Stuart Townsend’s “Battle in Seattle”

Movieset.com was on the scene when Battle in Seattle was filming. Based on one of the most incendiary political uprisings in a generation, Battle in Seattle takes an in depth and personal look at the five days that rocked the world in 1999 as tens of thousands of demonstrators took to the streets in protest of The World Trade Organization.

Below, in order, are pictures of: Channing Tatum in uniform, director Stuart Townsend (Charlize Theron’s longtime boyfriend), Connie Nielsen getting her fingerprints taken and caught in tear gas, Martin Henderson in jail and in court, and Woody Harrelson suited up in riot gear. [Martin Henderson (inset) played the hunk in Britney Spears‘ “Toxic” music video.]

Other notable co-stars not pictured: Charlize Theron, Chris Evans, Joshua Jackson, Susan Sarandon, Michelle Rodriguez, and Ray Liotta.

Channing Tatum Back in the Day

Check out these pictures of Channing Tatum back in his high school and college years. The group group photo is Channing’s high school graduating class of 1998 (bottom center with blue shorts). The inset picture is Channing at Glenville State College (GSC) where he played football on a scholarship for a short period of time. ChanningTatum.org has the exclusive from one of their readers:

Chan went to Glenville State College for a brief time. My ex helped recruit him. In Feb of 98 we had Chan up to check out Glenville. During that weekend Chan decided he’d take a pic of himself with my camera. So that’s how I got the camera. My ex actually talks to Chan from time-to-time. We all have been keeping up with Chan ever since his first commercial. My best friend got quite cozy with him during that weekend. Haven’t spoke to him since school but he doesn’t appear to have changed a whole lot. So I knew Chan before he made it big. He didn’t attend GSC until 98. I know that on some web sites there has been mistakes about this. Chan was hot then and is still hot now. — Kellie

Ryan Phillippe & Channing Tatum

Pretty boys Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum play opposite one another in 2007’s Untitled Kimberly Peirce Project (reportedly titled Stop-Loss) as soldiers in Iraq.  Ryan, 31, and Channing, 26, were spotted filming a parade scene for the movie this past Monday in downtown Lockhart, a little town about 30 miles south of Austin, Texas.  Ryan was kind enough to take photos with marching band members between takes. More pictures in the gallery including director Kimberly Peirce going over production notes with actress Abbie Cornish during the parade filming!

Ryan Phillippe: Flag of our Fathers

Ryan Phillippe dons camo and ammo (upper inset) on the San Antonio set of his latest untitled war film. The actor also stars in Clint Eastwood’s World War II drama, Flag of Our Fathers, opening in October. Phillippe, who stars as a soldier who refuses orders to return to Iraq after being sent home to Texas, takes a group snap with his comrades, including Channing Tatum (lower inset).

Here is a compilation of candids and promos pictures of Ryan Phillippe in Flag of Our Fathers.  I wasn’t around last week to post them but enjoy them now!  Check out the trailer for the Japanese version of the film called Letters from Iwo Jima. The Japanese film will focus on the Japanese perspective (more of Ken Watanabe’s character) but the American version will obviously focus more on the perspective of its American characters — Ryan Phillippe and Jesse Bradford.  The American trailer will be available next month. FOOF opens in theaters nationwide on October 20, 2006.  More pictures in the gallery!

Channing Tatum in GQ Magazine

How He Became An Actor After working as a mortgage-loan officer and dabbling in construction, the Florida native decided to give modeling a go when he was approached on the street in Miami by a guy asking if Tatum had "representation."  "I had no idea what he was talking about," Tatum says.  "He tuned out to be a weirdo, but it got me thinking maybe I could do it."  Smart move.  Two years of modeling for deep-pocketed clients like Armani and Abercrombie & Fitch helped him land gigs in a Mountain Dew commercial and on CSI: Miami.

First Leading Role
Tatum, 26, played a high school jock with no game in this year’s She’s The Man, costarring Amanda Bynes (imagine a PG-13 version of Lindsay Lohan).

Anaheim, CA :: Channing Tatum walked the red carpet at the world premiere of Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest this past Saturday in Disneyland.  The 26-year-old actor/model is also featured in the July 2006 issue of GQ Magazine.  Channing’s upcoming dance flick Step Up will be out August 11th.

(Interview continued after the jump)

(Continued before the jump)

His First Good Role He appears in the Sundace breakout A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints, due to hits theaters in August.  Based on the memoir of the same name, the movie charts author and director Dito Montiel’s coming-of-age in Astoria, Queens.  Tatum plays neighborhood tough guy and Montel’s best friend, Antonio, in the film, which was shot entirely in Astoria.  "I would go walking around with Dito in the neighborhood, and he knew everyone," Tatum says, laughing.  "All these dudes have bullet holes and **** and the first question they would ask is ‘Who’s playing Antonio?’ And you’re just like, ‘Oh ****, that’s me.  Hi, I’m an actor.’  But they were really nice, man."

Why He Knows How To Dance "In Tampa, where I grew up, all my friends are Spanish.  Have you ever heard of a quinceañera? It’s basically like a sweet sixteen, and they have these big elaborate dances.  That’s where I learned.  I can’t count music, though.  I don’t hear ones and twos and threes in there.  I just hear beats."

…And Catch A Football "I went to college in West Virginia on a football scholarship.  I was there for a semester and I was like, ‘Yep, that’s it, that’s a wrap.’  I’m not the school type."
