Carrie Underwood told Ellen DeGeneres on her show today (November 18) that she and boyfriend Mike Fisher have been together “close to a year now.”

“That’s the longest relationship I’ve had!” Carrie, 26, said. “I joke and say my dogs are the longest relationship ever.”

The 26-year-old Grammy winner said that when one of her band members tried to hook her up with Mike, the Ottawa Senators hockey player, she was wary of the distance. “I love Canada,” she said, “but that is a long distance relationship.”

As for whether or not they’ll move in together, Carrie said no! “Call me old fashioned,” she laughed, “he’s there. I’m here. We’re both doing our thing and it’s good.”

“The next guy I move in with will be my hubby, whoever that is. I’m not saying it’s going to be him.”

Carrie Underwood hosts the 2009 CMA Awards at the Sommet Center on Wednesday (November 11) in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 26-year-old singer performed her new single “Cowboy Casanova” at the awards show. Brad Paisley and Carrie opened the 2009 CMAs by changing the lyrics to “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys” to include a reference to Kanye West.

Carrie’s new album “Play On” has sold 318,000 copies so far, claiming the No. 1 Billboard 200 chart position.

The 26-year-old American Idol recently sat down with In the Spotlight With Robin Roberts to discuss her rise to fame, her family, and her boyfriend, Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher. “We stay in, you know, we … we’re not like big party-goers so we don’t show up to events together and things like that,” she said.

As far as what’s next in her career, “It really just depends on what God has planned,” Carrie said. “I can try to make my own plans. I’ve been doing that my whole life and it’s never worked out, so I don’t know why I’d start now.”

Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher may be singing Carrie Underwood’s praises, but Mike may not want to actually sing to the four-time Grammy winner.

“I like to sing,” Mike told The Sens Show (an online news show for his hockey team, the Ottawa Senators). “[But] when I try to sing some of her songs, she just laughs!”

Carrie, 26, and Mike, 29, met last October at a concert in Toronto after being introduced by mutual friends.

As for what Carrie likes in a romantic date, she told The Boot, “I love sporting events and popcorn and pizza and being outside, like at a baseball or football game. I love amusement parks, going to ride roller coasters.

“I also love - not all the time, but occasionally - getting really dressed up and going on a proper date, where he picks you up and you’re wearing a nice dress and you both smell real nice, and you made a big effort to get looking pretty for this person.”
