Blake Lively shoots a scene with Leighton Meester, Ed Westwick, and Chace Crawford on the set of Gossip Girl on Wednesday (November 18) on the Upper West Side in New York City.

The 22-year-old actress recently spoke to Nylon magazine about comparing her style and her character’s on Gossip Girl. “I dress just like Serena!” she said. “I own half her wardrobe, so it’s far too similar to the way I dress. I feel ridiculous at times with her, because I’m, you know, killing someone or marrying someone, but I look like me. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is absurd.’ ”

“I don’t really know how to describe my personal style,” Blake said. “I love layering things. Fall is my favorite time of the year to get dressed. I really like the new craze that’s happening with the darker more studded things, ripped-up things … harder shoulder-pad sleeves. It’s fun. … I need more of those spiked bracelets. … I [like] things that are feminine but still have an edge.”

Blake Lively shows off a plunging neckline in Marchesa at screening of The Private Lives of Pippa Lee at AMC Loews 19th Street theater on Saturday (November 15) in New York City.

Boyfriend Penn Badgley came out to support the 22-year-old Gossip Girl actress at the event sponsored by The Cinema Society and A Diamond is Forever. Also spotted at the screening: co-star Chace Crawford.

Blake stars as Pippa Lee as a teenager who runs away from her rural home and seeks refuge with her father’s sister Trish in New York City. Robin Wright Penn plays Pippa Lee as an adult.

“I’ve always been a night owl. Even at home, we’d stay up all night talking. My mom tells the most amazing stories,” Blake said. “In a way, she was kind of raising me to be a great actress without even realizing it.”

The 22-year-old Gossip Girl actress has nothing but profound respect for her co-star and director Ben Affleck. During an event last month in New York City, Blake told JustJared.com, “He’s a terrific director. You never know what you’re getting into with any director, but he’s been in this business for so long that he really know what he’s doing and he’s a great director. All of us enjoyed working with him so much.”

Blake Lively hosts the Fête d’Hiver Benefit at New York City’s Four Seasons Restaurant on Wednesday (November 4)

The 22-year-old Gossip Girl actress and Diane Kruger co-hosted the event thrown by The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) Associates Committee.

At the event, which was named after the renowned French winter festival, guests enjoyed music by The Misshapes and décor by Bronson Van Wyck.

Blake Lively keeps warm in a fleece lined hoodie on The Town’s lunch break in Boston on Tuesday (November 2).

The 22-year-old actress recently talked about how different her role as Krista in The Town is from her role as Gossip Girl’s Serena van der Woodsen.

“[Krista] is a drug dealing Boston townie with a two-year-old child,” Blake told JustJared.com. “She’s a pretty dark girl, but she’s just made do with what she’s been raised in.”

And while she didn’t mind the break from her high-fashion wardrobe, Blake shared that one thing about playing Krista drove her crazy…

“I’ve been trying to make do with my acrylics - I hate them,” she told JustJared.com of her fake nails. “I’d had them on for, like, two months. I got to take them off for one week ’cause I was, like, I can’t deal with this anymore! I had to wear ‘em to the Emmys, too.” More Here! »

One of the remarkable things about you is your ability to imagine yourself in situations that are much bleaker than what you’ve experienced in your own life. As a character, I get to be this wild, outgoing person that I’m so not. I think it all comes from being the youngest of five. I was always observing my siblings and hearing stories about their lives that turned out to to be helpful as an actress.

Do you think of yourself as Southern, even though you grew up in L.A.? I grew up in L.A., but I was the only one in my family born there. I have a tight-knit Southern family, so whenever I tell people I’m from L.A., they say, “Yeah but you don’t count,” I guess because of the Southern values I was raised with , and the way I eat - the more sugary and cheesy and fried, the better.

The way you dress is so bold. You seem very comfortable with yourself right now. Living in New York, I feel stronger and more like a woman than ever before. In high school, it was like, what power do I have - I have long blonde hair, you know? But working as hard as I do now, I feel a sense of power and respect, too. And I’ve learned an incredible amount about fashion on Gossip Girl. Clothes are a personal expression, and my style is as ever-changing as I am: I’m growing, maturing, developing, I’m going through new things in my life, and with that, what I choose to wear changes.

On punking her friends: “I swipe my friends with, like, my phone or something, - I slide it in their butts. Like in middle school! You say ‘Visa! Mastercard!’ Just to give somebody a jump. I’m a prankster.”

On riding elephants on her recent vacation to Thailand, India and the Maldives: “Elephants are the most incredible creatures I’ve ever been around. You’re sitting in this water that they poop in, and somehow it’s not gross. You’re scrubbing the bottom of their feet and behind their ears…”

On her empathetic nature: “I feel a lot. I get really bad stomachaches all the time. So I went to a doctor, and he said, ‘You’re a feeler.’ I take on people’s pain a little too much.”

Over the weekend, Blake dressed up as a sexy flight attendant for Halloween.
