Star Trek stud Chris Pine will next star opposite Denzel Washington in the action drama Unstoppable.

According to THR, the story centers on an experienced train engineer (Washington) about to be laid off as part of company cutbacks and the newbie conductor (Pine) hired to replace him. They find themselves in a race against time to stop an unmanned, half-mile-long freight train carrying enough combustible liquids and poisonous gas to wipe out a nearby city.

Directing the flick is Tony Scott (Top Gun, Enemy Of The State). This is going to be goooooooood!

Cameron Diaz pets Target’s Bullseye during AFI’s Night At The Movies held at ArcLight Cinemas on Wednesday in Hollywood.

Janet Jackson is lovely in leather as she speaks on stage during the Apollo Theater 2008 Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony on Monday in New York City.

Smokey Robinson, the 68-year-old R&B icon was inducted into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame, joining the ranks of Gladys Knight, James Brown, Ella Fitzgerald and Little Richard.

Also in attendance: Denzel Washington, Terrence Howard, Wanda Sykes, and India Arie.

Denzel Washington films hijacking scenes for his new movie, The Taking of Pelham 123 on Sunday in New York City.

The Taking of Pelham 123 is a originally a thriller novel whereby a New York City subway train is hijacked and ransom money is demanded for the hostages inside the train.

John Travolta co-stars in the thriller and plays the leader of the group of hijackers, while Denzel plays Zachary “Z” Garber, the chief detective of security for the subway.

The film is scheduled to be released in July 2009.

Denzel Washington goes for a ride on a jet ski on Thursday while aboard a yacht with his family in St Bart’s.

Denzel’s The Great Debaters opened on Christmas day and has since grossed $16 million.

The movie has sparked some controversy due to the liberties taken with the plot line. In the film, Denzel’s college faces Harvard in the final debate, however in reality, they squared off against USC.

Denzel Washington, Oprah Winfrey, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson and Samuel L. Jackson arrive at the MGM premiere of The Great Debaters held at the Arclight Cinerama Dome on Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif.

The drama is based on the true story of Melvin B. Tolson, a professor at Wiley College in Texas. In 1935, he inspired students to form the school’s first debate team, which went on to challenge Harvard in the national championship.
