FYI: Vanity Fair canceled its most lavish bash for the Oscars because of the writers strike. “After much consideration, and in support of the writers and everyone else affected by this strike, we have decided that this is not the appropriate year to hold our annual Oscar party,” said a Vanity Fair spokesperson. “We want to congratulate all of this year’s nominees and we look forward to hosting our 15th Oscar party next year.”

PEEK-A-BOO! I C U!

New couple Zoe Kravitz (the daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz) and Ben Foster keep close to each other at Madonna’s benefit gala at The United Nations on Wednesday in New York City.

Zoe, 19, and Ben, 27, have been dating for over five months now. Most recently, the cute couple was seen together last month at LAX airport getting their PDA on.

It’s time to name this couple — Zoster? Fravitz?? Boe??? Zen????

The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things DVD Giveaway

All Things" DVD Giveaway

The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things is based on JT Leroy’s critically acclaimed novel of the same name. The story is about Jeremiah, a child who is pulled from his foster home and thrown into a troubled life on the road with his teenage mother, Sarah. Asia Argento’s bold cinematic adaptation of “JT’s” controversial story stars Peter Fonda, Michael Pitt (The Village, Silk), Kip Pardue (Remember the Titans, The Rules of Attraction), Marilyn Manson, and Ben Foster (X-Men 3, Alpha Dog).  The DVD was released last week and contains a limited edition photography book “Exposing a Hoax: Exclusives, Rarities and Fabrications”, featuring pictures by legendary rock ‘n roll photographer Mick Rock. Watch the trailer below!  More pictures in the gallery!

HOW TO WIN A FREE COPY ::  To win The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things DVD, leave a comment in this entry correctly identifying a famous song title with the word "heart" in it and its matching singer.  Only post one song and no repeats, please! Be sure to include a valid email address (not published).  Entries must be made before Wednesday, June 14 @ 7PM EST.  Good luck!

UPDATE :: Congratulations, Rikki!  Your DVD will be sent out soon!  For everyone else who may be interested in watching/renting, know that the movie is more than effective at invoking discomfort and horror–not just because of its setup and story, but also because you wonder how the very young boys who portray the main character were got through their scenes without some damage. It depicts horrific events with semi music video-esque visuals and if you can get past the child-rape and crack-smoking, you might actually enjoy The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things.

Wolverine Movie

Hugh Jackman, who reprises his role as Logan/Wolverine in the upcoming sequel X-Men: The Last Stand, has said that a second draft of the proposed Wolverine prequel movie has already been completed. Jackman would star in and co-produce the film, which would likely receive a quick green light from 20th Century Fox if The Last Stand proves successful.  "It’s probably going to be a prequel to the movies that exist, and I’ve just seen—not just, but about three months ago I saw—the second draft that David Benioff [Troy] has done. You probably know David. He’s a huge fan of the franchise and probably one of the hottest writers in town, and so the lucky thing that I have is him as a partner on this and, for me playing Wolverine, that [they’re the] A lists of the A lists, and there are a number of them that are passionate and want to work on it.  So I think and they think that there is enough in this character to substantiate not just an appendage to the movie that exists, but an entity on its own. I don’t want to make Wolverine be a kind of disguise for X-Men 4. I want to make it stylistically and character-wise as different as we can and show some new stuff. I play him, and I would [be expected to] say this, but I think that he is one of the most interesting characters in terms of action heroes and comic-book heroes around."

X-Men: The Last Stand opens in theaters next week, May 26. Wolverine movie production would likely begin sometime next year.  More pictures in the gallery!
