Christian Bale: GQ Magazine

Welsh-born hottie Christian Bale wears the sexy scruff on the March 2007 cover of GQ Magazine. Not really sure why he made the cover since he doesn’t have any movies coming out anytime soon. But who am I to complain?

Bale will reprise his role as Batman in 2008’s The Dark Knight. His recent magic movie, The Prestige, co-starring Hugh Jackman, hits stores on DVD today!

Need I remind you that Bale has yet to publicly divulge the name of her daughter, who was born on March 27, 2005 in Santa Monica, Calif. Bale is married to Sibi Blazic, the former make-up artist and a personal assistant to Winona Ryder.

Thanks, moussemaker!

‘The Prestige’: Bad Magic Act

Hollywood’s most dashing men, Hugh Jackman and co-star Christian Bale, attended last night’s world premiere of The Prestige at El Capitan Theater in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles, CA. Hugh, 38, was accompanied by his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and Christian, 32, by his wife Sibi Blazic (inset). More pictures in the gallery!

Most of the reviews for The Prestige are bad, which is a shame because Hugh and Christian are such talented actors. But it’s a Christopher Nolan film, so you should go see it anyway! Three reviewers chime in on The Prestige:

  • The Hollywood Reporter: “Audiences might enjoy this cinematic sleight of hand, but the key characters are such single-minded, calculating individuals that the real magic would be to find any heart in this tale.”
  • Associated Press: “By film’s end, the notion of a rational and satisfying climax has hopelessly disappeared in a silly spiral of one-upmanship and a barrage of half-baked revelations that won’t make you marvel so much as shrug and forget about them.”
  • Variety: “Pic insists on a depth of human emotion that isn’t developed — protags emerge as one-dimensional, despite the efforts of two of our best leading actors — amid increasingly elaborate, uninvolving plot mechanizations.”

‘The Prestige’ Stills

Here are the latest stills for The Prestige starring Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson, David Bowie, and Michael Caine. I have super high hopes for this film, so I hope it doesn’t disappoint!

The Prestige was directed by Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins) and is out in theaters on Oct. 20. Check out the gallery for all the pictures… you won’t want to miss it!

On a slight tangent, Scarlett Johnasson recently said in an interview (Allure November 2006, on newsstands Oct. 24): “Josh [Hartnett] is very sweet. He’s a good boy. A great person. I’m very lucky and I’m very happy. Contrary to popular belief, I’m not promiscuous… There does seem to be a mistaken belief out there that I am sexually available somehow — which is not to say that I’m not open-minded about sex. Yet I wouldn’t say I’m a serial monogamist, either. I mean, I went through periods of time when I was, ah, single. But when I’m in a relationship, I’m in a relationship… I do think on some basic level we are animals, and by instinct we kind of breed accordingly. But as much as I believe that, I work really hard when I’m in a relationship to make it work in a monogamous way… I get tested for HIV twice a year. … One has to be socially aware. It’s part of being a decent human, to be tested for STDs. It’s just disgusting behavior when people don’t. It’s so irresponsible.”

The Prestige Stills: Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale

From acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins), comes a mysterious story of two magicians whose intense rivalry leads them on a life-long battle for supremacy full of obsession, deceit and jealousy with dangerous and deadly consequences. From the time that they first met as young magicians on the rise, Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) were competitors. However, their friendly competition evolves into a bitter rivalry making them fierce enemies-for-life and consequently jeopardizing the lives of everyone around them. Full of twists and turns, The Prestige is set against the backdrop of turn-of-the-century London.

The Prestige stars Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson, David Bowie, and Michael Caine.  The film was originally set for release on October 27th but Touchstone decided to move the film up a week to October 20th. Besides, how can you go wrong?  It’s Batman vs. Wolverine!!!!  Watch The Prestige trailer below!

Christian Bale & Sibi Blazic

Santa Monica, CA:: Actor Christian Bale, 32, was out and about earlier today with his wife of six years, Sibi Blazic, 36.  Ray-Ban must be giving away their sunglasses like water.  Christian Bale (above), Sienna Miller (and another pair), and Hugh Jackman have all been spotted sporting the Ray-Ban brand. And I know you’re dying to know — Christian is wearing a New Balance shirt, New Balance sneakers and Abercrombie zip-off pants. Sizi is toting around a Miu Miu bag.  Talk about brand dedication! Christian Bale Gets Parking Ticket

Hollywood golden couple Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams have both joined the high profile cast of Bob Dylan biopic ‘I’m Not There‘. ‘Brokeback Mountain‘ star Ledger replaces Colin Farrell as one of six actors to play Dylan in the film, which is due to start shooting in Montreal in July. He joins Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Richard Gere and Ben Wishaw in the lead role, with one more Dylan yet to be cast. Todd Haynes (’Velvet Goldmine‘, ‘Far From Heaven‘) is directing the $25 million ‘ferocious musical romp’, while Michael Stipe, Jack White and PJ Harvey will provide the soundtrack.

Santa Monica, CA:: Actor Christian Bale, 32, left the Casa Del Mar hotel late last week to find a parking ticket on the windshield of his car.  Christian Bale married Sibi Blazic (the personal assistant of Winona Ryder, who introduced them) on January 29, 2000. Their baby daughter is 14 months old (name yet to be released to the public).  More pictures in the gallery!
