Cameron Diaz is toying with an offer to play the female lead in the upcoming superhero flick Green Hornet.
The 36-year-old actress would star opposite funnyman Seth Rogen, reports EW.
Set to helm the movie is director Michel Gondry (2004’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, 2008’s Be Kind Rewind). Seth and his writing partner Evan Goldberg penned the script.
A release date for Green Hornet is set for July 9, 2010.

The 36-year-old actress wore a gorgeous ivory embroidered linen dress and red patent leather corset belt fromt he Oscar de la Renta Resort Collection.
Supporting Cam from Hollywood Boulevard was her older sister Chimene (pictured below), Lucy Liu, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and directors McG and Danny Boyle.
“It will be cool to be under people’s feet,” the 36-year-old actress told the Hollywood Reporter “It really is the place where people can understand exactly that actors are not really stars - they don’t exist in the sky, they exist on the ground just like everybody else.”

Cameron Diaz is black, white and sexy all over at the eco-garden picnic and screening of ecologically-minded film Home held at Stella McCartney’s West Hollywood store on Friday, June 5 (also World Environment Day).
According to WWD, Home tells the visual story of humans’ simultaneous impact and reliance on nature and the planet’s resources. An English version of the 90-minute film is voiced by Glenn Close, while Salma Hayek narrates a Spanish one. As a means of neutralizing its production carbon footprint, the makers of Home are financing a project for the diffusion of anaerobic digesters in the Hassan region of India.

On going green: “The planet needs a publicist. I had this cartoon in my head a couple of years ago when Paris Hilton was going to jail and Britney Spears was falling apart. There’s a woman at a desk talking to planet Earth, and she’s like, ‘I’m going to make you a star!” And it says, ‘But I’m a planet. And she’s like “No, I can tell, you’re going to be bigger than Paris and Britney. When I’m done with you, everyone’s going to know who you are! (laughs).
On making Mother Earth famous: “It’s the planet, you know what I mean? She should be the one - she should be a star. How do we make this little planet of ours a big star? I want everybody to know who she is.”
On finally fixing her nose after breaking it four times: “S— just finds my face - it’s crazy.” (She most recently injured it with a surfboard, and before that with her own knee.)
On more radical forms of surgery likely being out of the question for her: “I’d love a bigger butt, more meat on my bones. I’d love to be more voluptuous. It’s just not my body type.”
