Christina Ricci snuggles up with a stuffed animal pig at a press conference promoting her upcoming film Penelope at Hotel Seiyo Ginza on Wednesday in Tokyo, Japan. The 27-year-old actress wore a green dress from The Row (The Olsen Twins‘ high-end fashion line) and Givenchy heels.

Penelope will open in early spring in 2008 in Japan and on Feb. 1, 2008 in the U.S. Ricci plays a pig-nosed girl in the film.

And why isn’t costar Reese Witherspoon promoting Penelope with Christina? She’s busy getting her relationship on with Jake Gyllenhaal in San Francisco, Calif.! Reese was recently seen walking along Pier 39 at the Fisherman’s Wharf with Jake and her son Deacon. Awww!!!

The very first Speed Racer movie stills have been released courtesy of USA Today.

Speed is a live action cartoon and is a much-anticipated adaptation by the Wachowski brothers (The Matrix trilogy, V for Vendetta).

“The effects are beyond belief,” says producer Joel Silver. “We called it ‘car fu,’ because it was like kung fu with the cars. We couldn’t have made this movie until right now… It obviously has a present-day aesthetic to it but it’s still a great yarn about family and not selling out. That’s an important message to the (Wachowskis) and why we all connected to the show.”

Emile Hirsch as Speed Racer, Christina Ricci as Trixie (Speed’s girlfriend), John Goodman as Pops Racer, Susan Sarandon as Mom Racer, Matthew Fox as Racer X (Speed’s rival) and Korean pop star Rain as rookie racer Taejo Togokhan.

Christina Ricci wears a frilly fun frock by DKNY at the downtown bask for the new DKNY Delicious Night fragrance launch party on Wednesday in New York City.

The 27-year-old actress talked up her new, lighter-brown hair color to USA Today: “I actually really like it. I read a long time ago, in some beauty bible, that if you want to change your hair color, you should go back to the color you were as a toddler. So that’s what I was.”

Ricci also talked about pampering herself in the Big Apple since she is based in L.A.: “The hotels (here) are some of the most incredible hotels in the world. I love to go back to one of the gorgeous hotel rooms that has a view of the park and be in a luxurious room with an incredible view,” she said. “I’m actually not ‘a hot night out in the city’ kind of girl.”

Christina Ricci (in Louis Vuitton) ditches her jet black hair for a lighter, caramel shade that she showed off LA’s Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA) on Sunday.

The Takashi Murakami (contemporary Japanese artist) event was in honor of fashion designer Marc Jacobs. Jacobs, artistic director for Louis Vuitton, recently discussed his collaboration with Murakami in advance of the exhibition “MURAKAMI.” Watch the video of Marc Jacobs talking about Takashi.

Christina Ricci and Aussie actor boyfriend Kick Gurry keep their arms wrapped around one another on Friday in L.A. as they make their way to lunch at Baja Fresh and do a little afternoon furniture shopping.

Ricci, 27, became romantically involved with Gurry during the filming of Speed Racer in Germany. In the film, Ricci plays Trixie, Speed’s girlfriend, and Gurry plays Sparky, Speed’s mechanic.

Speed Racer hits silver screens nationwide on May 9, 2008.

Ricci, 27, rocked her super short do at the Women’s Guild 50th Anniversary Gala at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Saturday in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Christina will star in 2008’s live-action adaptation of the 1960s cartoon Speed Racer directed by Larry and Andy Wachowski. Ricci will star as Speed’s girlfriend Trixie, his formidable ally on and off the track.
