Cate Blanchett stays classic in black at an exhibition preview of ‘Surviving Australia, Surprising Animal Secrets’ at the Australian Museum on Thursday in Sydney, Australia.
Cate recently talked about Steven Spielberg giving her children a chance to step behind the camera and direct her in the latest Indiana Jones movie.
“My kids were so welcome on set. In fact, Steven Spielberg even let them direct me one day - they would call ‘Action!’ and they were highly critical,” she told OK! Magazine.
“Steve [Spielberg] was so welcoming to my family. And that was really special.”

“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” Movie Trailer Fri, 23 May 2008
Here’s the trailer for Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett’s new film, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
To refresh your memory, 80-year-old Benjamin Button (Pitt), is born aging backwards, causing complications when he falls in love with a 30-year-old woman (Blanchett).
Director David Fincher said, “It’s dark, it’s romantic, and it also deals with mortality in a pretty unflattering way. Button is born in 1919 - with the film itself beginning in World War I, traveling around the world and carrying on all the way through to the year 2000.”
Watch the “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” Movie Trailer below! The film opens on Friday, December 19.

Cate Blanchett @ Australian Indiana Jones Premiere Wed, 21 May 2008
Cate Blanchett wears some killer heels as she arrives for the Australian premiere of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in Sydney on Wednesday.
“I knew this film was popular … but I didn’t realize just how big the fan base was before the opening at Cannes,” Cate said at the premiere.
The 39-year-old actress also talked about some difficulties while shooting the film. “It sounds shallow, but trying to keep every single hair in place while sword fighting in a military duck (amphibious vehicle) with Shia LaBeouf - that was pretty difficult.”

Cate Blanchett @ Indiana Jones Premiere Sun, 18 May 2008
Cate Blanchett is gorgeous in gray Armani at the premiere of her new film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull during the 2008 Cannes Film Festival on Sunday in Cannes, southern France.
So far, Indiana Jones has garnered a mediocre 67% on RottenTomatoes.com. Here are some review snippets:
Time: “There are scenes in the new movie that seem like stretching exercises at a retirement home; there are garrulous stretches, and even the title seems a few words too long. But once it gets going, Crystal Skull delivers smart, robust, familiar entertainment.”
Entertainment Weekly: “There’s joy and a middle-aged playfulness to the best of Steven Spielberg’s unlikely sequel.”

Indiana Jones rolls into theaters everywhere this Thursday, May 22. Here are some early reviews:
Variety: “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull begins with an actual big bang, then gradually slides toward a ho-hum midsection before literally taking off for an uplifting finish.”
UK’s Telegraph: “With a cast designed to appeal to all ages, an overstuffed plot and an aging action hero, it looks like a film born of commercial calculation rather than a story that needed to be told.”

Shia LaBeouf is a Muscular Mutt Thu, 08 May 2008
Here are some new promo pics from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull out Thursday, May 22.
Here’s the official synopsis via Paramount: The newest Indiana Jones adventure begins in the desert Southwest in 1957 – the height of the Cold War. Indy (Harrison Ford) and his sidekick Mac (Ray Winstone) have barely escaped a close scrape with nefarious Soviet agents on a remote airfield.
Now, Professor Jones has returned home to Marshall College – only to find things have gone from bad to worse. His close friend and dean of the college (Jim Broadbent) explains that Indy’s recent activities have made him the object of suspicion, and that the government has put pressure on the university to fire him. On his way out of town, Indiana meets rebellious young Mutt (Shia LaBeouf), who carries both a grudge and a proposition for the adventurous archaeologist: If he’ll help Mutt on a mission with deeply personal stakes, Indy could very well make one of the most spectacular archaeological finds in history – the Crystal Skull of Akator, a legendary object of fascination, superstition and fear.
