Brad Pitt meets with friends and colleagues over a private dinner on Sunday (August 30) in Aviles, Spain.

The 45-year-old actor is in town to discuss the construction of the Oscar Niemeyer International Cultural Center, which is scheduled to launch in mid-2010. (Niemeyer is a Brazilian architect most famous for his modern architecture.)

“Brad is interested in supporting the project, both in cultural and architectural aspects” said the mayor of Avilés, Pilar Varela. “He is interested in building with innovation, novelty, and especially sustainability.”

While in town, Brad also met with the Regional President of the Principality of Asturias, Vicente Alvarez Areces.

Angelina Jolie dons a Tt Collection tank as she takes her daughter Shiloh, 3, shopping at a market in Ajaccio, France on Friday morning (August 28).

The mother-daughter pair was seen talking with locals before hopping into their Mazda car.

Shiloh was seen playing with a poodle push. Angie also picked up another push toy for Zahara and a toy sword for Maddox and Pax.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie take their sons Maddox, 8, and Pax, 5, to the pet and garden shop Jardinerie du Centre Var in Brignoles, France on Thursday (August 20).

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie added a few new members to the family, reports Us Weekly.

The couple bought gerbils and goldfish for sons Maddox, 8, and Pax, 5, at pet and garden shop Jardinerie du Centre Var in Brignoles, France on Thursday (August 20). They also bought Maddox a cactus.

The day before, Brad and Angie lunched at the Auberge de Chatueauvert in Correns, France with daughters Shiloh, 3, and Zahara, 4, both of whom had stick-on tattoos.

German magazine Stern recently reported that Brad slammed Tom Cruise’s WWII flick Valkyrie, quoting Brad as saying it was a “ridiculous movie.”

Brad’s manager claims, “Brad has never seen Valkyrie so this is NOT accurate.”

Brad Pitt is set to voice the superhero Metro Man in the upcoming animated flick, Oobermind.

According to Variety, Will Ferrell replaces Robert Downey Jr. in the title role of a supervillain who imagines all his dastardly dreams coming true after defeating Metro Man, only to find life quite boring without an adversary. To fill the void, Oobermind creates a new superhero, Titan (Jonah Hill), who also wants to be bad, forcing Oobermind to switch sides. Tina Fey voices the reporter tasked with keeping track of the city’s confusing superhero situation.

Today Show co-anchor Ann Curry asked Brad if he might be doing the movie in order to appear heroic to his and Angelina Jolie’s children: Maddox, 8; Pax, 5; Zahara, 4; Shiloh, 3; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 1.

“It’s just something they’ll enjoy and think that’s cool,” he responded.

Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes despite Internet rumblings.

A studio rep tells Us Weekly: “The report in today’s London Mirror is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we’re extremely pleased with the production of the film. As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day, 2009. In order to complete the movie, we’ve scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes, obtain pick-up shots, and perfect some of the visual effects elements, all of which is standard filmmaking practice.”

On Friday, Brad stopped by Real Time with Bill Maher to talk about his recent decision to quit smoking pot. “I certainly had my day,” he said. “I’m a dad [of six] now. You want to be alert and my eyes used to glaze over when I did that.”

Several citizens have banded together to get Brad Pitt elected mayor of New Orleans since the actor’s Make It Right foundation has provided green and affordable housing for displaced residents in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

Brad was asked if he would serve as Mayor of New Orleans and jokingly told the Today Show on Thursday morning, “Yeah, yeah. I’m running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform.”

When pressed some more about running, he said tersely, “I don’t have a chance. It’s not what I do best.”
