Celebrities are trickling through LAX airport, arriving for film industry’s biggest night. British leading man Clive Owen (Sin City, Children of Men) just touched down in Los Angeles last night to prep for the Oscars (he’ll be presenting).

Clive, 42, was nominated for an Oscar in 2005 and won a Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film version of Closer.

Co-stars Julianne Moore and Clive Owen attended last night’s screening of Children Of Men at the Tribeca Grand Screening Room last night in New York City. The after-party was sponsored by The Cinema Society and GQ and held at the Soho Grand Penthouse. Julianne was accompanied by husband director Bart Freundlich.

Clive Owen was spotted in a velvet blazer, dining at The Ivy in London last night. The 42-year-old British actor has a film (Children of Men) coming out late December 2006 co-starring Julianne Moore and Michael Caine. Dangerously sexy Clive Owen was spotted at Plaza Athenee’s Hotel in Paris, France this past Sunday. He attended the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at the Hippodrome de Longchamp — France’s most important horse race and part of the prestigious World Series Racing Championship. GIDDY UP!

A recent quote on Clive by George Clooney in the upcoming Vanity Fair issue: “[Clive Owen is] the big find in the past two or three years. I think he’s a movie star. He’s, like, a man — there’s a sexuality and a masculinity that I think is really interesting.”

• George Clooney and former flame Renee Zellweger had a romantic dinner together at Tower Bar in the Sunset Tower Hotel in L.A. two Sundays ago. The two cuddled, held hands, and slow danced to piano music, according to a Post spy. However, the Daily News reports that the dinner was all business, as Zellweger is in talks to star in “Leatherheads,” the football flick Clooney will direct.
