Welsh pop singer Charlotte Church and rugby player Gavin Henson welcomed son Dexter Lloyd Henson on Sunday at the couple’s farmhouse home in UK’s Vale of Glamorgan. He weighed a healthy 7 lb., 5 oz.

Charlotte’s official site reads, “We’ve just had a text from Charlotte and we can now exclusively reveal that Gavin and Charlotte have chosen the name Dexter for their new baby boy. In keeping with Henson family tradition, Dexter will also have the name Lloyd as a middle name.”

Dexter joins big sis Ruby Megan, 2.

“Charlotte has literally just this minute phoned us to let us know that she gave birth to a little boy today. He was born just after midnight at her and Gavin’s home with Gavin in attendance at the birth.

“They haven’t yet announced a name for their son, but we can confirm that he weighed in at 7lb 5oz and that mom and baby are both doing just fine. We will of course be the first place you can find out about the baby’s name and Charlotte has promised us this will be very soon. Meanwhile we would like to offer her and Gavin our congratulations and we are sure you will join us in sending Charlotte, Gavin, Ruby and her new baby brother our best wishes.”

Meanwhile, Charlotte has confirmed that she will fulfill her commitment to Channel 4 to present the third [season] of The Charlotte Church Show in July and August of this year.”

Charlotte, 22, and Gavin, 26, already have one daughter, Ruby Megan Henson, who turns nine months on Friday.

Charlotte gave birth at home the Thursday before last but almost popped in a parking lot of a hardware store. “[Gavin] accidentally locked me in the car and the alarm was going off,” she said. “So people were coming out of B&Q hearing the alarm and looking at the car, and then seeing it’s Charlotte Church in there! I was just trying to hide but couldn’t - just sitting there having contractions!”

And apparently the baby looks just like Gavin!

Charlotte said: “She’s got Gavin’s bum chin and his feet. I’m really shocked by how I feel. It’s just massive amounts of love towards her. And it’s like she’s always been here.”

Via the webmaster for Charlotte’s official website: “Hi Everyone, I’ve just been chatting to Charlotte this morning and she told me that she and Gavin have chosen the name Ruby for their baby daughter. Ruby was born at 10.35pm last Thursday and weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces, exactly the same weight that Charlotte was when she was born. Charlotte said that they have spent the weekend receiving family and friends and everything is fine with both her and Ruby.”

Charlotte’s grandmother Maria Cooper also recently told reporters, “She is my first great-grandchild and she is beautiful. Charlotte and Gavin are tired but doing fine.

Pop singer Charlotte Church and rugby player Gavin Henson are now proud Welsh parents of a beautiful baby girl.

Church gave birth at their UK home on Thursday evening with longtime boyfriend Gavin by her side. The baby’s name has yet to be released.

A family friend said: “Charlotte and Gavin are over the moon. She’s everything they wished for. I’m sure Charlotte’s going to be a wonderful mum to her.”

Charlotte, 21, and Gavin, 25, reside at their new countryside home in the Vale of Glamorgan outside Cardiff.

Pregnant Welsh singer Charlotte Church performs a duet on the Easter special of The Charlotte Church Show with Fergie — their own rendition of Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5.” The performance was broadcast last night on Good Friday.

Charlotte, 21, is expecting her first child with rugby player Gavin Henson, 25, in late 2007. The couple are reportedly planning a lavish wedding on a country estate, Margam Country Park in west Wales.
