her party girl lifestyle: “I like to have a good time, jump on tables and wreck things once in a while. When I drink, I am the party.”
• On her changed ways: “I was such a tomboy, running around, getting in fights, hanging out with guys. I look back and laugh as I realize how much I’ve grown up. God I was such a ****.”
• On her future acting career: “I’ve been reading scripts for two years and they’ve all been crap. I can’t just decide, ‘Hey, I want to act,’ and then be in a wicked movie.”
• On the biggest diamond engagement ring she wears: “I want a bigger one! I love it, it’s perfect. I used to wear fake ones like this when I was younger and I never dreamt that one day, I’d actually have one that size.”
• On her new album, The Best Damn Thing: “I went into this record knowing exactly what I wanted it to be. I wanted ti be uptempt, fast and fun. The “Girlfriend” video is amazing as I get to dance. I know, me — dancing! I have my boy-bashing songs but I’m not serious about it. I had the most fun in the studio making this record — we were getting drunk, scootering around, ordering junk food and I think that comes across on the record.”

Hey guys!!!!!!!

For those of you who don’t know, I just did TRL and The Today Show to talk about the song “Keep Holding On” that I wrote for the movie “Eragon.” And I also did a bunch of radio interviews yesterday. Anyway I keep getting asked about my record and what it is called….so I wanted to give u guys all the info directly…. so…. I’m calling the record “The Best Damn Thing”…..and the first single is called “Girlfriend”… the single comes out february….and the record in April…….I promise you guys will LOVE this record, it is my favorite one!!! And I can’t wait!!!!! It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, agressive, confident, cocky in a playful way….all the good stuff. This record will make a great live show, and that’s what I had in mind while writing it! My last tour helped inspire me. So because I am a touring artist and spend so much of my time playing live shows, I wanted to make sure the songs were fun. Fun for the fans and myself. I will only have like 3 slow songs on the record. yay!! I am working on my last song right now in the studio. I should be all wrapped up by Monday in time for the Christmas holidays. So I will check in with u guys soon.

Can’t wait for her new album! Says Avril: “I’ve got to say, this record is going to be so much fun. It’s really upbeat. I have a few love songs — it’s so funny. Of course, I still have my boy-bashing songs, but they’re very playful. So the record is really fun and cool and different, and honestly I think it’s my best record yet.
