On how she’s keeping the weight off: “I’m on a raw-food diet. It’s intense. And sort of awful. Yesterday for lunch? Spinach. Just spinach. Spinach and some seeds.”

On moving to NY after four seasons with Big Love: “I sacrificed six years in L. A. I did my job out here. I made the contacts and did the work I had to do. But I came here at eighteen. I’m out of here at twenty-four, and I feel lucky it wasn’t longer.”

On finding ways to work out outside of the gym: “When I first moved to L.A., I didn’t have a lot of money to join a gym or take classes, so I improvised. My sister and I went to the library and looked over their DVD collection and discovered Neena and Veena, these Egyptian twins who have a whole series of belly dancing routines. We did them all. When you’re shaking your booty, you can’t help but feel beautiful and sexy.”

American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi strips down to a bikini in the latest issue of Maxim.

When asked if fellow judge Simon Cowell ever lays into her the way he did Paula Abdul, Kara answered, “Definitely. It’s hard for me to say something negative to a contestant without giving something constructive back, and that annoys Simon. But they’re kids, and you feel for them - especially when they have a story, like they’ve overcome cancer or something.”

Remember last season on American Idol when Kara stripped down to a bikini alongside “Bikini Girl”? Hah!

The 22-year-old blonde beauty tweeted, “I cried three times because family flew in to surprise me! The issue is amazing, glowing, fun, the girls are happy… it’s not over-the-top, the girls and editors should be so proud! THANK YOU ALL!!!”
