Rihanna and ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown appear somber in their black dress and gray suit at a preliminary hearing at Superior Court of Los Angeles County on Monday (June 22).

As previously reported, Chris escaped without jail time and was sentenced to 5 years probation and 180 days of community service in Virginia in connection with his alleged assault on Rihanna back in February.

Moments after the plea bargain was reached, Chris was seen back in the music studio. The Backstreet Boys tweeted, “Just ran into Chris Brown at the studio….”

Chris Brown heads into an L.A. court on Monday (June 22), where he pleaded guilty for felony assault and received a slap on the wrist — 5 years probation and 180 days of community service in Virginia.

This plea deal follows months of speculation following his alleged assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna.

According to LA Times, judge Patricia Schnegg says she plans to issue “a stay-away” order barring Chris from having contact with Rihanna. But an attorney for Rihanna said she doesn’t want the order. More Here! »

Chris Brown enjoys time with friends and Rihanna lookalike (confirmed to be rapper Teyana Taylor) at Game Five of the NBA Finals between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Orlando Magic at Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida on Sunday night (June 14).

Teyana tweeted about the mix-up, saying, “If one more reporter says that I’m Rihanna, I’m gonna go crazy. I look nothin like Rihanna.”

Rihanna was recently subpoenaed to testify in Chris’s assault case. Her attorney, Donald Etra, says his client will cooperate fully at Chris’s June 22 preliminary hearing.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, a ‘group’ calling themselves the Women’s Protection Action League have been issuing threats on his life due to the singer’s charges for beating Rihanna on Grammy Awards weekend.

Chris has been charged with felony assault in the altercation with Rihanna and is due back in court on June 22.

The Associated Press reported that lawyers for Rihanna said she would be subpoenaed to testify as a witness for the prosecution in a preliminary hearing on felony charges against Chris for the alleged assault on RiRi. The hearing is scheduled for June 22 in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Chris Brown finally speaks up after three months of laying low.

“I just wanna say ‘what’s up?’ because I ain’t been out there in a minute,” Chris says in a video shot at Shaquille O’Neal’s house with Bow Wow. “But the new album is gonna be coming soon. We working on it right now. It’s called Graffiti. It’s got everything on it, so y’all be ready for that.”

Chris ended, “Everybody that’s haters, they just been haters. All my real fans, I love you all. I ain’t a monster.”
