White-hot singer Cassie (in Pencey) strikes a few poses at the launch of Madison Square Garden’s new “NYC Sound Tracks” series at Metrazur Restaurant in New York City on Tuesday.

Cassie’s second album is due out in September, with producers Kanye West and Pharrell. Her Official Girl video release with Lil Wayne is scheduled to drop next month.

On the personal end, Diddy and Cassie were reportedly trying to avoid be photographed together at the Marquee yesterday. Apparently the pair got into the same car despite slipping out at different times.

Cassie attends the Pepsi Smash relaunch party at Pasha nightclub on the Upper West Side of Manhattan on Thursday night.

Earlier this month, the 21-year-old R&B songstress did an interview for Billboard about her as-yet-untitled sophomore album, which is set to be released on May 20.

“I guess I grew up a lot but I’m still in essence the same person,” Cassie says. “Lots has changed in my life, stuff that has made me think about things differently. I’m more vulnerable and you can hear my vocals better this time around. There’s real emotion and a much realer connection with my fans.”

Although a first single hasn’t been released, Cassie assures it will be “a club record — something fun and danceable.”

Sarah Michelle Gellar and R&B songstress Cassie celebrate the 26th birthday of DJ Cassidy — one of the most sought after DJs in the industry — at a private party at NYC hotpost Tenjune on Wednesday. Noticeably missing was Gellar’s hubby Freddie Prinze Jr.

Live performances were made by Jeff Red, Naughty by Nature and Big Daddy Kane. Ronson, Q-tip, D-Nice and Juske all had DJ sets.

Other celebrities filling up the place wall-to-wall included Diddy, Jermaine Dupri, Russell Simmons and hip-hop violinist Miri Bin Ari.

Cassie kept it classy in a bejeweled Diane Von Furstenberg dress with a keyhole neckline at the Lorraine Schwartz Diamond Monkey Collection launch party in NYC on Wednesday. The 20-year-old R&B beauty finished off her look in slingback peep-toes and a matching cluth.
