The 23-year-old country singer picked up two Grammys this evening — Best New Artist and Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Jesus, Take The Wheel.” She’s the first country artist since LeAnn Rimes to win Best New Arist and edged out Chris Brown, James Blunt, Imogen Heap, and Corinne Bailey Rae. Many more pictures of Carrie at the Grammys here!

Carrie performed a cover of Bob Wills‘ Western swing classic “New San Antonio Rose,” the classic Eagles track, “Desperado,” and a duet with Rascal Flatts of the Eagles “Life In The Fast Lane.” Watch all of the performances Carrie here!

Carrie Underwood’s Half-Time Hit

Carrie Underwood headlined the half-time show on Thanksgiving Day (the Dallas Cowboys bested the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38 to 10) with her hits “We’re Young and Beautiful” and “Before He Cheats.” Kelly Clarkson opened with the National Anthem. Before going on stage, Carrie said: “This year at Thanksgiving I’m not going home and I swore this year I was going home, but then they wanted me to sing at the halftime show at the Dallas-Buccaneers game in Dallas. And I was like, ‘Yeah, for sure because it’s such a Thanksgiving tradition especially around Oklahoma watching the Dallas game on TV, so I was very excited to be doing that, so I have a lot to be Thankful for this year.”

Spend Thanksgiving with Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood will be performing at the Dallas Cowboys’ halftime show on Thursday, kicking off the Salvation Army Red Kettle Christmas fundraising campaign for 2006. “I am so glad to have the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving in Dallas this year,” said Carrie. “My family and I have been spectators several times in the past, and now I am thrilled to be performing at halftime this year! I look forward to teaming up with The Salvation Army and the Dallas Cowboys for a great day.”

Pictures include Carrie, 23, earlier this afternoon at the Shrine Auditorium, rocking it out on the red carpet and performing at the 2006 American Music Awards in Los Angeles. Below those is Carrie rehearsing for the AMA’s the day before. Could her outfits be any more perfect?

Carrie Underwood Takes Home Two @ CMAs

Jesus took the wheel last night for American Idol’s Carrie Underwood. Not only did she look amazing from head to toe last night during last night’s Country Music Association’s Awards, Carrie, 23, took home female vocalist of the year.

FAITH’S FREAKOUT! And thanks to live television, we got to see Faith Hill get PISSED backstage after Carrie’s win. (The close-up is clutch.) Wow, I am so not a fan right now. Check out Faith’s Myspace page to see how her fans (ex-fans?) are reacting. It’s getting heated! More pictures in the gallery!

UPDATE 1 :: Faith’s management company says Faith was just joking and didn’t know she was on camera. Sandra Westerman of Borman Entertainment said: “She would never disrespect one of the other artists.”

UPDATE 2 :: Faith released an official statement herself, saying: “The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me. For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year.”
