Avril Lavigne was spotted shooting promos above The Viper Room in West Hollywood for upcoming album “The Best Damn Thing” set for an April 2007 release. Here’s a little more on the new album from her MySpace:

Hey guys!!!!!!!

For those of you who don’t know, I just did TRL and The Today Show to talk about the song “Keep Holding On” that I wrote for the movie “Eragon.” And I also did a bunch of radio interviews yesterday. Anyway I keep getting asked about my record and what it is called….so I wanted to give u guys all the info directly…. so…. I’m calling the record “The Best Damn Thing”…..and the first single is called “Girlfriend”… the single comes out february….and the record in April…….I promise you guys will LOVE this record, it is my favorite one!!! And I can’t wait!!!!! It is really fast, fun, young, bratty, agressive, confident, cocky in a playful way….all the good stuff. This record will make a great live show, and that’s what I had in mind while writing it! My last tour helped inspire me. So because I am a touring artist and spend so much of my time playing live shows, I wanted to make sure the songs were fun. Fun for the fans and myself. I will only have like 3 slow songs on the record. yay!! I am working on my last song right now in the studio. I should be all wrapped up by Monday in time for the Christmas holidays. So I will check in with u guys soon.

Can’t wait for her new album! Says Avril: “I’ve got to say, this record is going to be so much fun. It’s really upbeat. I have a few love songs — it’s so funny. Of course, I still have my boy-bashing songs, but they’re very playful. So the record is really fun and cool and different, and honestly I think it’s my best record yet. Papa Simpson Snaps Sexy Shot of Jessica

The Daily News features a photo of Madonna and newly adopted David Banda in Malawi. Sources tell London’s Daily Mail that the tot has a nursery filled with $25,000 worth of toys, including a child size BMW that he is not yet old enough to operate. The Mail also reports that Madonna plans to fly to California to complete the adoption- on the advice of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, who have two adopted children.
Jake Gyllenhaal and ex Kirsten Dunst had a friendly chat at Capitale on Tuesday night. Dunst’s publicist says the two are “friends.”
Jennifer Aniston has purchased a $15 million dollar Beverly Hills mansion just three doors away from Friends co-star Courtney Cox. The home is still under construction but will reportedly include six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.
Jessica Simpson will guest star on a November episode of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, reports Life & Style. Jessica will be the musical guest on the show within-the-show.

Jennifer Aniston, Kirsten Dunst, and Bryce Howard were a few of the celebrities who attended publicist Stephen Huvane’s recent wedding to artist and gallery owner Steven Janssen.

Four staffers on Martha Stewart’s TV show tried to sneak in to a taping of rival Rachael Ray’s new program but got caught and were told to leave. A spy said the group was kicked out because they were caught using fake names, but a Stewart spokeswoman denied that claim. Ray’s show aired today.
And some old news… Heidi Klum’s QVC jewelry sale ended 29 minutes early because every item sold out, including the earrings Heidi’s been wearing all season on Project Runway, which she offered in silver and gold –and sold out in less than three minutes.

While Kate Hudson hangs out with Owen Wilson in Maui, estranged husband Chris Robinson has been spotted solo in Manhattan.
Alanis Morissette will appear on FX drama Nip/Tuck this season. Alanis will play the love interest for Roma Maffia’s character, Dr. Liz Cruz, in three episodes, beginning Oct. 31.
Former New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey, who has remained publicly silent since resigning from office two years ago after announcing he was gay, is set to tell his story on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Oprah landed the exclusive interview with 49-year-old McGreevey because of her sense of faith and spirituality, according to friends of the former governor. About a dozen friends accompanied McGreevey and his partner, Australian financial adviser Mark O’Donnell, 42, to Chicago for the taping scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. The interview will air Sept. 19, the same day McGreevey’s political memoir, “The Confession,” goes on sale.
Anna Nicole Smith was so distraught after son Daniel Smith was pronounced dead that she had to be sedated, her attorney Michael Scott said Wednesday. “The devastation and grief over Daniel’s sudden death coupled with the sedation has been so extreme that Anna Nicole experienced memory loss and that it was necessary for [attorney Howard K Stern] to tell Anna again that Daniel had passed away,” he added. Yesterday it was revealed that Stern was also in the room when the 20-year-old passed out. Meanwhile, the chief inspector of the Bahamas coroner’s office on Wednesday called Smith’s death “suspicious” and authorities say Anna Nicole will be subpoenaed to testify at the coroner’s inquest next month.
