Charlize Theron holds hands with her mother Garda after having lunch at Hotel Cipriani in Venice, Italy on Sunday.

At the restaurant, the 33-year-old Academy Awards winner bumped into Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani. (On Thursday, Charlize attended the party for the movie Valentino: The Last Emperor.)

During lunch, Charlize chowed down on some pizza. Afterwards, the mother-daughter duo strolled through the streets of Venice and dropped into the Bruno Magli boutique.

Charlize has been in town to promote her new movie The Burning Plain at the 2008 Venice Film Festival.

Charlize Theron sparkles in head-to-toe Versace at the premiere of her latest movie, The Burning Plain, during the 2008 Venice Film Festival at at the Sala Grande on Friday in Venice, Italy.

During yesterday’s press conference, the 33-year-old Oscar-winning actress received a marriage proposal. A reporter asked, “I would like to ask you something Charlize Theron. First of all, I really like you so much and have a lot of respect for you but I would like to marry you — and I have a question: which side [of the bed] do you prefer to sleep [on]?”

Charlize quipped, “The side that you are not on.”

“Oh, then I think it doesn’t work,” he replied sadly.

“Security! Security! Security!” Charlize joked. “The man with the red… you are very cute, but you know my boyfriend will kill you.”

“Yeah, I am married, I am taken, whatever,” she added. “How much money do you have?”

“I am poor,” the journalist responded.

“See, we are gonna have to talk about that,” she said. “I will talk to you later. I have something for you, you are ready? Ananas [meaning pineapple]. There you go, sit down.”

The 33-year-old bombshell dress finished off her look with Bulgari jewels and the same sexy Roger Vivier shoes she wore to last night’s Valentino movie party.

Charlize recently talked about her Burning Plain co-star, Kim Basinger, saying, “There is a strength now, at her age, more than when she was working in her 30s, with this left-over vulnerability from her 20s that was unbelievable to watch. When she is shaking, her entire body is shaking for real. You can’t fake that!” Basinger is now 54.

The Oscar-winning actress, who turned 33 earlier this month, accessorized her jewel-necklined dress with sexy Roger Vivier heels, YSL clutch and Bulgari jewels.

Valentino: The Last Emperor is an intimate and engaging fly-on-the-wall exploration of one of Italy’s most famous men in fashion, Valentino Garavani. At the heart of the film is the unique relationship between Valentino and his business partner and companion of 50 years, Giancarlo Giammetti.

Charlize Theron walks side by side with Stuart Townsend to the premiere of Battle in Seattle at the Impact Film Festival in Denver, Colorado, the Mile High City.

“I’m incredibly honored to be a part of this film,” Charlize said. “It is the kind of film that, when you walk out, really makes you want to go out and be proactive.”

Battle in Seattle centers around five fictional characters whose lives intersected with the 1999 Seattle protests against the World Trade Organization. Although it began as a peaceful protest with a goal of stopping the WTO talks, it escalated into a full-scale riot and eventually, a State of Emergency that put protesters against the Seattle Police Department and the National Guard.

Battle in Seattle stars Charlize Theron, Woody Harrelson, and Michelle Rodriguez, and will have a limited release on September 19th.

Charlize Theron is sheer beauty in a lace Prada halter dress with cut-outs at the premiere of her new movie Hancock at JCB Hall on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan.

The star of the film, Will Smith, was also on hand. Hancock opens on August 30 in Japan.

Hancock was the fourth highest-grossing title of the summer with $225 million. It trailed The Dark Knight ($471 million), Iron Man ($317 million) and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($315 million). What a spectacular end to a superheroes summer!

Charlize Theron (in Dior by John Galliano) joins Will Smith and Jason Bateman at the Premiere of Sony Pictures’ Hancock at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Monday in Hollywood.

The 32-year-old actress, who wore Giuseppe Zanotti flat sandals and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels, recently spoke about her thoughts on the acting profession, saying, “I still believe that the job of an actor is to ‘disappear’. It’s about the canvas of the story, and not about thinking, ‘Oh, what do I get to play in this movie?”

“I don’t think of my work in that compartmentalised way. I’m a lover of good material and I like things that break the whole rule of thumb of what genre is.”, continued Charlize.
