Demi Moore gives Vegas the thumbs up as she stands alongside co-stars Kevin Costner and Dane Cook on Tuesday evening at the photo call for their upcoming crime thriller Mr. Brooks.

The photo call was during ShoWest, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Ownersheld at the Paris Las Vegas in Nevada.

Mr. Brooks follows a man (Costner) with a murderous alter ego (William Hurt). Demi will play a tough detective whose devotion to her craft catches the attention and respect of the serial killer she is hunting, which leads to a symbiotic relationship. The film opens in theaters nationwide on June 1.

NBC wants reporters to meet Ashton Kutcher in an attempt to promote its new show, “The Real Wedding Crashers” - but it doesn’t want any “personal questions.” In a memo obtained by Mediabistro.com, an NBC flack invites the media to a March 16 press conference. “Questions will be taken from in-person journalists as well as from press on the phone,” reads the letter. “Please do not ask Ashton Kutcher any ‘personal’ questions.” Especially about rumors that his wife, Demi Moore, is expecting. When “Extra” speculated that she was “hiding a pregnancy,” her rep responded, “If or when Demi is pregnant, she and her husband will decide if that extremely private information should be made public.”

• Eva Longoria bruised her ribs was taken to the hospital after being injured on the set of Desperate Housewives. “Eva slipped on one of the stairs coming out of her trailer,” her publicist, Liza Anderson, said yesterday. The actress will not require any time off for the injury. Eva also hurt herself on the set of the ABC show in August 2005. She was hit in the head by a piece of equipment and needed emergency attention.
• Jessica Simpson and Dane Cook cuddled Wednesday night at the premiere party for their film, Employee of the Month, at Tejune. Spies say they curled up in a booth together and whispered into each other’s ears all night. The two left together with Jessica’s hairdresser, Ken Paves. At the film’s premiere, Jessica told the Daily News she’s happy she didn’t have to bare as much skin for her role. “I’m just a normal, all-American, strait-laced, Midwestern girl,” Jessica said.
• Madonna visited an orphanage in Malawi yesterday, handing out copies of her book “The English Roses” to a crowd of AIDS orphans as her publicist dismissed claims that she was going to adopt a child herself. Andrina Mchiela, a senior official with Malawi’s Ministry for Gender and Child Welfare, said she believes the singer’s plans to adopt “remain unchanged.” Meanwhile, according to the Post, Madonna wants to drill wells in Malawi so the children will have clean water.
• The two-day auction for hundreds of Cher’s goods fetched $3.5 million. A black 2005 Bentley Continental GT Coupe received the highest bid of $204,000 and of Cher’s vintage gown collection, a black Bob Mackie-designed got the highest bid at $60,000 - about twice the asking price.

• Tom Cruise and Paramount Pictures are parting ways. The studio will sever its 14-year relationship with Cruise’s film production company because "his recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount." "It’s nothing to do with his acting ability, he’s a terrific actor.  But we don’t think that someone who effectuates creative suicide and costs the company revenue should be on the lot." Cruise’s partner, Paula Wagner said their company has already obtained commitments from two hedge funds, whose names would be announced soon.
• Star reports that George Clooney and Ellen Barkin are an item, saying the two got close while filming on the set of Ocean’s 13.
• Us Weekly reports that Eddie Murphy is about to pop the question to former Spice Girl Melanie Brown.  A source says, "They are already living together at Eddie’s house," and"Each got a tattoo of the other’s name."  Um, barf?

Jessica Alba has been in Vancouver, Canada filming her upcoming rom-com Good Luck Chuck costarring Dan Fogler and again, Dane Cook.  Here’s a synopsis… "A guy who breaks up with his longtime lady is shocked to hear that she gets engaged to her next boyfriend. He finds himself repeating this pattern and that hopeful single women seek him out dates so they’ll soon find Mr. Right." For the Next Two Months

Looks like Jessica Simpson and comedian Dane Cook (they’ve been linked romantically) will be attached at the hip for the next two months hosting The Teen Choice Awards and promoting their new movie together .  Here are some new promo pictures for The Teen Choice Awards, which will air live on Sunday, August 20 @ 8PM ET/PT on FOX.  Also, here are new promo pictures for Employee of the Month, which will be out September 15th.  Watch the trailer for that below; more pictures in the gallery!

Sante Fe, New Mexico :: Singer/actress Jessica Simpson, 25, filmed scenes for The Perfect Employee with director Greg Coolidge (bottom right) this past Saturday evening and this morning.   In Touch is reporting that the actress will be paid $1 million plus $267,000 as a perk package for the film in which her character will speak a total of 806 words. (That’s $1,240 per word if you’re rough on your math skills.) This past Thursday, Gov. Bill Richardson and his wife Barbara of New Mexico hosted a dinner for Jessica Simpson and her parents, Joe and Tina, at the New Mexico governor’s mansion.
