Michael Douglas' Kids Tue, 20 June 2006
“My Welsh roots are extremely important to me. Even though I now live overseas, they are never forgotten. My memory of a happy childhood serves me well and gives me a clear insight into what every child in Wales has the right to. I’m only too aware that not all children are as lucky as I was growing up and I feel very strongly about the aims and objectives of the appeal and want to do everything I can to ensure that every child is loved, valued and able to reach their potential. As an adult and especially as parents, the thought of children being abused is unacceptable to Michael and myself and this simply has to stop. I feel it is important to bring my support to the Full Stop Appeal (campaign to stop cruelty to children) and help to raise the funds needed to continue the NSPCC’s (The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) vital work which it undertakes to end cruelty to children across Wales. The Full Stop message is clear - child protection is everyone’s responsibility. I hope by adding my support and becoming involved it will encourage others to do so too.” — Catherine Zeta-Jones, at a charity dinner in Cardiff last night
