Jude Law promotes his new movie Sleuth (he produced and acts in it) on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show with David Letterman. The film is a remake of the 1972 movie, in which Michael Caine played the role of hair salon owner Milo Tindle. Jude takes on this role in the 2007 version.

“Because of the way it evolved, it really felt it was really an original take on it,” Jude has said. “So I don’t feel like I was stepping on (Caine’s) toes. [And] working with Michael is extraordinary. I feel very lucky. I’ve worked with some great actors. Michael is an icon, you know, he’s also a gentleman, he’s also incredibly modest, he’s also very good fun.”

Sleuth opens in limited release on October 12.

Paris Hilton got absolutely grilled by David Letterman on Friday night’s episode of The Late Show. Letterman was relentless in asking Paris about her jail sentence and she supposedly cried after the show (it was taped Tuesday).

I wouldn’t be surprise if Paris never makes an appearance on Letterman ever again!!! Brutal!!!!

Jennifer Garner looked great in an green Alberta Ferretti sheath during her appearance on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Show with David Letterman. The 35-year-old actress shared a funny story about 21-month-old daughter, Violet:

“I keep her in a little Gucci bag and I carry her around with me. Babies are the new accessory!

“But I do have a problem with my child right now actually. She’s obsessed these days with my stunt double, Shauna Duggins, from The Kindgom and Alias. I’ve worked with her for years and she’s a really good friend of mine. She’s like my partner in crime. She [looks like me] except cooler and hotter and with a better body. My daughter recognizes this and makes me call her ‘Shauna Girl’ and she draws Green Shauna, Pink Shauna, Blue Shauna.

“She will turn any song or any book into a song or book about Shauna, such as the other night, I was singing to her something I sing to her all the time: ‘I love my baby Violet Anne.’ And she looked at me with so much love and she said, ‘I love Shauna, Shauna, Shauna!’

“I’m kinda afraid it’s gonna permeate the household and I’m gonna come home and Shauna’s gonna be in my house with my husband, kinda cooking dinner. She’s the fake me. I keep saying to Violet, ‘She is not really me! She’s the other half… I do my own stunts!”

The Kingdom costarring Jamie Foxx and Jason Bateman opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, Sept. 28.

Kate Walsh, toting around Jimmy Choo’s Carolina in Eel) stops by The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday to chat up her upcoming spin-off of the award-winning popular television show, Grey’s Anatomy. The Private Practice series premiere “In Which We Meet Addison…” airs TOMORROW, Wednesday, September 26 @ 9PM ET/PT on ABC.

On Letterman, Kate shared about building up the wall at her home in Los Feliz for some privacy. She apparently received landscaping tips from the paparazzi! One of the left a note in her mailbox:

“We noticed you’re building up your wall but we just want to tell you that you really don’t have to. You can just put some more shrubs in and then we can’t really get a good pictures. Signed, The Paparazzi.”

Jessica Alba arrives in black at NYC’s Ed Sullivan theater on Thursday for The Late Show with David Letterman. She changed into a gold sparkly dress for the show.

During Letterman, Alba talks about her time on stage with 50 Cent during one of his concerts in Amsterdam and answers some questions from the Cosmo quiz (she’s on the cover of the latest issue):

On if she’s ever fallen in love at first sight: “Yeah. It’s still trying to figure itself out (in reference to on-and-off-again lover Cash Warren).”

On if she’s ever stripped in real life: “Of course [I have but] I get nervous. I’ve been in monogamous relationships. You try to spice things up and I get nervous! I get nervous!”

On sex on the first date: “(unenthusiastically) Fine. Sometimes a good parking place is better [than sex on the first date].”

Matt Damon struts his beefy body into the Ed Sullivan Theater for The Late Show With David Letterman on Wednesday in New York City. The Bourne Ultimatum actor wore his support for hometown team, The Boston Red Sox.

On Letterman, Matt shared a funny story about George Clooney calling him the night before the Ocean’s 13 cast got their hand and footprints taken at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. George recommended he get “big shoes” because “the concrete shrinks.”

“JOHN WAYNE HAD GIRL FEET?!?!?”

Matt is a size 11 shoe and wound up wearing a size 12. Because of shrinkage, George wound up wearing a size 14!!!!

It’s like the age-old Seinfeld episode with the pool shrinkage. But now all celebrities getting their footprints done should be warned about concrete shrinkage!

The Office’s John Krasinski arrives at the Ed Sullivan theater in NYC for a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday. Watch his appearance tonight on CBS @ 11:35PM ET/PT — he’ll be pimping his summer comedy License to Wed!

Studio 60 star Amanda Peet will also be making an appearance on tonight’s episode. The NBC series has been canceled but the series finale will air on Thursday, May 28 @ 10PM ET/PT. Amanda has a 4-month old daughter Frances Pen Benioff. (The baby’s middle name is in honor of Amanda’s mom, Penny.)

Nicole Richie is also scared of serving time in the slammer, she said on Wednesday at The Late Show with David Letterman.

“I’m just keeping my fingers crossed,” said Nicole dressed in Catherine Malandrino. “Of course, I’m scared also, but, you know, I’m willing to face whatever consequences come my way, and I take responsibility for what I’ve done.”

When will the 25-year-old Simple Life star know her fate? “Probably the end of this month. I hope you don’t have to go to jail.”

A sympathetic Letterman wished her the best: “I hope you don’t have to go to jail.”
